Test your battery for me, please - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Alright. I am still troubled regarding whether my battery IS dying or not.
So, I want you all (all = those who are willing to help me) to do a test for me.
1) Turn off the phone and put it on charge until it shows 100%;
2) Boot it;
3) Set the screen brightness to maximum (or minimum, if you're scared of burn-ins and such - but do mention, please);
4) Enable Wi-Fi and GPS;
5) Start Google Maps and let it run like that for 30 minutes (no screen-off). Just let it lock onto your position and stay like that, for 30 full minutes. Then, tell me what's the battery percentage your phone shows.
Alternatively, for a more fun way to do this... Repeat steps 1, 2 and 3, then play Temple Run 2 for 30 full minutes.
When you're posting your results, please tell me what ROM & kernel you had on your phone and also, don't forget to mention whether the screen brightness was at maximum or at minimum.
Thanks in advance!

It seems you were having this problem for quite some time. The best solution would be to buy a genuine battery from Samsung or look on ebay for a genuine one with original box.

can't help now - no GPS coverage in my building,
but - if by any chance you use Battery Monitor Widget - it provides some approximate info on battery aging, based on it's own battery history log, here is screenshot of mine - BBW claims it has lost some of it's original capacity, which might be true

The battery I'm having right now IS genuine. I'm just *having the feeling* (might not be true) that it's starting to die...

I am using BMW, and... I had the logs enabled for some time now - forgot to check later!! - and... well... see for yourself.
No aging? But much lower-than-2500 estimated...

[Q] Galaxy Note 1 bricked, inflated battery

Bought in November of 2011, my Galaxy Note 1 does not react to any (combinations of) button pressing anymore.
1. It was bought in Germany through Amazon.de; the so-called international unlocked version.
2. Absolutely no rooting.
3. How it got bricked (or dead): at some moment (while using) it stopped reacting and automatically reboot but failed.
4. What happened before: around one month before that, I found the original battery last less and less time, and what's more of my concern, the battery is obviously inflated, which might present a safety problem. So I bought a new battery through Amazon.com (actually two, but the first one did not work at all, so I bought another from a different seller; didn't expect that batteries can also have this kind of "fitting" problem).
5. What I have tried: I didn't spend much time in this because I didn't have much time. What I tried was to use Ordin to install a new (stock) system to it, but failed because Ordin said something like "connection problem". Later the phone cannot enter the download mode because it does not react to any button-pressing anymore.
6. Could it be that the battery is dead: I hope so, but it seems the battery cannot be charged (I tried to charge it for many times).
7. All those happened a few months ago. Today I happened to see the original battery of the phone, and found that it is amazingly so inflated that it looks like a balloon, and I wonder how could it be fitted into the phone if I didn't bought a replacement (and if the phone was not bricked, of course):

I had the same problem. I had to use a friends note to charge my original battery after draining it completely.
try to use one of those universal chargers.they're cheap(about 2 euros),but they to the right job. Or use another note to charge the battery.NEVER try use odin on less than 70% battery.

Poor battery life

My device is not very old. It's about 1 year now and battery isn't as good as it used to be. When I got it after school I had minimum 50% no matter what I've been doing and atm it's 24% which is disturbing.

Check for battery health in 7378423 to see if it had any wear out in battery capacity. Mine is 31460 (1+ year, when buy it is 32000, Sony is always add more to make the battery last longer )
And check for any apps that run out of battery, malware too (There are some Android malware which mine Bitcoin/Litecoin and make phone hot and run out of battery)
Also check your kernel setting or reflash ROM if nessesary.......
Mine is 1,5-2 day battery life with typical behavior.......
Well, my battery says 31440 when at 86% of charge. I haven't got many wake locks in betterbatterystats either so I'm not sure what could be the cause. I'm on stock kernel. Thanks for the heads up on that mining malware. I had no idea it went over to mobile devices. My phone actually gets a bit hot after some regular usage, but nothing out of ordinary I guess. I did lots of mods to the stock rom on my own so I'm not that keen on reflashing. I'd rather find out what could be the cause of that poor battery life and fix it by myself.
Any other suggestions and things to try?
You can reinstall your Firmware, and see if the battery life would be better. And my Wakelocks have i solved with the App DS Battery Saver.
Strangely enogh my battery was at 2880 after only 140 charge cycles.
Then by accidient it deep discharged (problems with not charging, hard reset etc. until it was fully 100% dead) and now is back at 3130 with only the first charge cycle counted as 1.
Not the case here since your's has a good number, but I wanted to add this information.

Awful S3 LTE (i9305) Battery - Discharge even system off

Hi Guys,
I have a very awful battery with my phone. See, even it discharge nearly 50% when I sleep at 12midnight (100% charge), when I woke up it already has below 50% battery. The phone is completely on a factory state, Poland Firmware 4.4.4 Kitkat. I even have bought a new OEM original battery and it just performs the same.
Also I noticed that cpu usage (developer options) are very high, but when I restart the phone it averages to 2.0/1.5/0.8 or something near to that values.
Do i have a problem with any of the following?
1. Bootloader
2. Kernel - but why it drains even if turned off
3. hardware
4. battery - unlikely because it is brand new. bough it around $30.
5. firmware
6. Baseband
7. Modem
I dont know, I've been looking around but cant solve this dilemma

You have exactly the same problem as mine?
I also got this phone I9305 4.4.4 ...... Using Anker 2200mAh battery and use wifi after every 5-10 Minutes and the battery timing for me is not that Good and not even bad
Strange. I don't think this could be a software issue, in this situation I mean firmware. Because, you tried several ROMs including stock and custom, and problem appear. Also as you told, you bought a new battery and the issue still occur. I am curious why it is draining even turned off. In my opinion, this is hardware problem, the mobo is faulty.

Do you try to watch what is using your battery with GSam, WakeLock Detector (WLD) or Better Battery Status (BBS)?

I think you're perfectly fine. Even better than me. I usually keep my 5G off - don't really need it most of the time and it drains the battery faster than 4G
Wanna trade?
But how long time should the battery stand screen on ,can it make screen on for 5 hr!?

What is the MiuiMix please!?
Put the refresh down to 60 or 90 , most apps I use don't support 120hz anyway.
I can even lower the resolution to FHD+ and it barely annoys me anymore
Especially if I know I want it to last the whole day
Changing from 5g to 4g helps a lot of if you're using it to navigate with Google maps, runs much cooler too

Something is wrong if you'd losing 70% that fast with everything turned down low, factory reset or new ROM probably best
This is a whine. Battery usage is different for every user. Depending on a variety of situations, like apps or features that autostart and/or run in the background, as well as refresh rate, how often you use the phone and type of usage, etc...

As a Motorola users for a long time, this is pretty normal actually. Motorola phones have excellent battery life - way better than iPhones. Iphone users are just over exaggerating that they have good battery. Add to the fact that most of them haven't used a flagship Android device or if they once did, it would most likely be a Samsung.

Great
ok thank you
Hi, how much SOT Can do Moto on mobile data? Thanks for rep.
Bluetooth and 4g all the time
from what i see battery life is good on wifi, when using mobile data it's not so good anymore, someone uses two sim cards and only mobile data and could show their battery stats
I got additional 2 hours of battery life when I disabled 5G, excellent.
Personally my phone's battery is so bad. I mean it lasts long enough but it just suddenly turn off at 20 or 18 or so. Other times it acts normally. Sometimes when I charge it, the battery percentage would stay at 100 for hours, then it starts going down and at 40 the phone dies
8hs aprox
