Hi everyone,
I have a really weird problem.
yesterday I came home and my phone didn't connect to my home wifi.
so i tried turning the wifi off and on again but it didnt work..
other things I tried were wiping cache, dalvik cache, factory reset, I even restored a backup from a different rom but the problem wouldn't dissapear.
I was on cyanogenmod 10.1 PRO in the beginning. the backup I restored was PAC-Rom from nims11.
My computer had some problems too and it said DNS server not responding(or something like that) but it works again.
So is is something with my phone or is there something wrong with my router?
forgot to say: I also tried reinstalling wifi drivers on my ace with *#*#526#*#* but when I type the code it simply dissapears.
Thanks in advance!

Hi guys, I have a big problem, every time I disconnect my SGS from the pc my phone goes crazy and gives me FC's and none of the bottons work unless I take out the battery it will stay giving FC's for a while and then it reboots and keeps looping the reboot procedure.
The only way then to get to my phone is by factory reseting and deleting dalvik cache and battery stats via CWM. btw I had this problem since my first MIUI (1.7.22) and I've updated it every week but still no change.
Does any of you GURU's have an idea about this, it is really irritating, because practically I can not connect the phone to my pc to exchange data, with the original Samsung Android I had 4 or 5 ways to connect to my PC (Wi-Fi, DLNA, AllShare, USB Data Cable Samsung Kies and Samsung Kies AIR), but now I can not connect with any of those mediums.
.
try flashing it from 2.2.1froyo because if you flash miu from gb you will get lots of fc's, flash to froyo 2.2.1, then go to recovery mode, wipe data, datadata, cache, dalvik cache, and system and then do a fresh install. ive had problems like that before and it was because i came from gingerbread the bootloader wasnt correct to flash miui, also try fixing permissions from cwm hope it helps
I am comming from froyo, but thanks anyway, your reply gave me an idea.
I'll try another ROM, maybe cyano or maybe something more exotic like F1 SGS II or Fasty.
Have your tried ejecting the phone from your PC USB menu before unplugging it?

Yes, Sometimes it helps but most of the times doesn't have any effect at all!
Hello,
I have problems with my i9000. I am using MIUI 1.11.11.
The thing is that since yesterday I have serious issues with my phone. It happened before upgrading to new version of MIUI.
All apps started to crash, there is no exception. Starting from Google Services Framework untill standard bluetooth app. Every single one. I can't even check any e-mails, messages, I can't even make a call because calling app crashes too. I can't receive any calls at all. I rebooted phone, cleared caches, upgraded phone to MIUI 1.11.11 and nothing. I can't use my phone anymore.
When I pressed "Report problem" I saw for a second log with problem it said something about "data I/O error".
I think the issue is somehow connected to sdcard since I had problems with it before. It was always hard to connect my phone by usb cable. Actually... it was always hard to DISCONNECT my phone. I had to wait looong minutes (about 20 or so) till it finished disconnecting.
If you guys could help me, I'd be glad.
Thanks in advance,
v.
Cwm Recovery - wipe data factory reset, have you tried that?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16612037#post16612037 -ยป I've used this guide and never had problems
I suggest you to reinstall MIUI wiping via recovery cache, dalvik cache, formatting /system and factory reset!
I have searched for the past thirty minutes and have not found a solution so i decided to post in the place where every person seems to know the answer to every question. Anyways, my tp succesfully got set up in ICS and WIFI turned on at first for me to do my original setup, but after rebooting to flash the charger fix and new kernel, my wifi will not connect. I tried a fresh install to make sure the kernel was not the issue, to no avail. When i try and slide the wifi on/off switch to on it just slides back and clicking on the button does nothing. I also tried to add the power widget to the main screen and hit the Wifi button from there, but that was also borked. Any help would be appreciated.
Try setting your router to a specific channel I put mine on 9 and it works now. I was having wifi issues after reboot but after setting the Chanel on my router they went away
If I forget my network, then reboot, then reconnect it seems to work fine. I tried a few other "fixes" I have read about and nothing else seems to work for me at this point...
The problem is not my network, its the fact that i cannot hit the "on" button for wifi

The OP did make the problem clear!
Looks like a reinstall may be needed.
try fixing permissions from CWM.
If that doesn't work, I suggest to have a look at the logcat entries while trying to switch on and off the Wifi, you may see the reason for the error there.
What version of CM9 is intalled? did you install any special kernel? What channel is your wifi on? (I changed mine from 11 to 1 and it's stayed connected for days now!)
Try a full cache and dalvik cache wipe in ClockworkMod. If that fails, then do a full wipe, re-install and try again from scratch.
This happened to me when I updated to Alpha 0.5. I had to go back and reflash the bricked kernel which i previously installed. I think he made a change to the wifi settings and if I remember correctly he told you how to go back to stock cm9 if you wanted to. But if you installed bricked before that's your problem, reflash it in CWM
bricked kernel uses a different WIFI module, so you need to have both in sync (kernel and driver).
If it worked on first boot, I presume he didn't change the kernel, so something else must be causing his WIFI to fail (fail to start, not fail to connect)
As we mention before, I will go for permissions, cache and get a logcat for the error
Permissions did not work so I wiped and started fresh for the third time....well I guess third time is a charm because I am posting from the TP right now thanks guys.
The wi-fi worked just fine until just now, when It's suddenly stuck at "obtaining IP address". I rebooted both the phone and the router. Any ideas?

Try wiping Cache + Dalvik-Cache and Battery Stats...If it doesn't work, just reflash the kernel or the rom. :good:

Wiping the cache may cause some issues with apps. Final Fantasy 3 as an example. Wipe the cache and all the game data + save data will be deleted. Other than that you shouldn't encounter any issues.

I wiped the dalvik cache and the cache partition, now it's stuck at the boot screen...
Edit: nevermind, it's back, but it still doesn't work unless I switch to static IP. I'll do that and try a wifi fixer app
I had something very strange happening to me... went to my parents' house and I wouldn't get wi-fi on my O2X no matter what... so I pulled up my laptop, flashed latest temasek's rom and it started working fine!
And my O2X didn't have any problems with wi-fi at my place... or at any other place so far... so, be aware, strange things can happen.
Hmm,
I'm not quite sure what's happening but factory resetting the phone through the settings menu itsself does absolutely nothing ... it shuts down the phone and EVERY SINGLE SETUP (wifi, calendar, apps, everything) is still there after reboot ...
Same happened to factory reset through CWM 6.2.0.8 ... I flashed another rom after wiping it (took long long long time +-20 mins or so I think) and everything is still there, wifi, apps, you name it...
Can't think of doing anything wrong here
Problem with my Z or ... got no clue

yesterday I tried wiping through CWM in order to install another rom (romamur), weird this was all my apps were still present ...
thought they'd be gone, but they weren't, so I though "hey, perhaps something changed (came from galaxy S2
now today I tried it through the reset option in the settings menu, it said to remove apps and such, guess what, nothing happened, everything still there ...
note: I'm on stockbased rom (romamur, came from deodexed rom first)
no clue what's happening
Anyone ? :/
