So i just got my phone back from a JTAG repair service (it was superbricked) and now everytime I put it to sleep, it will not wake up. I understand this might be the sleep of death, but this one is weird. I get these tiny green pixels that slowly turn white and eventually my whole screen in white. My buttons still work, when i press the volume buttons i hear the sound, the touch screen is working too, i just cant see anything because my screen is white pixels. I have to soft reset to turn my phone on again. PLEASE HELP ME! THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Did you try a different ROM? Was it any different? If not, then I think you have to go to the Samsung service center for fixing that.

Can someone please help?
the phone is not turning on via the power(end) button???
try pressing the camera button and keeping it pressed, also press the power button to enter into hboot mode...if u succeed in entering that mode, the phone is fine, or else it could be bricked.
Try Home+Power see if you can get into recovery mode.
If you can wipe cache data.
Hi everyone, hope it's okay to post this here since this Question relates to mine.
I'm having a trouble like this except instead it's like my backlight went out, it was working fine until my alarm on my phone went off and when I went to turn it off I had to take the battery out of my phone because the screen wasn't pulling up. It flashed basically, so when I put the battery in the screen came on but no backlight. Could it be due to Cyanogen? I'm restoring my backup to see what else could I try?
could u be a bit more specific?phone is working??? calls etc???or are u stuck somewhere????
As I said, the screen came on but no backlight. The phone works fine except for the backlight I'm trying to figure out if it's a hardware issue or a software issue. I don't know how much more specific I can get really except that the only way to see the screen is to hold it at a certain angle so the light hits it just right.
Help. I was in a Facebook message conversation and I tried to send a picture from my phone to my friend. When I did so the screen turned black (notification bar was still visible) and nothing would respond, be it the power button, home button, whatever, nothing worked. So I held the power button until it turned off and and then tried to turn it on. It seemed to boot but after the splash screen I just got a black screen. I pressed the power button, the home and back keys flashed for a long while and then it turned off and now it won't turn on. If I plug it into the charger it also won't react, no charge light, nothing. It doesn't even get warm.
Right now I DO NOT have the money to get a new phone so if anyone can help me I'd greatly appreciate it.:crying:
Oh, forgot to mention that everything is stock, no roots, no mods, no nothing.

What happens when you press the power button + the volume down button? That should normally bring you into the bootloader. From there you could do a factory reset.

Plug you phone into the computer, have a look in device manager does it say QHSUSB_DLOAD ?
if so you have a hard brick, theres 1 of 2 things you can do, you can try this and risk voiding your warranty (if its still under warranty......http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2770684
Or you can send it back to where you brought it and have it repaired / replaced.
Well, there's no warranty and sending it in would cost me around a hundred dollars in shipping plus the return shipping plus any repairs so that's not really a viable solution. The power button and volume down didn't work. I had actually tried it. Didn't get a chance to try the QHSUSB_DLOAD thing but I doubt it as I had gone through all the updates in sequence and the last one was whenever the Sense 6 update came out so it had been fine for weeks with no hitch.
Yesterday I went to the places that fix phones to see if any of them could help and then suddenly at one of them (the first one wanted me to leave it with them and I didn't feel they were trustworthy enough, the second was about to try to open it without even knowing how so I stopped him before he could break it, the third one wouldn't even look at it and suggested I send it in to the htc repair center which doesn't exist in this country). At the 4th place it miraculously started working but I don't know how long it will keep on that way.
Thanks for the help and the suggestions.
I have problems with my htc. I was charging my phone when screen turned black and now the screen is always black, can't get it to work. I can not even perform hard reset. Can someone help me?

Try to rest by holding up+power for about 30 seconds.
If you plug it in does the led turn on?
Hey, I received a notification on my watch, so as I go to look at it (the screen is always on mode) the watch is frozen in ambient mode. When I hard reset it, the screen just goes black but I still receive vibrations upon various actions. Any ideas? I really hope the screen isn't dead. There have been no other signs of damage...
The watch is connected to my phone.
Can you enter in recovery? Try a factory reset.

Well I mean I can't see anything on the screen so I'm unsure how to go about doing that
The device also does not appear to have a reset button at the back
Press the button of the watch loooooooooong, until it starts and stops vibrating continuously (first you will feel a short vibration then a very long one.... you need to keep pressing the button while it vibrates for the long interval as well).
After the long vibration the device will restart ... IF you see the LG logo, swipe from top-left to bottom-right of the screen ...

Thanks for the suggestion, but the screen remains black. Note I also do not feel a short vibration beforehand.
Sorry .. the short vibration will be felt only if the watch is awaken. From the dim mode it goes directly to the long one.
It seems that your watch has a problem. you can try to access it through ADB (if you enabled it) or you can just leave it until it will become completely depleted and try to revive it again afer that.
see this post: here
activate warranty is the current solution
I have the same problem, with no warranty so the watch is just sitting there for now
Hi,
My note 8's screen got damaged a month ago, but
from past two days the power button seems to be
unresponsive.
I have to press it atleast 10-15 times for my screen
to wake up.
Even if the screen doesnt turn on by a single click,
the usual touchscreen functions still work.
Ex: I can still open the particular app by clicking the screen
on the specific area.
Kindly help.

There's nothing any of us can do to help you when it's a hardware issue like this. You need to open the back of the phone using a heat gun to loosen the glue and then take the power button out and replace it with a new one.. There's nothing else that can be done and I would suggest that you not shut the phone down or let the battery die out because then you may not be able to turn it back on until you get the power button taken care of!

Hi MrMike2182,
Thanks but let me elaborate the issue.
The power button seems to be working fine because it takes approximately 10 to 15 clicks to turn on the screen (sometimes 1 or 2 click)
Let's say that I click the power button and the screen doesn't turn on, the screen functions work fine despite showing black screen.
Ex:
1. If I click on screen location where samsung music is placed and open it, and if I and click on the location of the play button, it plays the music just fine.
2. If I click on the restart button when the screen is black (not turned on), the phone does restart. The Samsung logo lits up just fine. (Mensing to say, the bootup process is not affected)
Also, note that if I successfully manage to turn on the screen after clicking the power button 10-15 times and if I put it to sleep again. I can easily turn on if I click the power button immediately (within the span of 2 seconds).
The problem persists only if the phone is kept I'd for 5 to 10 minutes.

Ok based on what you said now I don't believe there's anything wrong with your power button and when you press it and the screen doesn't turn on, in reality it actually is on and it's possibly damaged which is why you can still use the screen functions with the black screen. Whatever type of damage you say happened to it could be causing the backlight to not work but the screens touch function is fine.. Try rebooting into recovery mode and select to clear the phone's cache only and see if it helped anything.. If it doesn't help anything it's pretty much a screen hardware problem and you'll still have to get into the phone's internals..

Thanks,
Unfortunately, even factory resetting the phone didn't work out.
Anyway, I will take for service.
Hopefully it might resolve the issue

Since the factory reset didn't work, then unfortunately it really is a hardware issue.. I think you need a new screen..
I have the official led cover case, just opening the case will turn the screen on... Just a temp fix until you can get it repaired maybe.
