Echo (Echooo....Echooo....Echooo...) - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi XDA'ers
My wife got an unlocked i8190 from carphonewarehouse on UK Vodafone in November last year. As it still has relatively low volume sales I have not been to find an answer online so would be grateful for any input.
Not every time but almost, and seemingly more often with mobile to mobile calls the caller at the other end gets horrific echo of their own voice. (i.e. if I called you, you hear your own voice echoing) the caller finds it very hard to hear the Siii mini caller. Bizarrely this is rectified by putting the Siii mini on speaker or using the wired headset.
This makes me thing the mini's front speaker/earpiece is feeding back to the mic somehow. (As far as I know previous samsung echo issues were at the galaxy end and related to noise reduction processing. As the mini has no secondary mic nor noise reduction this is not the issue here). Oh the sim is fine in other phones and my 02 sim (fine in my Sii) causes echo if used in the mini.
Anyone have any ideas of a fix? Anyone had similar issues?
Cheers Tom
(read on for a thursday night rant.............)
Attempts so far; I initially updated to the latest firmware OTA (nonewipe) and no change. Then I went to the Samsung Smartservice at Westfield's Samsung store where they used KIES to update non-wipe and still no change - strangely there was no echo with their landline but then I called the guys SIII and he said it was awful.
So they sent it to their service guys (intercity telecom, birmingham) who took 7 working days to full wipe the device and reflash i8190XXALL2 (BuildJRO03H....) which I think is what it was already running.
Surprise surprise it is still echoing. The receipt said 'could not replicate fault' (If so why not contact S Smartservice or me?) Smartservice said they could not replace the phone until the third failure to repair. I tried to call intercity today and was told I could not speak to an engineer as it was a closed workshop. Therefore I should apparently send the phone back to them again with no guarantee of a different result. Brilliant, why can't Smartservice contact them to sort this out?
I also spoke to carphone warehouse who said that they need to send the phone to their engineers, if they can' t fix it it will be passed to samsungs engineers (brilliant as it has already been to them!) and then will be back within 28 days. In store I was told if the fault persists, it will be sent back twice more (28 days each) before an exchange will be considered (after phoning customer services we were told two weeks then to samsung if not fixed an exchange immediately). The latter sounds more reasonable, but the phone has done this since day one and borders on unusable. We have had it for 11 months and it has been away for almost 2 weeks, either way (intercity or carphone warehouse) we would be without the phone for 1/2 it's life by the time a replacement is offered, presuming it cannot be fixed.
Any advice if no solution is forthcoming?
Cheers
Tom

Take it back and don't give up, this clearly is a hardware fault. I don't have this issue on my S3 Mini and I don't believe anyone else has it for that matter.
Be persistent and they'll have no choice but to replace it.

I am having the same problem and sent my phone back to Orange who said they had solved the problem, with software and shielding. But my problem continued, as with Tom, until I took the cover off. This was a Supergets Black Wave Hydro Gel Case I had bought on Amazon. I have yet to discover whether other cases will have the same effect.
The hole for the microphone was not completely aligned and I have enlarged this but I am told by those ringing me that this doesn't seem to have helped much.
Maybe this helps,
Alan

S3 Caller Voice Echo Solved
I'm disappointed with my S3 Mini had it two weeks and same thing. From scouring the net it seems it doesn't matter what cover you use it has the echo problem. try this ............... while you have the other person on the line, twist the phone with it's protective case ever so slightly and hear the caller tell you how it goes away and comes back!
I think the tolerance of clearances between the phone components and the case is a problem.............. Samsung couldn't care!!! how they actually managed to take the cellular market worldwide is beyond me especially since it seems several models of their phones are having this problem!
seems like the phone suffers from mechanical feedback through the casing ( adding a protective cover applies some force to the phone casing and causes feedback!! tolerances are way too fine!!! )
I eventually fixed it myself, I took the back cover off, took some of that plastic ( pink polystyrene like ) foam that you find computer hardware packaged in and cut this to size to fit the back side of the speaker. I cut a tiny square out to fit over the mic too.......... the purpose of this is to leave some air between the case and the speaker and mic!
seems to work, if you try it and it works for you let's hear about it
good luck

Many thanks to Kramski. Initially the polystyrene round the speaker didn't change anything but worked well when I added in a piece over the mic

My friend has S1 and he has the same problem. It looks like some samsung models have this problem.

Almost all models and faulty productions, just depends how huge the issue is. Second or no second mice, still you would have to open split your phone to isolate the mic from the rest of it, align rubber mic cover part as IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN and add more insulation around the speaker as the case is resonating, being made of and is rather lightweight and not adhering perfectly to the battery and the phone body at 100%.
I cured my S2 in 10 minutes, never had such prob with it again. My kid's S2 nor my wife S3 mini presented the same issue.

