I've downloaded the browser via the website from within my Tilt and it downloads and launches fine... the program is great.
But when I close it, there's no indication of it anywhere in my phone. It's not in Programs, it's not even in 'Remove Programs.' I've browsed both the device and the Storage Card (where I had it installed) and it's nowhere to be found...
I've also went back to the website and attempted to reinstall it but the program recognizes the previous installation and then launches. But again, no luck with trying to run it later on.
I know a bunch of you have had luck, hoping someone has stumbled with this and found a fix.
Thanks!
Dude,
Opera Mini 4 is indeed a java application and you'll find it when you open up Midlet Manager (or whatever the java manager software is on the Tilt)in the Programs menu of your device. Start/Programs/Midlet Manager, then you should see the Opera Icon.
Hope This Helps
C.
Thanks! After looking in Tools, I saw the eJava icon and sure enough, it's listed in there like you said once I ran it.
That's what I get for coming from a non-WM set of phones... lol.
Glad to help! Don't worry everyone here has been a WM virgin at some point. I have to say it's very hard to give up once you get used to how the software works and also when it doesn't!!
take it easy

Im Not Really Sure How To Do It But I Have An Idea
Wat Is The Website Called
.JAR and .JAD files install almost like a CAB file and to get to them you open up the JAVA application in your phone under Programs, usually shown with a big e and says Java

i'm gonna try KDKobes method. if anyone gets these to work, please let us know.
glad to see some interest in this one
IT WORKS!!!! ok, very simple to do actually. just pick a game that fits your screen (320X240)
KDKobes said it right. programs/esmertec jbed/menu/install/localfiles
the first time i did this i was asked to save to root. can someone please help me save these to a place on the SD card. i looked around and cant find the "root"

Probably one of the biggest collections I know of.
www.mobile9.com
I used to get .jar's there when I had my P900 and Symbian. But they should work on the wing too, if the screen size is the same.
thanks... some games uses 1 3 7 9 and etc... so when i push my my wing i can't see half of the screen on the game... something that sucks about it.

Ah, another ex-symbian user. I used to be a S60 user, though. I had the Nokia 3650. That phone was weird... I still can't believe I used that keyboard... but it was actually pretty well designed. Ugly... but well designed.

so were you able to install the games? because i did the same thing you did and when its finds it, it takes me to this screen where it shows a root folder. upon doing so when i press install it says that the file root or something is not located. i'll provide some screenshots later on after work.
open touch v5.3 is working flawlessly for me. you should give it a try. it will take some time to get use to but it's just as fast as one of his lite or micro versions IMO.
absolutely

yes i have installed games and i have been playing them. most of the games work, about 90%. make sure you are selecting from the 240X320. as far as the local root folder issue goes, just create a folder when prompted. i'll try to use the screen shot software and make a walk-thru for ya.
maybe this will help
i attached the screenshots. i couldn't figure out how to get them to show up nest to the text like other people do, but whatever. anyway take a look at them and feel free to ask any questions.
good luck
nevermind....i guess they show up like everyone elses. i'm a genius
Thanks
I will give this a try when I get home. one question, how were you able to place the jar/jad files in the folder that you have created?
In need of some guidence
I downloaded the Jad files onto my desktop computer and placed them in the storage card. Opera/Esmertec Jbed finds the files but it gives me the roots error message ..

The Jad is only the installer. The Jar is the actual game file itself. You need both.
thanks
thanks i got it to work, does anyone know where the bible thread is? i want to run 3D games on the wing but EsJ won't let me
3D games?
i'm glad to see you have it working. let me know if you find the 3D thing you are looking for and a game that you can use it for.

Hi,
I recently bought a program called mobiletide. It enables you to see what the tide is anywhere in the world. Great for watersport/sea fanatics! http://www.mobiletide.co.uk/
Does anyone use this? If so how on earth do I access the program?!? I have it installed but it does not work! This is the email sent from the company;
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Will, you need to find the shortcut command keys with the handset (*) and
(#) on your keypad will action the same command as the conventional soft keys. it does take a bit of research but all the commands are there to navigate/select, etc.
Regards,
Dan

Not much use/help! Any suggestions welcome!
Cheers in advance,
Will

I am confused - It installs it into the JBlend program. It runs on Java. Do you have it working on your device?
Will
oh right, sorry didnt realise it was Java!
no i dont use it
if you open Jblend, it should be there in the window that opens.
My guess is that William is asking how to use the program because Mobile Tide is expecting a normal mobile phone keypad and he hasn't got one so he can't issue any commands to the app
Am I right?
EDIT: @William, It looks like MT uses the D Pad for menu navigation and sets up on screen soft keys (I'd try it but there's no downloadable demo ), maybe you could describe what happens when you start the app.

ctide doesn't seem to have any U.K. locations in the database, not very useful if you do your sailing in England/Wales

I can't it to work anyway - according to the website; 1.1 should have eliminated the bug I am experiencing! Loads and then crashes. I won't bother trying to sort it out anymore but try and resolve my current mobiletide problem! Thank-you very much for all your help.....

Hi Will, I don't have GRemote but from the highlight on your Programs screen it looks like that was also running.
How about a soft reset and look for Mobile Tide again?
Go into to Programs>All Programs, find Mobile tide and run it again.

hey guys i did was wondering if this would be possible. Is there any way to answer intercom or page someone over windows mobile device? I need program like that so bad and i cant find nothing close. Thanks for your time.
Can you elaborate a little .... "answer intercom or page someone"????
What are you trying to do?
I guess you want it to work as a walkie-talkie?

at&t's version of this is the Push to Talk. Costs extra.
Other than that I suppose you could try and setup Skype on your phone, but that's not really walky-talk type stuff. But it avoids voice charges.
may not be what you're after but i was playing with parlingo yesterday specifically the voice chat and when i sent a "voice note" to my buddy it played the message without him doing anything. now we already had a chat session opened (didn't try without it being started)
It's possible

If you've got a bluetooth-enabled intercom, it's possible. You could do it with a wire as well.
As for paging someone, you could text them.
If you want a walkie-talkie style device, there's a program out there (I forget it's name, but found it using Google) that lets you do this using the WiFi connection on your phone. Works okay even with full-duplex voice communications.
If you give us some more information on what you want to achieve, I'm sure we'll be able to help more.

4Talk is the one that I was referring to earlier. Thanks for pointing me back at it!
It'll work over infrastructure or ad-hoc wifi networks, so with a bit of configuration you can get it to work just like a walkie-talkie.
Sorry if anyone started such a topic, I couldn't be able to find one.
Does anyone have any difficulty with G-Sensor? It act as like it is flipped in games for me. I use Perfect View(er?) to read comic books and its all ok but when I launch a game which uses G-sensor (I mean screen not orientated by game itself but changes depending the Kindle's position). Anyone has any solutions or same problem?
