and it always shows me an error that sd card can't be amounted
I tryed reflashing it many times with different roms but it wouldn't work
So I searched this problem and I got to this soloution
Try this while in recovery (clockwork) via adb:
adb shell
mount /sdcard
su
parted /dev/block/mmcblk0
rm 1
rm 2
rm 3
quit
Now odin with repartition and your phone maybe will be resurrected

I have looked all over for the answer to this and I am at my wits end...
I have been trying out different roms and themes to find that sweet spot for me, and I think I have now. I know that alt+w on the bootloader only wipes factory data and such, and that if I reformat my sd card it'll wipe everything including my ext2 partition. But I don't want all of that to happen. I want to wipe the apps I have on my sd card but keep the music, movies, etc I have on there without having to uninstall each one thru a file mgr (I have 83 apps right now).
The problem I am having that is making me do this is that when I flash cyan3681 and start over at the adp screen where you tap the android, right after that it starts showing force closes for a number of apps, and it always opens open overclocker and kinda hangs there. On top of all that, at some point, it messed with some apps in my drawer and either won't allow me to access them anymore or it shows the stock apk icon with the little gear and the page behind it.
I just want a fresh start, without having to spend an hour(s?) doing it. Thanks for any help.
run this in terminal
su
rm -rf /system/sd/*

You would be running in recovery console so you would need to use alritewhadeva's method posted a couple posts up:
Do this before the above:
Code:
# mount -o rw /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 /system/sd
Thank you, that worked perfectly.

just "/# mount /system/sd" works fine

Hi guys,
sorry if my english isnt so good...
i'm in trouble with ADB..
i want to upgrade my swype keyboard on my NEW M1 rom eu....i got the 1.58 and i want to try the 1.60..
i found a thread on this forum with commands for upgrading the swype like this way:
Code:
adb remount
adb shell
su
pm list packages -f | grep swype
rm /system/app/<restOfApkPathFoundInAboveCommand>
pm uninstall <value after apk= found in result of 2 commands above>
exit
Install normally. If you want the apk in the rom:
adb push <newSwype.apk> /system/app/<newSwype.apk>
adb remount
adb shell
pm install <newSwype.apk>
(found here-> LINK)
I'm stuck at the beginning:
Code:
C:\android\tools>adb devices
List of devices attached
9000ec2a228b device
C:\android\tools>adb remount
remount failed: No such file or directory
my phone is rooted and in debug usb mode..I dont understand how can I go ahead...
what can I do?
thanks

we need to find the solution...but it's not easy..
are u using the NEW M1 rom too?
Rooting doesn't automatically give you remount permissions AFAIK.
i just use this command
Code:
adb push test.txt /sdcard/test.txt
and the copy is ok....i found the file in the sgs sdcard...
The command adb remount is for the /system directory (for set write permission) .... i think it cant find the directory /system on the phone......why?!?!

Are you using the internal ext2 lagfix? I think that causes problems with the adb remount command. It doesn't work for me either.
Same results using a different ROM?

No lagfix installed at the moment..i installed lagfix when i was on M2 but i think that reflashing removed the lag fix...is it right?