This is crazy. In my Galaxy S III mini the "echoing" problem was ... in a 2$ plastic cover. Not the phone battery cover - but a case cover. Checked this several times with and without so quite sure. Also with cover case on, when on speaker phone there was no issue - so it looks like the sound was passed from the speaker/earpiece -> ear (attached to the speaker) -> cover case (possibly resonating) -> microphone.
"Drill" a wider hole for the microphone and this is gone, just 2c

[Q] No Signal at all after replace the housing

After the replacing of my X1's housing with the new one in the SE Service center I went home gladly with my new X1 housing. I noticed there's an error in signal in my X1 when I was checking my phone at the SE center.. But I thought it was maybe due to poor reception thus I neglected it. (the officer in the SESC say so)
Now I know that there's some new problem arise.. Any idea what might cause this error? the phone can read the Sim card but there is no signal (no connection, no call or no data can be made). i try to check the antenna module, but it seem to be OK (i did not see any problem on it).
the next day i came to the SE center, they said it might be something wrong with the software (since i am used using cooked rom) how come it can make any different while i'm using it before i replace the housing. and they have to take it into the HQ. and guess what, it may take another 6-7 week... WTF
is there anyone having the same problem with me?
Well if you have the tools, you can try openingu p the bottom cover, that little rubber thing where it has the mini sony ericsson logo. Open that rubber up, and you should see a mini screw in the middle, open that up take it out, maybe just give it a quick clean, fit it back properly, and make sure everything is tight and see how that works out.
I've seen/heard a few people having such issue when taking the housing off, and not placing that radio/reception thingy back properly, therefore causing issues with reception.

I did it twice, just to make it sure that everything was on their place, also try to flash the ROM, The Radio but still remain the same....
any other suggestion or idea what should I do?
Same problem!
I had disassembled my phone by myself twice; the first time it worked perfectly, the second, unfortunately, it didn't!
I bought a new antenna module for U.S. $10, installed it myself (warranty ended three months ago), walked out of the service centre and voila; I had reception and managed to make a few calls. However, on the way back home, all calls placed while driving dropped every 5km, which means the hand-over between cell towers was failing. The moment I walked home it was dead; no reception whatsoever indoors.
Now the way I see it, this could be due to one of the following two reasons: either the RF power amp failed, which means that most probably the phone needs a new main board (too expensive, not worth it) or something went wrong during the assembly, like the smearing of a sensitive part by skin oil (thus causing a short circuit) or failure to position a connector or multiple ones to connect properly to their respective terminals/connection points.
Upon further investigation, I noticed that my phone wasn't properly grounded; whenever I connected it to a computer to sync using ActivSync or in disk drive mode, I got a small electrical shock (painful though) whenever I touched the phone. This, however, doesn't occur at all when I connect the phone to the wall charger. I disabled USB charging since day 1 of owning my X1i
I believe that the battery cover acts as a ground for the phone electronics; it touches four golden connectors which in turn touch the mini USB port, the GPS/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth antenna, a point on the main board half an inch away from where the loudspeaker is, and the metallic cover placed over the phone RF chips. Failure to ground the phone properly can result in either damaging any of these chips, building up a static charge that affects the antenna performance, or an open-circuit condition for one of the many systems on board.
Since my phone is fully working as a PPC now (PPC functions, Panels, Keyboard, Camera, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc...) and since I get reception outdoors, and since I have a brand new antenna module, I am guessing that either the RF amplifier is dead, or the housing is ****ed up beyond repair (i.e. it can't be aligned perfectly to get perfect contact on all said points) that it's either shorting a connection, or opening one that is vital for the cellular radio to function properly.
So what to do? Well I forced my phone to do two things:
1. Settings > Phone > Band
- Network type: I chose GSM instead of Auto, as we don't have consumer CDMA in Egypt
- GSM/UMTS Band: I chose the correct band for my provider instead of Auto.
2. Settings > Connections > Advanced Network > Disabled HSDAP
What happened? It worked indoors for a minute, and then stopped working again! Frustrating! So what did I do? I ordered a completely new housing off CNN and will attempt to rebuild the damned thing.
I will update you if I find out anything or reach any results with this phone that I love so much and hate more than anything I have ever hated in my life...
More info!
- During the drive mentioned above, the phone was switching between H, E and G, which means that all three RF chips are, or all components of the whole RF chip if it's one responsible, are working. At one point I got 4 bars of H and call quality was perfect between hand-over failures.
- Before disassembling my phone for the second time, people were complaining about high-pitched static; it can blamed over the mic, the RF (antenna or chip) or humidity levels (which are currently as high as 85%) affecting cellular communication channels.
- Flashing the firmware (R3A Generic UK) and hard-reseting didn't solve the problem.
More Info!
- The battery cover isn't the phone's ground; it's grounded by being connected to four ground points: the mini USB port metallic frame, the GPS/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth antenna ground, a ground point on the main board and the metallic cover over the sensitive RF chips.
- This is definitely an assembly problem. The reception is great outdoors switching between all bands and speeds. On my drive to work today it worked getting G, E, 3G and H all in 4 bars. The signal, however, is completely unstable, jumping from one speed to another. I am more inclinded now to believe that a new housing will fix this problem. Your housing was probably handled poorly at the service centre, which in turn caused this problem.
My advice is to shake them a little bit and see what they will do.
A New Housing didn't fix it!
I purchased a new housing from CNN. It came in good condition. The phone looks brand new now but still no signal. I am sending it in for service. I guess I blew up my Power Amplifiers...
Good luck mate!

