[Q] Battery Charging faster,lasting lesser! - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Well i know our ace got serious problems with battery draining issue, anyway still a bad question may be, on any ROM my ace charges very quickly, like from 10% to 80% it takes 1-2 minutes and than 80% to 100% in less than one minutes and lasts for about 10-20 minutes with moderate usage.
Does this belongs to battery or the problem is in Charger?
I have tried STOCK/Modified ROMS. Still this persists..is there any possible outcome for this? do anyone else have the issue as mine?

Try to delete all battery stats from CWM and immediatly after do a full charge with device off in order to calibrate battery. My almost 3 years old Ace with stock 2.3.6 rom last about 18 to 20 hrs with some internet, music, call, sms. I always charge it while off so i get the full charge for sure. Hope I help you

LOL,cant be almost 3 years, because Ace was released in February 2011
And about battery, charge it to 100% while off,and then wipe battery stats, then use your phone till it shutdown and then charge it to 100%.In that way you should get better battery life and better kernel reading of battery stats.

Well, i have tried all that battery stats stuff, i think i need to replace my battery with some other original, even though i have under-clocked using NoFrills, and deleted all bloatware i always have 140-160 mb of free RAM, only using WhatsApp and some calls or sms etc, anyway have somebody here gave try to those golden batteries at Ebay? which claim to be 1750mAH and some are even 2020mAH for ACE.
& yeah ACE cudn't be 3 years old anyhow

Buy an original battery because the unofficial one claiming to have a capacity of 2000mah or something like that are most of the time (ever XD) fake because can't reach the peak capacity declared (can be worse than original) and lose capacity a lot faster than original one. Users on the Accessories topic complained about fake chinese batteries. Now it's your choice

[Q] Battery dying?

Since a few days ago, battery charging on my P990 takes ages and it doesn't even charge up to 100 percent. I always leave my phone plugged over night but since this has started to happen, the battery only charges up to 80 percent maximum.
At first I thought it was kernel-related (Pengus' latest experimental version that's not supported for ICS), but after flashing a proper one (CivZ SithLord) and even reflashing the ROM (civato's Flex-Icer 4.5) with a full wipe nothing changed.
Has anyone experienced something like this? Does this mean that my battery is about to drop dead or it might be somehow software related?

Thanky you for your reply. In the meantime, I've managed to resolve the problem. It was my charger's cable that caused all of this. Its plug is damaged so I simply replaced it with a new one, but before finding that out I had already bought a replacement battery and a wall charger. Nevermind, these spare parts will be useful.

How long u waited for charging ? .253 noted takes longer time to charge fully compared to previous 434 and 350 firmwares. I back 350 and I don't see have that prob dy. Probably some kernel/firmware from 253 modded something inside. Try charge longer and report here again

starting a phone does not take 1% battery douche
I've got the same problem. In .434 when I was unplugging the phone, the battery was at 100% for about an hour or some , but it was at 100% , now on .253 when I unplug it from the charger it shows me 99% or very rarely 100% but only for a couple of minutes, I haven't done a re-calibration maybe that's the problem.
Yeah, I have same problem... After .253 update I can't get full charge... I was posting about this problem in thread "battery life". It's funny how some people has that problem, and some other hasn't :/ I was trying to calibrate battery, but with no success...
Yes,i have callibrate the battery too,but with no sucses
Sounds weird. I do not have the issues. Are u all charging the phone when it is off? I have mine in and when I take it off the charger it is 100%.

Well try charging it with the phone on. I am pretty sure that the phone after u turn t back on loses right away 1% because all the apps and everything and all the syncing process happens when u restart the phone. Is common sense, it will drain the battery. Same like when u do a restart with let's say 77% u will after the restart mist likely have less then 77%. So keep it on so the phone doesn't always has to restart all apps and all the syncing. Also the phone only charges until it is full but won't compensate if the battery gets a little less. In phone om state it always will keep the full charge in off it does not. So when u turn it on keep it on the charger for let's say 10 15 more minutes. Then take it off. Or just charge it when it is on. Don't even know why u turn it all the way off in the first place?

Thanks for the explaining.I will try to charge with the phone on.At night i do not use my phone, that is why i turn it off,I thought it is better for the phone.