adb remount as well
Trying to remap hard keys, adb remount along with push and pull do not work. Depending on whether im in shell or not I get no such file or directory or file not found errors. I can change into directory of each of the folders im trying to work with, and look at the file but I can't push it from my tools folder(locally) or pull it from the system folder. Every tutorial I see has adb remount command first, which fails every time.
Samsung Fascinate
Blackhole-build your own rom
(also tried on jt's latest rom, same issue
Crazy
I'm having the same issue here too. I'm trying to get a custom boot screen on my rooted Samsung Infuse and I've tried every way I can think of and it wont take. Clockworkmod says successfully installed, but its not. Soon as I reboot I see the At&T stock boot. I've fixed all of my permissions and still no luck.
So I saw a solution to do it via adb by typing "adb remount" and I get the same thing u guys are getting. I've got a headache now. Done all I could, even typing "shell", "su", that all goes well then when I tried to push it "adb push bootanimation.zip system/media" I get adb: not found. Smh, is it a device issue?
i think ive got the solution
flash a new kernel..................................worked for me................
Hey guys,
i was unable to find a way to do this online, sorry if it's already out there. Link if you know a thread.
My problem is that I just sold my broken phone on ebay and need a way to restore it to factory settings. The AMOLED screen no longer works so i can't see anything. I really don't want my information left on the phone but don't know how to hard reset when I cannot see the screen.
I know how to do this through the bootloader, and will probably try that later this evening, but am not sure if i will be able to confirm the information is off of it. Is there a way to hard reset through connecting the phone via usb?
The phone is rooted and running MIUI mod. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
If you get into recovery (let the phone boot, and then from adb use reboot recovery), you can use the adb shell to go in and do a
Code:
su
rm -rf /data
rm -rf /cache
--and if you are sending the sdcard as well--
rm -rf /sdcard
rm -rf /sd-ext
This will completely wipe your phone except for MIUI. None of your personal data will be on there.
I just realized, you might need to mount those first. I think you can do that with "mount -a".
can someone please help. im pulling my hair out lol
im trying to fix a friends phone GT-I9000.
basically i get error in mounting sdcard.
after searching endlessly and installing 100s of stock rom. still no luck.
i have come across this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1253036
im hoping i can reset my partition on the sdcard.
but i can't get su permission on android sdk adb shell command
phone is in clockwork recovery mod when running the adb commands
i.e. this is the code i have to do..
adb shell
mount /sdcard
su
parted /dev/block/mmcblk0
rm 1
rm 2
rm 3
quit
Click to collapse
but it ends up like...
adb shell
~ $ mount /sdcard
mount /sdcard
mount: permission denied (are you root?)
~ $
Click to collapse
the su command it not recongised.... any ideas?
the phone will not boot into any rom. only option is recovery or download mode.
i have rooted it with CF-ROOT, which in turn installs CWM
HELP please!!!!!!!!
Hi , have you tried flashing a stock rom(with 3 files....csc , pda and phone) and also the odin pit512 file....repartition box checked also. screen shots and some download links in : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23213912&postcount=6
Yep. Tried lots of stock rom. Pits file. Repartition etc.
Looks like only option left is that command. If that doesn't work the SD card hardware must be bad.
Don't understand why I can't get su. I can't get rom to install. Therefore no debug mod
IIRC, I had same kind of problems long time ago..can't really remember what I did to fix it, but there is this "remount" command what needed to run before trying to run some shell commands. So try "adb remount". It's probably just for setting r/w permissions, but it's worth of trying
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk 2
ok gonna try that.
i did find a thread that said using this parted script but you have to put it across to the sd card. can't do that because its not reading the sd... lol
stuff ive done to date.
tried installing any stock rom. from 2.3.6 to 2.1 all diffferent type like JPY etc.
tried various settings on odin , i.e. re-partition, pit files, bootloaders etc..
ive rooted with ct-root to get clockwork recovery install.
its bascially not doing any of the installation on restart from a flash from odin.
i guess that means the flash rom won't setup/install lol
im at a bit of a lost end...
any way of clearing and remaking the partitions via odin??
remount
failed unknown error 0
this is getting annoying any ideas?
su not found
for the sake of answering my own question
by the looks of it my internal memory is dead. therefore returned under warrenty
i could install a rom by inserting an external sd card. but it was a bit annoying because it couldn't save photos etc.
Hi
I have a big problem:
I tried to change the image of bootloader and now when I turn on phone there is not any image, only lines on a black background but phone boot up and works.
I tried to change image logo.img in mnt/.lfs.
So i write it in terminal emulator
adb shell
su
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/stl6 /mnt/.lfs
cp /sdcard/logo.jpg /mnt/.lfs/logo.jpg
reboot
now my phone don't properly work.
