Thank you mod for making that post funny!!
Apparently Sony are rather unhappy with the Strause brothers for doing a MS/OS2 scam on them and basically ripping off this film to produce Skyline.
Will they survive and be trusted in the future, or will studios look for other companies to do their SFX/CGI?
I love this kind of movies.

Ingress Discussion

Lets start a discussion of the game.
Share your experience.
Request invite codes from other N4 users.
Share some tips and tricks for the game.
Sent from my Nexus 4
So far, personally, its boring... + I don't go enough places to be walking around collecting.

Why would this be "Nexus 4 General bro?"
Ingress is an App, hence "Nexus 4 Themes and Apps.."
But If you want to be specific, this topic does not belong in any Nexus 4 Sub-Categories since its not directly related to Nexus 4, and can be download & used on other Android Devices...

I got an invite pretty early on but unfortunately I can never find the time to play it. You need a lot of free time to properly get into it.

Granted that the General Forum is better suited for arbitrary discussions, this forum is not limited to the dev of a theme or app.
That said... if this topic was a discussion regarding the app's compatibility/issues/performance on the device, it would surely be better received in this forum.
Yes, you need free time, but it's a very nice game.
What I don't like about it is that it's eating battery like crazy.

If what you said is correct, there is +500k application why not open thread for each application? or go to Android Development forum and open 3 or 4 threads asking about what is the best ROM? and see how they will react.
And yes, its for developers to share their applications and experience with others.

Android Development has rules for it's forum indicated by the stickies, there are none in this forum limiting it dev only threads.
Until you become a moderator, your rants are simply your interpretation of what is acceptable and not necessarily relevant nor warranted. I will not be participating in any further debate regarding this difference in opinion, as I find it ridiculous that you choose to monitor a thread that you obviously disagree with in hopes for some kind of affirmation of your viewpoint.
Good day.

I would imagine that the battery drain would be akin to running Google Maps while walking around the town.
I am still intrigued and would be interested in feedback regarding the game play on the Nexus 4.
My experience... got my invite code, had a quick look and thought to.myself, wtf is going on here. I haven't opened it since.

The battery drain is definitely heavier than using Google Maps. If you want to play you would need an external battery pack to carry around.
As for the game in general, I've been doing runs, attacking enemy portals and upgrading ally ones. Over here in London, there are a lot of popular areas where you can get through 20 to 30 portals just walking around for an hour, so it's been pretty easy for me to grind. If you really want to attack strong enemy portals and create huge control fields, you would probably have to team up with other players in your area.

It runs pretty smooth on the Nexus 4. (Uninstalled Shortly after installing, due to battery drain, and high lack of interest in playing - not enough time to spend walking about between work and other responsibilities)
Installed the app on an old myTouch 4G Slide, and its pretty sluggish (lags, & loads slow) but surprisingly the battery drain is not as quick as it is on the Nexus 4

Moved to General Section.
I feel it is more suited in the general section than in Themes/Apps. As the OP opens the thread with:
"Lets start a discussion of the game. Share your experience.
I'm still waiting for my invite code. Arg. It takes forever, been waiting for 3mos."
That being said. Lets get back on topic and talk about Ingress.....
Thanks
Got it. It's boring so far not much walking done where I live/ work. Would be cool off I could do stuff driving, bit when you drive, no blue stuff appears.

Don't forget to uproot the following:
> AT&T LG Optimus G > Optimus G Themes and Apps > Ingress
> AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II > AT&T Galaxy Note II Themes and Apps > Ingress
> AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III > AT&T Galaxy S III Themes and Apps > Ingress invite code?
Can't fault the OP as they were merely following the protocols established 3 months ago in the other device threads.
I have a question I just got ingrees code today and I was using it and my battery goes from 80% to 65% in like 15 mins is this normal because I like the game but is a little confusing
My nexus 4 is about 20% cooler than yours

Here's a public folder for your pictures...

Here is the deal, and here are the rules...
I have created a public folder for anyone to add and/or delete photos from, on my Google Drive. Possibly stupid? Nope, because I own it, and have the final say when to cut off uploads, etc. So, here is how this is done...
1 - You may post ANY pictures you want. NSFW IS allowed, I repeat, IS allowed.
2 - Once you post something, you may not delete it, however, you can delete someone elses photo if you wish.
3 - I will be turning off write access to this folder, either on April 1st, or when the drive is full, whichever comes first
** There is currently about 8 GBs of free space still
4 - Once this is done, I will update the OP with the 10 photos that I have favorited myself. Should one or more than one of these be NSFW, they will be PhotoShopped with black boxes so that they can still be posted here.
5 - Upon being posted here, I will also update the OP to show a poll for favorite of the 10. Based on votes cast at the end of April, the upload winner will get something of use for their cellphone/tablet from me.
So, should the MODS actually allow this post to stay, I say...Let the posting begin!!
What can I post?
Answer, Anything you want. This can be food, nature, cars, girls, guys, houses, the sky, water, your creepy neighbor, that NSFW of your ex, yourself, etc....
Why am I doing this?
Answer: Because I am bored. And I'm curious what people will post when there is a prize involved, or without repercussions of said upload.
IMPORTANT
Given that this is a public folder, go ahead and share the link and get others involved too. Why not.
Anyone can view the contents of the folder, but to add or delete, you have to sign into Google
EDIT: Because Google tracks whoever uploads, I resolve myself of all responsibility of what may be in this folder. You would be wise not to post any pictures of persons under the age of 18.
Great idea dude, i like it! :good:

