Kies and CM - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So my dad has a Galaxy Note (n7000), and he wants to install a Jelly Bean rom. But he uses kies everyday, does it still work on jb? If not, any fixes available?

Wait for official release it won't take more than a few days
Tapatalking on my n7000

Why don't he use Android ? I think Android is much better than Kies air, free and support any rom. Most of the time i have disconnection issues on Kies. Once you try Android you never use kies.

Kies does work for backup and all on stock JB leaks.. just the firmware upgrade is the one that doesnot work. i am sure he wont be using it every day

i know that the 4.0.4 is out bechuse they are selling it with Phones here in Iceland.
Ics is meant for high-end phones, galaxy mini have unofficial port which have problem with drivers, ics version won't change anything... and its all in cm9 thread, so next time do some reading before you post dumb question

[Q] Is there a port from the Note2 to the N7000 in our future?

Just wondering if in the not so distant future we will be geting a port from the N7100 to our loved GT-N7000? Is this wishfull thinking or is it in the works? Thank's for any hope rel hope at least.
There will be but one has to wait for months. Sammy dont want its new flagship phones sales to be ruined. I am still satisfies with my ics experience. Will keep my phone for quite a long time

i believe the latest android update to 4.1.2 will have all the features Note 2 has.. so may be there wont be the necessity for a port

Is there an ETA for that update?
as samsung has decided to skip the 4.1.1 and update directly to 4.1.2 for NOTE, very soon
the recently leaked JellyBean Rom XXLS7 will bring the note 2 features to the original note

Official JB is not yet released by Samsung. There are TW leaks in Dev Forum, try it out. IMHO Official CM 10.1 is the best.
I hope you are aware of the super-brick bug.

official jb is not avialable in india yet ............. u can try custom roms ,,,,,,,,,,,if u like touchwiz then go for angry v3 its the best rom with multiple dpi avialable otherwise you ca use panaroidandroid ro its good
Whatever the hell you do,do it from recovery
Why you all think odin is needed???!!!
Go for ultimate jb v5.1
Easy flashing steps are included in its thread

Not a single official stock jb ROM released from samsung to n7000 try alliance or ultimate
And like the guy said what the hell you need odin for rooting needs recovery only

Need HELP: Android 4.0 for Samsung Galaxy S I9000

Hello everyone,
a few days ago i read that its possible to upgrade the android version on my galaxy s from 2.3 to 4.0, so i studied a lot of threads how to do that.
Yesterday i rootet my galaxy with the semaphore kernel 2.7.4 (for actual system infos check the screenshot below). Before this, my Firmware was at 2.3.3, the Basisbandversion (i don't know the english term) was JW6.
How can i update my firmware to 4.0? Is there also a semaphore Kernel?