Check your charger first. A corrupted/duplicate charger would take long enough time to charge the battery to 100%
If it's ok, Try to charge your battery in a similar device. If it charge properly, then the problem might be in hardware.
If it not charging properly in other device, it's time to change your battery..:fingers-crossed:

I tried charging the old battery and that goes really fast. At least for me it's normal. It went from about 55% to 88% in 1,5-2 hours so happily it's not device related. Seems that the new battery isn't working properly. Or should i setup something to make my device recognize the new battery?

There's nothing to setup for a new battery. Only just in first use you have to charge it continuously for about 2-3 hours to calibrate it with the device.
Try one thing, fully discharge the battery to 0% and charge it up to 100% continuously.(whatever time it takes) :fingers-crossed:
If it not helps, change the battery.

There's a doubt. If it's because of a faulty battery, the drain will also be worst na.? But he didn't mentioned it.

About the batteries for our device

Did anyone tried those batteries that sell on ebay??
There is one with 5000mah and another with 2450mah
Did anyone tried that??
I've just ordered from the USA the 1800mAh battery. Waiting and will report ASAP.
4500+ batteries are with special cover (as twice as fat) so out of question for me. 2450mAh seems like too good to be true. It may work for some time actually...
My battery is draining very quickly.
Its happening after heavy usage (3g and games) in first two days of purchase.....
Normally a 1500 mAh battery work for how many days?

Yeah have to charge 3 to 4 times a day after playing temple run 2 ...Strange...
The problem is that our device need more battery than 1500mah
1500mah is l3 battery not a phone with dual core and super amoled display
That's why I'm searching for a bigger capacity battery for our phone, but unfortunately only eBay sells it and I live in Brazil so I probably can't buy it
How much the battery of s3 mini lasts?? Is it the same as ours (less than one day (11hrs))
My phone eats ~10% per hour even in full Deep Sleep. I cannot understand neither tolerate it.
Something wrong with I9070P from the very beginning.
Ordered a couple of different batteries just to check.

Did you know is battery from some other Samsung is compatible with SGSA ?

The only thing that make me regret buying this phone and not a galaxy grand is the battery life
Its horrible, even l7 ii is better
So I'm very interested in taking a battery with a few more mahs if I could buy that 1800mah version I would be happy

Max Battery Capacity Not 4 Amps

I've had my Note 9 for just over a week, installed AccuBattery Pro day one, and after many charge cycles, my battery health is sitting at an estimated 3,855 mAh. I know this is only 4% lower than manufacturer specifications, but 4% is 4%. Does everyone feel AccuBattery's estimations are fairly accurate? I've used AccuBattery for years, and this is the first phone that showed less than the designed capacity.
I'd like to swap it out for a different one, has anybody had any experiences like this or tips on getting Best Buy to understand the issue?

I reset Accubattery pro through apps after 22 seasions. Still shows 97% 3882mHa ( was 95% before) I'm wondering if I do a total charge down to zero then charge if it might change our figures? I posted up about this on day one. Didn't have this issue on my note 8.

I'll give resetting the app a try and see if it reads in differently. My Note 8 started at 103% capacity.

I read some technical articles on Li-on low discharge being hard on the battery and shared with the Accubattery dev, but he didn't seem to think it had an impact on battery health or that the community cared, but would consider it. I'd love to have a low battery notification threshold in the app as well. I try to never discharge below 15%.

I do not mind the notification, I go to the minimum, but it disturbs me the 3780mAh measurement and I loaded on the normal wireless. If it was cable, it was less. I performed a 40% load on 100%.
I got battery health at 95% think note 8 was at 98%
Based on reading various comments here is it that their statistics are just that and inaccurate ?
I tried to find another app that does this to at least compare but Kaspersky doesn't give this level if detail.
Third session ( since reset of app)and now my estimate figures dropped from.over 4000mAh to following. Charged all way to 100% from 49%.

That's how it looks at me on exynos. If I immediately remove the charger after the LED made green I have 3785mAh. If I leave it 15 minutes extra after it is loaded, it grows to 3850mAh. It is clear that it does not have 4000mAh or has software limitation loading.
But why do you charge the battery from 49%? A cable charge of 30% and wireless from 40% to 100% is more than acceptable.
I had Notes 8 and AccuBattery show me 3150mAh after 1 yea with all limitation software. We still have now Notes9 with a much bigger battery so we have no reason to worry about it 2,3years.
