Phone won't boot, can't transfer files - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was helping my friend flash a ROM, he downloaded CM10.1 put it on his internal SD card he went into recovery and wiped data and cache afterwards he flashed the ROM and during that his installation aborted! he completed the same process a few times and still same thing. we decided to give up and just reboot, but the thing is now he's stuck on the Galaxy ace logo screen! so we went back to recovery and tried again.. same thing... again. we can't even transfer files since we can't boot up the phone!
Any suggestions? I'm really desperate..
EDIT: He used odin to get back to stock, It's all good!

Go to Recovery
Then go to mounts and storage menu.
then select mount USB
and then Transfer the required files
this way you can Transfer files via USB by recovery
And use CWM Recovery 5.0.2.6
ROM doesn't get flashed if you are using CWM Recovery 4
enjoy

[Q] Recovery from SD Card

Is there a way to download a simple/stock ROM from my computer to my SD card and then use the stock recovery to install it on my Droid Bionic? I rooted, downloaded the Bionic bootstrap recovery. I also installed the Th3ory ROM onto my SD card via my PC. Using the Clockwork Mod Bootstrap I wiped the data/factory reset, wiped the cache, wiped the Dalvik cache, and then went to mount and storage and did a system format so now I don't have the stock ROM anymore. I accidently rebooted and am no longer able to access the Clockwork Mod recovery and am only able to access the stock recovery. One of the options of the stock recovery is to apply update from SD card. I tried to use that to access the new Th3ory ROM but I get an error message that reads E:signature verification failed, Installation aborted. I also tried to connect the phone to my PC via USB but am not able to access the phone because of a driver problem. So I think the easiest thing for me is to download a simple/stock ROM onto the SD card and then access it through the stock recovery. I am new at this so I would appreciate any help in detail please to recover my phone. Thanks!
Look under development, check out the thread on flashing fxz file. First thread. I think it should solve your problem.
Recovery
Thanks for the info. I was able to install the stock ROM, use the Clockwork Mod bootstrap and then install the Unl3ash3d ROM and now the phone is working great! Thanks again!!
Glad it worked!

[Q] Cant install Stunner 5.0, Still have Root

Arrrgg I though I would do a super clean install so I booted into recovery CWM-Based recovery v5.0.2.7. I was on Stunner 4.5
I did a wipe data/factory reset. Wipe cache partition, wiped dalvik cache, wiped battery stats, wiped fix permissions. Went to Mounts and storage> format cache, format system. Froze on format system. Rebooted into recovery. Wiped all of the above again and also did a format sd card and format emmc card.
Went to mounts and storage in recovery and chose mount usb storage> got error> E: Unable to open ums lunfile (no such file) so I booted the phone normally. Starts up ICS fine. I try to connect phone with usb and transfer stunner 5.0 onto either sd card and windows hangs on transfer. So I turned off the phone, took my external sd card out, formatted it in windows (fat32) put it back in the note, and boot into recovery. Chose install from zip. CWM Recovery see's the stunner 5.0 zip file on my external card. I choose the zip and it hangs on "installing update".The install bar never fills up.
I was able to get back into my install of stunner 4.5, I still have root and I have mobile odin pro installed. How can I fix this so I can flash stunner 5.0? You know, before I was an idiot and formatted /system? Also, if I try to connect my note while in ICS, and transfer files to the sd card, it just hangs there on "discovering items". Like if it cant see the internal or external sd cards anymore.
I have the same problem but I was on Stunner 4.2. I am now in the CWM recovery and it can't flash anything nor restore backup since there are not in the internal storage and it doesn't want to mount USB storage. Is Odin PC a good solution ? And which file do I need to flash ?
yes, please flash back to gb stock
root + cwm kernel
flash ics repack
flash stunner 5.0 ( read clean installation steps in post 4 )
Working Solution as suggested
androidindian is correct.

Ok, can I flash any GB stock rom? I currently have N7000XXLC1_N7000OXALC1_DBT.zip ...and should I do it through CWM recovery or from Mobile Odin? If I do it from mobile odin I can keep root on the stock GB rom I have right? What do you suggest?
Edit: And you're talking about flashing I9220LP1-N7000-ICS-REPACK after Im on GB stock with root right? Just want to be clear.
I have succeeded in flashing Stunner 5.0.
I have just returned back to ICS Repack LC1 thanks to Odin PC and I flashed Stunner with CWM recovery after wiping data, cache and Dalvik cache.

