As we already know android by default doesn't support connecting to ad hoc networks.. But is possible in custom roms like cyanogenmod etc.. Can someone Plz tell me how to enable it in our s advance jelly bean? Thank you.

Like the title says. Need rom like that. For now ad hoc only works fine (without stuck on obtaining ip adress on some cm9 rom + castagnal kernel v.6.6. If I use kernel that comes with rom than I stuck obtainin Ip adress but after flashing castatnal kernel v.6.6 it works. On gb rom i can.t evan see if there is som ad hoc wifi.
P.s. before I9001 my phone was x10 mini pro. And on custom gb rom i got working ad hoc wifi. Than means it is possible and for this phone.

yes i did but its not working with cm10 jb but it was working with cm 9 ics why is tht ?
same issue with CM10 Alpha 6 by Ivendor (for SGS+ I9001). Connections to ad hoc networks were working fine in CM9 (also the Ivendor builds), but they are not visible anymore in CM10. Also other sources report about this problem (I'm not allowed to post outside links, so try to google for "cm10 connect to ad hoc" ), so this seems to be a problem in the CyanogenMod upstream.
Time (and one of the heroic modders) will bring a fix, hopefully.
Good Evening All,
I've search XDA and the internet and I would like some help, please...
After installing several different ROMs I still cannot connect to the 5ghz wireless network in my home. I have an ASUS Dark Knight RT-N66U with two separate networks 2.4Ghz/5Ghz.
I've tried this from ROCKET ROM JellyBean v3 (which is my preferred ROM) but no luck. I've rooted my wife's SGSII and she's running SlimBean and cannot see the 5Ghz network either.
The strange this is that our friend has a SGSII running stock GB and the device sees the network...
I'd hate to have to got back to ICS (oh, BTW, I'm currently running Ultimate N7000 XXLSC JellyBean 4.1.2 v5.1).
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks - can a mod move this to Q&A?
You should play with the router channels a bit.
It also depends on regions. Not all regions use the same wifi frequency so try to change modem.
