I can't seem to get my contact pictures to display in my third party messaging apps. They show in my contacts just not any of my messaging apps (Handcent SMS/Sliding Messenger) Any fixes for this? By the way, I'm rooted on the Icarus HD rom, but even before then I had no luck. Also, they do show on my stock messaging, just none of the third party apps.

I am on CM7 on my Milestone and have the SMS/launcher apps locked in memory (although I uninstalled the stock sms to just use handcent) and I am sick of missing messages to the point I have got in trouble because of missing messages.
What else can I do to stop this problem?
Just today I tried texting myself a number (quick way to get info to the phone and never even got the message.
I have been in the application settings and watched it randomly restart which I believe would miss any messages at that time. Since I heard before when either the SMS app or Laucher is loading that any messages will be lost.
Try using the default messaging apk inside CM7 Milestone. As Handcent uses much more RAM compared to the default one. Also, try minimizing widgets on your homescreen, and other apps that constantly run in the background (i.e. antivirus, CPU/RAM/system monitors, social networking apps, etc.)
I will think about trying the stock again but I remember it as being pretty basic.
I have no widgets at all and Facebook sync turned off only other app I know that runs in the background is my voice caller id, which I can't live without.
I used sgs tools to upgrade tw launcher, but i didn't remove my apps from the dock. all of these apps (phone, messaging, and camera) weren't in the app drawer after the uprade. I then upgraded my camera using sgs tools and now It is back in the drawer. The other 2 apps are still installed. whenever i receive calls or messages, my phone acts as it should, but I want to know how to get them back in the drawer. so i was just wanting to know if anyone has a solution. even if it is an "upgrade" like what returned the camera?
menu, settings, applications, manage applications, all, touchwizlauncher, clear data, reboot
I have a stock, Sprint HTC One M7 running Android 5.0.2 & HTC Sense 6.0.
Has anyone had the problem where a 3rd party messaging app (Google Messenger, Pulse, etc.) is not storing and providing notifications of incoming messages? Almost daily, I have instances where people will send me a text, and I get no notification from the 3rd party app. If I go into HTC Messages, I do see those texts, but again they are not storing in the 3rd party app. I do not have HTC Messages set as the default app.
I did communicate with one developer and he thinks the HTC Messages is not writing properly to the internal database. I'm guessing other messaging apps pick up the messages from a single database, then show a notification? I'm still stock, so I can't disable HTC Messages.
Any suggestions to solve this?
Thanks for your time,
Eric
I have 2 different apps on my android phone, One is stock, which came with the phone, and the other is a 3rd party. the stock one uses verizon and the other uses 3rd party for yahoo. When I get an email, on my 3rd party yahoo account
i get the message and the ringtone so that one works perfectly. On the stock app (verizon/aol) i sometimes get the email and ringtone and sometimes I do not(mostly not).
Is this an issue with the phone or is with the stock app with AOL/verizon accout?
Thx