What settings in Odin PC did you use to flash the LP1 repack?
In PDA, I put the ICS Repack LC1.tar
I ticked Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time and that's it. The phone was still rooted after that.

Ok but what about the phone did you connect with usb while it was booted into ICS or did you boot into recovery then use odin pc, or what? Every time I connect my phone to usb while in ics, windows 7 says I should scan my sd cards because they have errors. Thanks!
Edit: I know Im supposed to be in recovery to use PC odin but everytime I connect the usb cable windows 7 says USB device not recognized. So then Odin PC cant see my phone.

Yeah the bad thing is that my phone wont connect to my pc when im in cwm recovery so that means that Odin (PC) doesnt see my phone. Guess I will try to flash the LP1 .tar using mobile odin?
Edit: Nevermind I had to be in DOWNLOAD mode not CWM recovery mode. I now flashed LP1 repack using Odin (PC). Thanks!

[Q] Can get to recovery menu, but boot hangs at logo

I was trying to update to AOKP on my Captivate. I was running GB 2.3.5. I'm not sure what I did wrong, but I installed ClockWorkMod Recovery, then I added the zip file to the SD. Rebooted into recovery, and then tried "install zip from sdcard". It said that it was installed. I backed out and then tried to turn on the phone. Now I'm stuck at the AT&T logo. I finally turned the phone off after 2 hours of that. I can still get to the recovery menu, and still install zip from the sd, but I'm still stuck at the logo.
I've tried Odin, but it hangs at file analysis. Did I mention, I didn't back up anything? Only thing important to me is contacts, and they're backed up through Google.
Any ideas on how I can fix this. Point me to right thread if this is already covered.
Reboot into cwm recovery, Wipe Data/ Factory Reset, then install rom. If it boots afterwards to another cwm recovery, don't reboot the phone, just reinstall the rom from there and u should be good to go.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using xda premium
Still stuck at the at&t logo. According to CWM Recovery, SlimICS was installed. I'm really at a loss. Any other ideas?
Flash a stock, one-click, no bootloader, odin or heimdall package, and try again.
I was able to load stock ICS 4.0.3 Phone booted like normal. I was starting to freak out. Thanks for the help.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy I9000 Does not Boot

I tried to flash CWM10 into my Samsung Galaxy I9000 Device And here's what happened:
I got into the CWM Recovery screen and chose install from sdcard (after a wipe data + wipe cache factory ofcourse).
Everything seem to go OK, no errors or special things, but when I restarted the device to boot into Android OS, it just came back to the CWM Recovery screen.
Since then, I have tried to install many other ROMS and the phone simply won't boot to android OS.
I have also noticed that usually after a successful ROM flash, folders are created in the internal SD card a thing which DID NOT happen this time.
The only difference that the new ROMS installation does is change the CWM Recovery version/Mod.
So basically, I am stuck at CWM Recovery Screen.
I am clueless and I will really appreciate any thing you can.
Any thoughts?

[Q] accessing external SD from recovery?

So I rooted my daughters samsung SGH-T599N, and installed philz touch and was planning on putting a custom rom on the phone. unfortunately out of habit, I put the rom file, and gapps file on the external SD, booted to recovery.. wiped cache, dalvik and factory reset to install a new rom. Unfortunately this device will not access the external SD card through the recovery, and now the phone just gets stuck with the samsung logo when turned on (so i cant turn debugging on again).... I can't get odin, or any other program to read and connect properly.... and now I'm stuck... I have been searching online for several days now trying to find a solution, but have come up empty. Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.. I was even thinking to use adb to transfer files over but have been unsuccessful as of yet ...
sorry to burst your bubble but this exhibit 4g section is for T679 version.

do you have cwm installed? if so you could boot into that and in the advanced menu there's an option called mount usb storage. just make sure your phone is plugged into your computer boot into cwm and then advanced/mount usb storage, then open my computer and your external drive should so up also your internal I believe, so you could transfer your new rom and gapps to a new location of your choice.. though i'm not sure how you'd would do this on odin or other recovery software.
I actually had philz touch cwm installed, but I resolved the problem by flashing back to stock with odin in recovery mode... turns out this device just doesnt read external sd from recovery. adb push didnt work, sideload didnt work..lol . But good ole odin saved my butt again
this thread is a lifesaver---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2503550
