Hello,
Does anyone know if its possible to dual boot a droid bionic with Android and WP8 OR if I can just put WP8 on my Bionic instead of Android? Thanks.

no, there is none
Hello,
First of all, sorry if the question has already been posted, but I didn't find anything.
I got OTA update to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 few days ago. I am looking now into rooting my Razr I.
I saw a few threads about it and I found (this post) but I do not want CWM. I want to keep the stock recovery for OTA updates. So is it possible to root without CWM ?
Thanks,
Alex
AW: [Q] Root without CWM ?
You can always flash the Stock Recovery back, in case of an OTA.

No, at the moment, that doesn't seem to be possible.
It's possible on RAZR M. Why can't be done on RAZR i?

By all means go for it. But you must realize there are major differences to the internals for the devices and not just being 1 letter off in name means they will necessarily work on both.
Intel x86 and ARM7 are quite different.

You could just try that RAZR M JB root and see...I'm due to get my RAZR i in a few days so can't do it yet...

I meant they modified the ICS-exploit to be working on JB. I didn't say that we should use the same version, of course our version (for RAZR i ICS - motofail2go_razri.zip) should be modified in the same way. Is it so difficult?

Is it difficult to make new root exploits? Sure. Ask anyone who has made their own true exploit if its easy....

Have you read the link I posted before? Germanese said it wasn't so difficult - just replacing two apk's. But if the vulnerability used by the exploit is specific only for RAZR M ROM then it's clear that writing a new exploit for RAZR i isn't an easy task. But in this case it's strange that Motorola fixed this vulnerability for RAZR M and didn't for RAZR i.

If you tried it and it didn't work, that's just the way it is. You have no reason to be sad, you have no idea how many people on the XT912 and XT910 would kill for an unlockable bootloader and understand its necessary to root.

Will anyone be porting the moto x os to our phone I can post a link to the dump of it if that would help get things moving
Sent from my Matrix HD running ... I don't even know anymore
I would be interested in this. I don't know how to port so even if you did post a link I wouldn't know what to do with it

It can be dangerous flashing firmware meant for another phone even if the specs are similar or even identical. Each firmware is made specifically for each phone. There are a number of things that can go wrong by flashing firmware that was not made for your phone causing you to hard brick it. You need to consider partition sizes, the bootloader, and the boot image just to name a few. Replacing the boot image with one from the AHD won't guarantee the phone will boot and if it does end up booting the phone will most likely not work properly.

If you don't know what you're doing and have not tested it yourself; please don't post anything that will cause others to brick their phones.

Sorry, misunderstood what you were posting. Thought you were going to post flashable firmware based off the Moto X. If you were I would urge you not to. Would just cause a lot of issues with people trying to flash it.

No no I'm not that stupid lol I'm gonna deodex this then post a link for others and I plan to build a moto x ROM but base it off Mexican retail and try to implement as many moto x features as possible

Don't think there's much good in this.
The main moto x features revolve around the architecture of the x8 (such as the google now feature) and the amoled display (such as the active notifications)
It has a customized snapdragon processor but the problem is that the Moto X has two additional cores for handling all of the "always running" sensors, such as the mic and gyroscope. If we did port it, our battery life would be KILLED due to these long running sensors and the lack of a low power third and fourth core.

I'm trying to root my Verizon Droid Maxx. I got the apk and directions from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2444957
However when I run adb install, I get the following message: Failure [INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_INCONSISTENT_CERTIFICATES]
I searched the forums for this error message and came up empty. Anyone know what could be the cause?
Thanks in advance.
UPDATE: I also tried to copy it to the phone and run it directly from the phone. The error that I got then was "An existing package by the same name with a conflicting signature is already installed."
Why are you posting in this forum? There is a forum for the Droid Maxx.

The DROID maxx is a derivative of the Moto X. And so far there isn't a forum for it alone. I think you are thinking about the DROID RAZR maxx, which is a different phone.

The maxx is more like the ultra than the X. There happens to be an ultra forum. You will get better help over there.

Does anyone know if a Droid Turbo rom or system image can be flashed onto a Moto Maxx phone? Really like the VZW Droid widgets. Thanks in advance.

I would highly recommend against that. Someone sent me their system dump a while ago and I may be able to pull just the widget for you, if that's what you want (although, I thought the Moto Maxx has the same widget that the Turbo has?).
Thanks. Actually I saw a thread with the apk of the widget. Gonna give that a try first.
