[APP] Epic Citadel {Amazing Graphics on our little phone :)} - HTC Desire C

So this app has been around on iOS for three years now, but has only today arrived on Android.
130mb download can be quite a hassle but I think it is worth it. To clarify: this is a game, (well sort of?) in which you can explore a town/castle with the surroundings. It has no real gameplay or missions or anything, but it's nice to know what amazing graphics our little beast is capable of
Play Store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.epicgames.EpicCitadel
Graphics are really amazing, screens taken from my phone attached
Oh yeah, before I forget, you can also use the app to benchmark

wow nice pics. do you use the jellybean drivers that have just resurfaced in this section ?
If not perhaps you could try them as see if theres a difference.
I do use the drivers and have as habit when they were posted , i just have all this sort of stuff backed up on my pc so just pull it when I need it.( I still have a Nameless v5.05 backed up with the original OC's In case the new offical rom ended up not as good as the old rom nameless was based off .:good:

Jb drivers indeed, they are pretty awesome
Sent from my HTC Desire C using xda app-developers app

Jellybean drivers don't add more fps instead it lowers it by .4 or .3 in some gpu benchmark app making it slower than the original htc ics egl drivers.

screen looks bettter tho

find a fully working version of ICS for the IncS then we'll think about JellyBean.
ICS been out since last year, only until recently we've seen some better roms on xda, i'd give it till next yr for JellyBean if anyone is still developing for the IncS then.
This might make HTC release the source faster when they realize that they are updating to an old os

I think it's strange we dont have an official CM9 nightlies for our phone
there's loads of unpopular **** phones that have it ...
I'm guessing we're still struggling with hacking the proprietary camera and graphics drivers in our phone. The only 99% stable ICS roms i've found are the Sense 4.0 roms (and even those FC when trying to take pictures at max res). I much prefer AOSP, but it crashes too often when using graphics intensive applications.

Samsung galaxy tab 1 and 2 has official CM9 and both don't have ICS sources
the 7" tab1 is gingerbread oficially, but remarkably everything works in CM9
The 10.1 inch tab 2 (GT-P7100) is honeycomb and in CM9 the camera doesn't work
So your statement seems invalid ...
Am I the only one working on this, or does anyone want to join me on IRC? Dev help only, there won't be any test files or anything to flash, so there is no use saying "Yeah I'll come in!" if you just want a file to install, I need someone who can help with making the right edits to the init files, cause after 5 versions I can't get past the bootsplash.

Sent from my NexusHD2 using xda app-developers app
How does it work compared to GTA 3?
CPU/GPU/RAM are not only problems with such games, touchscreen only recognizes 2 touch points at the same time which degrades quality of playability by far (IMHO), but with bluetooth joypad (dualshock 3) is pretty much playable with all settings on low.

You should consider that HD2's chipset in 2009 was good as Adreno 320 today.
It's just old, it doesn't suck. When I had HTC Tattoo, I learned to live without Gpu so now, when I have it, it's good enough for me.

The fact that it's old doesn't change the fact that currently it sucks. It justifies the poor performance, but can't change it.
So this means that vice city doesn't work on hd2?

I agree with this guy, give up on trying to do HD gaming on an HD2. It has an awful GPU, you'll never get anything heavier than Temple Run to run at a high frame rate, and even that isn't anywhere near as smooth as on a 3rd gen iPod touch (don't know about the earlier versions).
No but nfs most wanted works perfectly on it why can it run gta :what:

Im investigating doing a ROM For Everyone and learning in full the Android Infrastructure.
Sadly I no longer own this phone but I will try to open up this can of worms
There goes our last melon.....
Who said i'm getting a new phone? Nah the suprise is still in the works, so far it is stock themed, but im not going to release it like that, if all goes to plan it will have an awesome theme, with super smoothness.
It supports all kernels, including stock, 725mhz, 77xmhz, and 806mhz.
I am creating wallpapers and testing to make sure it is stable and bug free, however This rom will be very app minimal this meaning only the core apps are there freeing space and speeding up the rom things such as facebook, teeter all the bloatware is gone.
There is support for 3D home screen swapping and hopefully support for link2sd soon.
It should be out by the end of the weekend, if not early next week because I have college to fit inbetween.
Be prepared for the ReVoLuTiOn!

Im just about to test that, the rom feels very smooth as of now too.
If you need any testers just ask! We need a change from nameless and explosion!
Sent from my HTC Desire C
You would think this device would be more popular since it's dirt cheap... but I guess the specs don't excite rom developers, people prefer raw performance rather than efficiency. Maybe this device has already hit its limit in optimizations...
I don't think it has, as said before i'm new to compiling and modding things on android, it will take a while I think but hopefully it will be faster than nameless. Currently the scrolling seems liquid smooth and I have tweaked the graphics drivers a little for that extra little bit. However To add some tweaks what i need I can't make a update script that works, but it should be fixed soon once I know how to do it more im learning bit by bit.
People who want too test PM me, I have a couple of testers but i'm not releasing any beta until my theme and tweaks are sorted out.

[Discussion][2.3.7] Cyanogenmod 7

This is a topic that discusses the possibility and pros/con's of having a gingerbread rom on our desire c.
Personally I think that gingerbread is like CLASSIC android, and 4.0+ is More MODERN android.
I have absolutely no experience in building Roms so I ask the developers here to maybe try to build something more old fashioned
I am willing to test any and every ROM made.
What do you guys think?
I feel that we have run out of Roms to build in android Jelly bean so why not try something old but fresh!

Thanks that would be awesome!!! And to all the haters (me, and brnt) not everyone likes the way android 4.0+ looks. I personally like it but I like 2.3 better...
Pros / Cons of gingerbread:
Pros:
- better menu look
- faster performance on our hardware
- less bulky than jelly bean (animations, apps, etc)
- more classic of android
- AWESOME 3D GALLERY
- Officially supported hardware
Cons:
- less smooth as jellybean
- less app support
- less RAM management
Sent from my HTC Desire C using xda app-developers app
Pros / Con's of Cyanogenmod 7 (not the stock GB features)
Pros:
-more customization than cm10
-(currently) more themes than cm10
Con's:
-less "spin offs" (Provision, Etc.)
Sent from my HTC Desire C using xda app-developers app
Why would you downgrade a device to software that is 2 years old? If you wanted to get 2.3 buy a wildfire S... The main selling point of this device was at the time it was a very cheap and good quality handset running the latest version of android which was 4.0! And gingerbread was old and looked outdated compared to modern day Android (entirely opinion though)
The points you made with stock gingerbread were mostly opinion, and about the jelly bean being bloated (which I agree with) remember that the HTC Desire C came with stock ICS which was smooth when coupled with sense. And I think someone can port the "AWESOME 3D GALLERY" if it hasn't been done already.
It would be great to see it happen, but what's the point?

If you want GB ( Not CM7 ), you can port stock rom from HTC Explorer. Desire C and Explorer have same chipset, so the ROM will boot and function out of box. Only, BT and WiFi wont work at first. You can fix that later.

Well I like your idea of having something classical. And no I am not a hater, I'm just stating an opinion.
That is why its a [Discussion]. What I recommend you doing is to learn how to do stuff on your own and not rely on others.
I was curious about kernels, so I learned. I mean it shouldn't be that hard to follow a guide.
About GB
me too ... i wish theres a GB/CM7 roms here... .. .but it is more smooth if it is a plain GB (doesnt have a Sense) ... and also about the kernel?? what kernel we should flash?

You should use kernel 2.6.x for GB. For that you need to port Explorer's 2.6.x stock kernel source to Desire C, just like we ported 3.0.x kernel for Explorer from Desire C.
