Help please. After trying to reflush my old firmware with Odin, it got as far as OSM -All threads Completed, (successful /0 ,Failed /0)
It got stuck in there so I had to remove the battery and try again but it just keeps doing the same thing. After disconnecting from the computer
all I have now is three small icons on the screen: one tiny phone, a triangle with exclamation mark and a computer. I downloaded Odin and the correct firmware from this site, so what has gone wrong and how do I proceed?
Many thanks
You need to enter download mode again and reflash

Hi,
Thanks for that.
After several trials, I did manage to get back in download mode and managed to flash the installed Firmware 2.3.6 without any problem.
After resetting, everything seemed to be working fine. However, I left it turned off overnight, switched it back on again this morning but
nothing has changed. My original problem was that on switch on, it takes ages for the phone to activate. I get the welcoming screen
that goes away, comes back for anything up to 5 minutes until it eventually goes on to full screen and everything works well.
So what is causing this problem and what else can I do

I turned my phone off like normal last night. The phone is rooted with 2.2. I have anti virus etc on it to make sure i dont do anything nasty to it. I went to turn it on this morning and it got into a loop when it got into the main screen it got to a loop where it loads up all services and then vibrates and retries to start all services.
I shut it off and have rebooted it and same thing continues to happen. I cannot get into the apps screen to reset the phone and when I try to reinstall the root pkgs in the recovery screen i Get a red message saying cannot find update.zip or whatever the extension name is. I am not sure what to do here. I Keep pulling the battery out and resetting it but same thing is happening its booting up but keeps looping in the main screen.

Try flashing Ezbase with repartition/pit file, and it should put you back to working order. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991792

So you've opened ezodin, entered the 3 files into the right sections(PDA,PHONE and CSC) and entered the pit file in the Ezbase post, then put your phone into DL mode and plug in. Then flash. The repartition should remove the lagfix. Give it another go..
i cant the phone wont turn on now
Do you have download mode? Or anything? Does the screen light up at all?
nothin just a dead phone

Try taking battery out for 1/2 hour, replace, then try entering reload mode again

If nothing comes to screen your phone is totally dead. You must send it to samsung unless you have Riffbox or other JTAG device.
Hello, today I tried to change the ROM, unfortunately, after this phone has turned on, and display the icon of the PC, Phone and triangle in the middle. There is possible to go to download mode, but Odin stuck on amss.mbn download....
There is possible to rescue the phone? :/
Try flashing another rom. Don't worry, it's not bricked or anything.

Yes, just flash a 3 file stock rom, and if it Odin gets stuck, try reinstalling the USB drivers, or a different firmware. You really have nothing to be worried about

It happens. Just put the phone in Download mode again and flash again. It happened to my few months back, when flashing a SGS for a colleague of mine.
Hey guys,
Last night I rooted my GT-P7310 8.9 WiFi. Today I downloaded ROM Manager and when I hit backup my screen went black. Now, every few seconds I'll get the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 screen and then a bunch of vertical lines and then it goes black again. It won't reboot or turn off. Any suggestions?

I would not use ROM manager with these tabs.
Can you get into download mode? (volume up + down + power)
I can get to Download mode, but it doesn't do anything.

I really hate to be a bother, but can you direct me to a thread that can walk me through this? I've tried going through Kies, but my device won't connect. Thanks.
Just check out the general guide up above. It's chock full of useful information on rooting, loading Roms with Odin and changing recovery.
I can't find anything to help. It won't go into Restore mode. If I click on it it just goes black. I can get to Download mode, but it won't do anything. If I plug it in and open Kies, it will only try to connect if I'm in Download mode, but it won't connect. It just times out and says to reboot the device. Is this thing salvageable or is it toast?
Ok, after doing some more reading, it seems that it is fixable, if I can get it to connect to Kies. Anyone have in ideas on what to try? It doesn't even attempt to connect to my tablet until I put it in download mode, and then it just runs until it times out.
I'll help you tomorrow.
Download odin and your stock firmware in the meantime

So I, (like apparently many other 5830D users) was having the bug where it would randomly restart for no apparent reason.
i read that froyo did not have this issue, and figured id give it a shot. i downloaded the ZSKC2 2.2.1 files and loaded them into odin with cooper_v1.0.ops, connected my phone and hit start.
it said it installed everything just fine, but when my phone went to reboot, it didnt.
it flashed a black, blank screen for maybe a second and that was it.
so i tried to go back into download mode on it so i could reinstall the firmware it had before, and i couldnt get it to work.
it would turn on the screen, flash the "downloading..." text for a second, and then turn off the screen. it was weird, because the text was white, not the yellow it always seemed to be. odin recognized my phone for that second, but that was it. once the display turned off, the connection went away. i've tried other usb ports, but no luck
is there any way i can fix this? or is my ace bricked for good? i have no warranty with it because i bought it used.
ive read about a USB jig, will that help?
please, any help at all would mean a lot!
1) You should have taken the bill & the warranty card from the owner you bought this phone.
Coming to the point, it appears to me that there might be a problem with your battery, but I ain't sure about this. Try using a different battery with your phone. Also, are you sure to have used the odin & stock rom for S5830D & not S5830 ? Check these aspects first. If you've got them right, then there'll be either a multi-package or a single package filed stock rom for your device. You can google for the exact odin flashing, try again to boot into download mode again & flash. If your phone fails again to go into the download mode, use the search option here on xda to find out the issue with your phone or the best thing to do would be go to the service centre & tell them that donno what went wrong & this happened.

okay, i tried the battery from my other phone and got it into download mode, i installed the stock rom and it is working again, but the reboot problem is still there!
is there any way to fix that? i have a feeling it might have something to do with the kernel, other roms still reboot and apparently froyo doesnt, the only thing common between all the gingerbread roms that i can think of is the kernel.
i have flashed S5830,T,L,B roms with no issues, but the reboot still occurs. cyanogen hasnt helped either, do you have any clues?

After flashing via odin, if you face a bootloop, reboot into stock recovery & do a factory reset & reboot now. It should work.

..but it is not tuck in a boot loop. its doing what the stock roms did; it'll boot into the rom fine, and you can use it, but once it goes to sleep the phone restarts itself.

If you are having this issue with the froyo, try it out with GB. If the issue prevails, go to service centre. Sorry for repeating the same thing again & again but that's the best I could say of it...
