Hi,
As you know that the Facebook App in Xperia V is having a bug whereby you upload a photo in Portrait mode but it appear to be in Landscape mode after uploading to Facebook.
Do you all use any other Replacement Facebook App like FriendCaster etc or just stick with the default Facebook app?
I like to hear your recommendation, thanks.
That's not really a facebook issue. It's an android issue i think. Try copying the pictures on your computer and looking and the thumbnails. You'll see what I mean.

Sony support knows about this issue already, hope they fix it with next update.
FriendCaster is buggy on my V, even if I hide games from people they show up in the widget, otherwise very good.
So, I got used to take pictures in landscape mode now and its nice or just rotate them with the desktop Facebook.

Thanks for your reply. You are right that FriendsCaster is buggy as I encounter a few times that it actually crash when I open the app.

When sending pics as mms or posting to facebook with the fb app, it is not possible to torture them if needed. Am I correct?

don't believe there is any option for it no..only way is to go through the gallery and rotate them there before you send them...
Yeah it sucks

buzz too ...
So we are stuck without a solution? Does handcent solve this for mms?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
yeah, that fixed landscape upload thing, annoys the hell out of me, too.
Is there a "bug" thread about this ovewr at Google Code somewhere?
You have to crop it before, then you will be able to upload in landscape
Of course, will lose quality, but it's the easy solution so far
Yeah, what about editing (rotating) the photo in an application like PicSay or that mobile Photoshop... then upload/send to facebook/mms?
Anyone going a solution to this? I tried Tweetdeck, but the same problem there. Any other app that can solve this?
Does anybody know if this annoying quirk has been fixed in GB on the NS?
EDIT: Actually I found a work around: Install PicSay and export to Facebook or MMS from inside that app and it will kepp the correct mode (landscape/portrait). Not a 100% fix, but doable!

Facebook For Android is a piece of ****. I hate that people actually like it. The iPhone version is twenty times better....seems like the Android app was coded by an utter retard.
Flow is awesome: better even than iPhone official version of Facebook which - while good - suffers far more annoying bugs.
Through Flow you can set up push notifications easily through its gmail interception system. They work immediately and look brilliant. If you turn the popup on then when someone comments it shows their picture and what they said in a little window. You can scroll through multiple popups. notifies you for everything you have set up Facebook Emails to tell you about.
It supports loads of things that Facebook for Android doesn't support such as tagging, untagging, deleting posts, viewing 'likes', setting profile pictures and uploading whole albums from the gallery at full size. Not too keen on the icons on the main menu but the developer is working on it.
Also it doesn't keep you logged into chat 24/7 and drain your battery, nor does it link to the browser everytime you try and do anything. Only thing it doesn't support is inbox (owing to Facebook API I believe) but it does give push notifications of inbox messages and opens up the requisite page in the mobile site.
Flow for Facebook all the way - absolutely phenominal. Screw the official app.

Why would you want chat within the app? Its a piece of crap on iPhone too and drains battery like hell as it doesn't keep you logged in server side. You can download Beejive for Facebook for FREE. It not only keeps you logged in for as long as you choose to but its very reliable and uses c2dm so uses next to no battery.
Screw chat within the app.
For a great widget use Launcher Pro. Best Facebook widget I've seen.

IPhone Facebook app is a lot better than Facebook for Android but it still leaves a lot to be desired. Notifications are clunky and when you open up a push notification it doesn't refresh the notifications feed itself upon opening. Photo comments OFTEN don't show even though you've been sent a notification of one - often takes a number of restarts and refreshes to show them. Lots of other little bugs. Like I say, iPhone app IS better BUT just look on iTunes at reviews of the app to see that it is less than perfect!
Thanks, i just bought Flow for facebook and its great!
Flow is actually nice but the lack of a widget lets it down.
thanks everyone for responfding
i just installed flow and like it so far
gun bros
FLOW developer is working on a widget I believe.
The app now has an integrated quick reply feature so when your notification popup appears you can immediately respond to it without even leaving the screen you're in. Pretty brilliant I reckon and I've seen nothing like it on any other platform.
thanks for flow
I have not been able to use 3rd party camera apps like Camera360, QR Code Reader, Vignette, Magic Hour etc. It installs fine, but when I open it, the screen is just dark and blank. Using a rooted phone (DDKB1) I've experienced no problems while using the stock camera app. Can anyone help?
dude i am using vignette and 3d panorama like applications but i did not faced any problems like this
Sounds like u have removed the stock email app.
For some strange reason the stock email app is linked to all other camera related apps, try reinstalling it.
Even i hav removed email ap but camera works perfectly

wow! thanks guys...i had used startup manager to remove some of the apps that i thought were unnecessary. here are the apps that i added back to the start-up:
skype, yahoo mail, market, google maps
and now camera360 is working again but QR Code Scanner is still not working.
EDIT: QR Droid Private (code scanner) is working! Thanks a lot guys!

Are you using free or paid? Any good free apps to enhance pic quality key or add functions to camera

Sorry question was wrongly phrased. Don't need pic editing but need more functions to camera if available (if that improves picture quality). Don't need special effects like frames and things but any way the picture can be better. Any good free apps for this.

Glad it helps
Lemme clarify it a bit for those who may come across it in the future.
- Removing the stock email app with screw up other apps which have camera related feature. (my experience was Qr code, cam scanner)
- After removing the email app, your stock camera should still function well. However, 3rd party camera program will not (my experience was Pudding Camera). So, basically it is not 'cannot use camera', it is 'cannot use most camera related apps'
- My version to fix it is to reinstall the stock email app.

Great thanks man! I've reflashed my phone 2 times because of this and got the same errors with barcode reader and all other applications, I can't imagine that disabling starting email application can cause that type of problems! )
Hi guys,
I have a question about a problem I have since a couple of days. Whenever I try to send a picture in Facebook while in the message section I get a FC if I try to send a picture taken or if I choose one directly from my Gallery.
It's possible to send the picture if I go on Chrome and on the mobile website, but through the Facebook app or Facebook Messenger app it always closes to the Home. I think there's a possibility that it's related to a memory issue. I used to be able to do this without any problem and I think it's since the last Facebook app update (but still, there was no update on the Messenger app and it's still crashing).
I include the Logcat and hopefully somebody could have a look and help me out.
I am sorry for my bad english, I hope my explantion was clear enough.
Thanks a lot and have a nice day people!
Hi does anyone have Facebook app crashes consistently after the new update that T-Mobile pushed? ? It's getting annoying. Also the Automatic brightness control is out of sync! ?
No crashes here, but Facebook app is a power hogging app, I use my browser for facebook.

Don't use facebook app(except messenger), so can't comment on that, but auto-brightness seems to be fine.
Crashes quite often and videos stop playing for no reason. Also have issue with zoom in the app. Sometimes font is small and other times it feels like I'm viewing the landscape mode but holding my phone upright on portrait mode.
My Facebook all has never worked for longer than about a month for me, on any of my last 5 or so Samsung devices. It always crashes whenever I try to open comments or notifications, but it lets me scroll down my news feed for a few minutes.
Weird thing is that my spouse has never had any of these issues and he has the same phone.
Sometimes uninstalling/downgrading and reinstalling or clearing cache and app data will bring the app back to a usable state for a few days, but I just use Facebook mobile on my browser.
I encountered the issue during the beta phase of that Facebook version, prompting me to revert back to non-beta. Try uninstalling and re-installing it back. It may work