Same problem haa...
I still waiting for a good news from the service center... I have been waiting for a month..
I wish You a good luck too...
I'm having the same problem. I opened up my phone a few days ago to clean the keyboard. The bottom row wasn't working correctly. Unfortunately after I closed it up again, it wouldn't get any reception (and the keyboard's bottom row was still not working correctly).
So I figured it was the antenna and tried to reposition it. I even removed the rubber layer as described here: http://blog.whitesites.com/How-to-Increase-Reception-on-Sony-Xperia-X1__633958291637656250_blog.htm
Outside I get ok reception, but it's far from stable, inside I get none. And even if I get reception inside, once I pick up the phone, signal drops. So I thought about grounding as well, problem is I even tried rubber gloves and that doesn't solve the problem. I'm afraid replacing the antenna's won't help here and my xperia is dead. Anyone has any other ideas?
Been there too!
I tried the same solution the blog explained. However, I ended up not getting any signal at all. It's only after I purchased a new cellular antenna+buzzer module that the phone started getting an unstable signal outdoors.
Did you notice any small pieces falling off the main board or the housing? It's either a hardware failure or a simple short/open circuit situation that can be fixed in a blink of an eye!
Question
Is there any possible way, hardware or software, to test whether all chips on the main board function properly? I tried the diagnosis tool available here but it doesn't check the chips one by one.
Service Centre
I took my phone to the service centre 6 hours ago. With the new housing on, and new screws that I scored from a secret source of mine, they deemed the phone untouched and serviceable; i.e. it passed for a phone that hasn't been tampered with!
They told me to call back in four days. I will keep you guys updated. Cheers!
I wonder if that'll fix it So to summarize you have:
- new housing
- new screws
- new vibramotor
- new antenna
And those things twice and that fixed it maybe?
I guess it's time for a new phone for me
Vibramotor?
Who said anything about changing the vibration motor? I installed a new antenna + buzzer module; i.e. a new cellular antenna and a new loud speaker (external speaker). The loud speaker is housed within the antenna module. My bad, maybe that part was vague because I never explained it enough.
And yes, it has a brand new housing too. I only installed the lower part though, as the upper part is just fine. Maybe they will fix it man; maybe they won’t I really don't know. I do hope they will fix it though.
I am currently using a backup cheap Nokia and ordered the Sony Ericsson Aspen. If they ever fix my X1 then I can change seamlessly between both phones. If not, then I will just use my X1 as a media/GPS device in my car and an Internet device over Wi-Fi.
Lucky you..... if they can fix yours in a few day... since mine has been in the service centre more than a month, without any news...
they said to me that it will take about 6 week...
What a joke!
The phone remained at the service centre for a week. They called me yesterday, and told me that the phone was fixed and that the total cost was EGP 100 (~U.S. $18). I went over and as soon as I held the phone in my hand to test it, it lost the cellular signal. When placed on the counter, the phone had a constant E signal.
I asked to speak to the manager, who told me that they just reflashed the phone with the latest firmware (Generic UK R3A, which I already had installed). Oh, and before that, he said he was sorry but the phone had a hardware problem and that they don't fix hardware; they only flash firmwares and if that doesn't fix the phone, then the user is pretty much on his own! I refused to receive the phone, so he gave me a refund for my money and promised to have its hardware checked and get back to me in 24 hours!
What a joke, what an f'ing joke! I already regret ordering the Aspen that is due to arrive next week with a friend of mine returning from Paris...

OMG...
I do hope that you will get the good news next...
Bad News!
Deep breath... Ok!
Here is the deal: the service centre officially announced that the fault lies within the Mainboard; i.e. my guess that the Radio Frequency (RF) Power Amplifier Chip is toast was correct. They want to charge 90% of the phone's original retail price (which was EGP 4000 = U.S. $700) for a new Mainboard. I replied that that was impossible. They will contact SE's HQ and get back to me on Saturday to see if they can offer any other alternatives.
I guess that is the end of my ride with the X1. I will sorely miss it; it was a great phone while it lasted. Let's hope that the Aspen won't die on me in a year as well...

