Turn the phone off (take the battery out). Press volume down + home + power ON.
That should start the phone in "Download Mode".
Next you want to install Odin (Windows) or Heimdall (Linux) on your PC.
Install a new kernel that comes with CWM Recovery. (Example: http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/...rnel/AbyssNotekernel42CWTouchOriginalLogo.tar)
Turn the phone off, reboot into recovery mode, flash the rom of your liking.
Smile.
Oh and backup ; )

Hey guys,
I been looking for past few hours in this forum to find answers but cant.
Here is my problem.
Samsung Galaxy Note will not power on
It will go to download mode by pressing Vol down+home button and Power button.
I tried flashing few roms with Odin, seems to be all goes fine, but as soon phone restarts it stays on Samsung Galaxy Note screen. Also I get USB Not recognised on my PC when phone stack Samsung Galaxy Note screen.
Can please someone kindly explain to me step by step what to do to get it working.

Flash abyss kernel. Get into abyss kernel by reboot into recovery and do a full wipe (wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik) then flash a rom of your choice.
Thanks
Can you give me link to abyss kernel please :good:
Sorry, also how to flash kernel
Sorry for many questions, i am new to this, but learning fast
If you are flashing in Odin bare in mind there are 2 pit files one for the 16gb and one for the 32gb versions of the phone. It wont boot if youve used the wrong pit file

I tried every possible option
Flashed abyss kernel
Flashed stock firmware
Flashed pit file
Still same as soon it boots in Galaxy Note screen i get error USB not recognised, cant access in to recovery also

Power off your Note.
Hold Volume down & Home & press Power button. Then when you see the Samsung logo, let go of the Power button. Your phone will boot into Odin/download mode. Press Volume up when asked to. Now you are in download mode.
Connect your phone with usb cable to your computer.
On your computer, run PC Odin. You should see a yellow highlighted COM sign. If you don’t, download Samsung Kies and install it. Then plug-out and plug-in the micro-USB cable to your Galaxy Note and you should see it.
Then click on PDA, and select the pit file then press start.
Sir my advice go to dr ketans thread find pre rooted gb rom for your country start from the begining flash it via pc odin be patient read everything carefully... It is described there...

Bricked a I9000 with Vodoo

Hi all,
Yesterday i bricked my phone. I can't enter the download modus I hope someone can help me.
On the device was installed original Froyo 2.2
To root I installed via Odin I9000XWJVH_-_I9000XENJV4 and did a repartition > so far so good
after that i installed a kernel called CF-Root-XW_XEE_JS7-v1.3-BusyBox-1.15.3 via Odin > after that i only could update with update.zip. That was no option.
So i searched for a another kernel with CLOCKWORKMOD. I choose [KERNEL] Advanced Voodoo v666.1+2 (CLOCKWORKMOD 3/VOODOO SOUND/OC+UV) for Gingerbread 2.3.3. I installed voodoo-kernel-XWJVH-v1.4.tar. > He passed the flash via Odin.
Right now when i start the phone i only see the Samsung image and i can't enter the download or recovery modus. I hear a voice saying " convert data partition" then she said "not enough space on partition"
What can i do? Use a USB Jig?
can you enter recovery mode or download mode ?

Problem is solved. I installed KIES on my computer, after that my phone was found in Odin. In Odin i tried to flash back to the stockrom. Because i wasnt in download mode it failed / stopped. I disconnected the usb kabel and restarted the phone with the 3 button combo. And i could enter the dowload mode

Galaxy S I9001 bricked? (system.img.ext4 download)

Hi Guys,
I have a big problem with my Galaxy Plus (I9001). I wanted to flash the original stock firmware (2.3.6) and always at the part "system.img.ext4 download" its stucking (waited about 40 minutes).
I also tried to flash BroodROM RC5 with odin, but here is the same problem it stucks at "system.img.ext4 download".
If I try to get into recovery i always get the Ramdump Mode. Flashing CWM recovery dont take any effect (Odin does not issue error).
Sorry for bad english.
I hope u can help me
thx JerI

1) please try it many times! To recover my phone, I need some hours (3-4) , to get into recovery mode!
2) switch to windows / go to a friend.
Also, in the future, read before flash an new rom, the comments of others. I am the one of many others who said that the rom causes bootloop !

OHH....I mean, instead pressing Vol. Up+ Vol. Down+home+power to get in recovery,
you need to press home+power+up+down (fast!!!!)
You need to have the keys pressed before phone vibration ends ! If you see clockworkmod logo under phone model, release the keys!
If not repeat the steps! :good:
can't you go to a cybercafe or land a windows machine once in your life ? i think it is better to use something that worked for many people than taking risks

Wow .. Your solution is easier than mine I should have known that method earlier ... Usually .. when I stuck in bootloop ... I will Force the phone to enter Recovery Mode ...
1.Press the Download Mode Key Combination ( VOL down + Home + Power )
2.After that, the phone will warn you right ?? Choose cancel (VOL down)
3.After you pressed Vol Down the phone will try to reboot .
4.When the phone try to reboot, press the Recovery Mode key combination BUT without pressing power button. Press ONLY the three button.
5.The phone will enter recovery Mode.
6.Full wipe the Phone and/or restore your backup.
It works for me EVERYTIME ..
If it is not working for you, just try again .. Your timing in STEP 4 must be PERFECT !!