You can subscribe to this thread... And since it's public, you can share the link with anyone you wish. If you share it though, please share the rules as well. As far as following on G+, I'm not sure.
I'm going to update my sig to reflect the link to this thread as well.
Interesting concept. Nevertheless you could imgur. I find Google Drive clunky for pictures. Also imgur has unlimited space.

I'm only using Google Drive, because I already have it, and it allows tracking of the uploader, come gift time. IDK much about imgur. :-/
2.2 Nudity: XDA is used by people of all ages, including minors. It's not acceptable to post nude/pornographic imagery, which includes exposure of the male or female genitalia or of female breasts.

Sorry guyz, this is clearly a way to circumvent the rules of XDA. NSFW is not allowed in here, so thread closed.

What would be your next choice if there is no NEXUS 5

Just wondering what is your guys second choice of available no phone out there if nexus 5 never come?

I'd go for the Sony Xperia ZL. It's inexpensive, unique, and has pretty decent specs.

This thread isn't as useless as the others I've seen. I'd keep my S3 and try out the 5S. Yea I said it.
Nexus 4 for sure. it has everything i want in a phone.
Kinda redundant as there WILL be a N5 but I'll play along. I'd simply stay with the N4. It works...very well. N5 is new Nexus toy, thus, I must have it!
I'd stay with my N4 for another year
Guys, please, this is pretty much OT talk. xda is mainly a dev forum, not a discussion forum. Discussions are ok, but this thread is useless.

4.4.3 Thread Locking

Don't see the point in locking any thread that pops up about the bad journalism again today. I mean the general forum is for that...has always been the garbage collector for the forums. Seems kind of communistic of XDA to have its mods do that. Just makes no sense. Well it does make sense considering how XDA has been migrating the last years or so.
It's because threads pop up like weeds everywhere. People can't just reply, they have to start another thread and it gets out of hand.

So merge the threads. I'm not sure why commenting about T-Mobile updating their site to show the 4.4.3 update is illegal. The threads will continue to pop up because every other thread gets locked and there can never be any discussion.
In b4 lock also reported.

It doesnt get out of hand. They pop up...users chat and communicate then they fizzle out. Always do. No reason to go straight into communist mode.

I'm of the mind that you have to fit in with the community you share, not the other way around. If you opt to join a community that doesn't work how you want it to, then you need to simply find a different one. It's not an emotional thing, nobody hates anyone else, it's just a matter of fitting in socially.
XDA keeps a tight reign on thread topics, content, and direction. That is the decision of the community moderators and thus, the community at large needs to abide by it. If any of us don't like it, then we can move on to find somewhere that better suits what we're looking for.
I've been here for a while (contrary to my 2010 date), and I've seen the moderators back in the day let many, many things slide and it could get really chaotic, really fast. I remember when ICS hit, there was a point where I had to go 3 pages in to get past the multiple topics of ICS release, it was crazy. Also, the moderators are here on free time, and if you've never moderated a community of this size, I'll simply say that "merging topics" can take awhile when you're talking about 30-40 (which happens if you don't keep on top of it). They do their best, lock what they can when they can, and move on with life.
for the TL;DR crowd, it is what it is, if you don't like it, it's time to move on.
I joined a community back then that sadly has been migrating to the negative way IMHO. Used to be a contributor that helped people regardless of if its a dumb repeated question asked 100 times. Sadly...its not like that anymore.

but I think its about conditioning users to not post stuff like that. Just doesn't bring any value. Even when one thread is left open to discuss rumors people keep posting to it for updates until it finally happens.

every single dev here was a noob. i know because i was here a few weeks before android was released(got my g1 2 weeks prior to release), and i personally helped a countless amount of people that have become "devs" here, when they were noobs. id say most devs here were noobs within the last 5 years.
So why don't the mods make a future firmware thread for discussion. This way it's all in one place.
I came from the note 3 and I swear there was thread for every firmware for every region. The mods did little and it was a huge mess.
Ended up not looking in the General section ever again.
Also they would post a new thread for cyanogenmod every time they saw it mentioned on the internet.
But I would like to see one thread for discussion.

No those aren't noobs they are driven users, noobs don't care about advancing or doing more. They just want their answer nothing more. I learned by SEARCHING AND READING not creating a thousand threads on any of my old accounts.

Uhh, a free forum where anyone is allowed to register and post having rules enforced is communism?
