[Q] Clockworkmod recovery for ICS 4.0.4 - LG Optimus 2x

Hi to all...
I am using stock ICS 4.0.4 v30a. I manage to root it but i have problem with Clockworkmod recovery. I install CWM premium v5.5.1.5 but i can't reboot phone to recovery? When i press it from Rom manger "Reboot into Recovery", it reboot my phone but after restart and LG logo, it show CWM icon with exclamation. Then, if i press power and volume down it make ICS factory reset?
What to do to make CWM operational, because i want to install some other ROMs?
Thank you

There's a FAQ for every question you have. Consult that thread and don't open new ones that have already been answered. And always search!

As our dear RC , Chris , mentioned. Use Search next time.
Anyways , to answer your questions :
1. I found CM7 ROMS like GingerDx/PrimeHD the best of all I tried. But I recommend you to try both ROMS as user experience is different for everyone.
2. It is safe to unlock bootloader if your phone code is before 11W29. I am almost sure simlock status does NOT matter in unlocking bootloader.
3. Root the X8. Flash CWM. Flash ROM
4. To flash back stock , use PCC/SEUS. You'll get back to stock eclair.
5. The code is under the battery (but not on the battery)
thx. these are the steps in the good no.?
1. root
2. unlock bootloader
3. flash kernel
4. flash cwm (how to flash it?)
5. install zip n wipe data cache

Install CWM regular recovery image using CWM Manager (easiest) or by injecting the appropriate recovery image from here.
Tantrums and CWM touch recovery images have a few flashing issues, which are only minor and isolated problems, but none the less the have them (i don't know why).

CWM Touch 6.0.1.5 flashable zip

Hi,
I made a flashable zip that flashes CWM Touch 6.0.1.5 based on civato's method. It is the easiest method to get CWM Touch for free. I have tested it and it fully works. Only for ROMs that use the gingerbread partion layout I think, I have not tested it on the new stock ICS layout.
Simple installation ,
-Put the recovery update zip on your phone (externalSD if you got it) , go into CWM , select it and flash.
-FIRST REBOOT YOUR PHONE (not into recovery) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-After full reboot now you can go to recovery and enjoy !!!!!!!!!

It's for the gingerbread partion layout. So it will work both on stock and CM but only with the Gingerbread partion layout.

Are you using the recovery from Pengus
Read this thread the special recovery is required http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2058231
Then this is my fav at the mo for 4.2.1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2062573
Still quite buggy tho cm10 by pengus is currently perfect.

[Q] Help a newbie out

Evenin' xda!
I'm the proud owner of a non-rooted SGSA and I am having a couple issues I couldn't get my head around so I was hoping that you guys could give me a hand.
My phone's csc was MTL (not my country's csc) and since I couldn't find any JB version made especially for this csc I flashed one released for my country (COA). It ran really smooth for a couple of weeks but every once in a while my systemUI keeps freezing ,or I get some really annoying lag spikes while performing easy tasks like messaging through the stock app or browsing my contact list.
Now, should I flash some other version of JB , a more stable one, if there is such thing, or should I go ahead and root my device?
Would rooting help me out, and by that I'm asking you to tell me whether there are any stable custom ROMs and/or kernels that I could use? (this is where my inner noob kicks in, I'm pretty helpless )
Thanks a bunch !
P.S. I did try to search for answers but I couldn't find anything useful.
Root I would say is a much better answer to your problem.
Root your phone, flash cocore kernel and debloat your system ie remove unwanted files. This will definetely boost up your phones speed and your phone won't freeze.
If you want to.. you can also try CynogenMod 10.1

I tried this combination a few days ago and, lags was like hell!!
mannulko, I recommend cm10.1, cause aside from some annoying things such as low volume in call, it's very stable, but you could try some custom roms out there, you could try first version of harsh jelly with any of the cocore kernel, just try different versions and see which one suits you!!!