People hear echo during phone calls

Hello everyone
I just bought a Galaxy S4 Active and people started saying that they hear an echo of their voice every time they call me or I call them.
I tried different things. I noticed that every time I remove the back cover the problem is gone, then I put it back again and the echo is back. I unchecked the noise reduction option but nothing happened.
Does anyone have a solution for this? :crying:
My 1st S4 Active did that, brought phone back and got another one.

You might want to call Samsung....I was told that it was a hardware issue, that's why I ended up with a replacement thru AT&T.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It has not happened with our Active yet, but we have had the echo with multiple other phones... in all our cases it was dust that got in the microphone hole, took a needle and just very carefully cleaned out the hole and it took care of the problem. No clue if that will help you or not, but can't hurt to try!

I had the same problem, and came to the same work around. However, as previously stated, it is a hardware fault and the best thing to do is to contact retailer or Samsung to try to get the unit substituted. I got mine substituted without any argumentation when contacting my retailer.

Broken Microphone/Speaker?

Hi guys,
Got a gold HTC One Mini 2 about one month old, pretty much brand new, When I make calls I cannot hear what they're saying and sometimes they can not hear me. It's only sometimes when I can hear somebody but sometimes the person I'm calling can't hear me and it's just a crackling noise.
It's running android 4.4.2.
I was just wondering if anybody has any ideas? I googled and it seems to be a common problem with the HTC One but I cant find anything on the Mini 2. I read that it's just a software problem and that an update would fix it.
The HTC has a 2 year warranty so there's always that but obviously I need my phone especially to make/receive calls.
Hope somebody can help, much appreciated, thanks!
I'm experiencing the same problem here, on a 2 day old One Mini 2. Tried to contact HTC about the problem, first in the online-supportchat and then in the Concept Store in Copenhagen. No solution unfortunately.
I had the microphone problem with my OM2 - loud crackling most of the time, but occasionally it worked OK, giving the impression of a bad contact or dry joint. As it was within the 14 day trial period, Vodafone UK replaced it with a new one which has been fine.
I've had 2 One Mini 2's and both failed with a faulty microphone, both were bought from Amazon so there was no problem getting them swapped. Aside from that it's a lovely phone, but I can't recommend it.
4 HTC One Mini 2's in 7 Days!
I'm on my FOURTH handset this week! Same problem, HTC One Mini 2, o2 UK. I get them out of the box, go to the voice recorder app and hit the button, nothing but crackles back, phone will only work as a phone if I put it on speaker phone (which seems to engage a different mic). Otherwise in normal use the mic is broken and crackling. The problem was intermittent on the first handset, the other 3 have been more consistently borked.
This time I'm intending to send the handset on to HTC - they say it could take up to 2 weeks to repair. Part of me just wants to pick a different phone and move on, but it's hard to believe that 4 in a row can all have the same defect. I've learnt a lot about HTC's quality control this week, I've never had an experience like this before. After spending the past 4 years on an iPhone 4, it's hard to understand how a company can send you 4 broken phones in a week.
My Mic not working too ( after 2 week of use )
Then I use speaker mode for calling ( and Mic Working )
After Factory reset everything repaired
But After 1 week mic error got back :crying:
what can i do
it seems this is software problem

In UK HTC usually returnes handset in a couple day and you can fully track it online, (Shipped, repair, etc.) my longest time was 5 days with a bankholiday in the middle.
---------- Post added at 07:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:46 PM ----------
Bought mine on amazon UK unlocked and never had problems with it.
After hard reset everything is ok ( for a few call )
after that problem coming back !!???
it seems it not hardware issues
it must be software problem because of noise canceling
@Will972 Can anyone Provide a way for disabling noise cancelling ?
I had the same problem with my micro: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-mini-2/help/sizzling-noise-phoning-t2866453
HTC told me to run the audio test from the hidden menu: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-mini-2/help/htc-one-mini-2-hidden-menu-t2862144
So if you have the problems (crackling noise and no sound from the speaker) while running the test it's the hardware and you'll get a new device. I went to my Telekom shop and gave it back and two days later i had a new one.

Microphone problems

Hi there.
I have the s5mini now three days.
The problem is that my friends understand me very very quietly. In the German thread are many Users who have the same problem.
How is that with you?
Is it not possible to adjust something in the service menu ??
Sorry for my bad English...

you need to clean mic hole by needle or toothpick and problem will be solved
I also had the same problem as in the original post so I came here for complaining.
But after trying the needle suggestion above (cheers to the usasha!!) the problem got fixed!!!!
I was about to return it to be serviced, but now I'm so happy with my S5 mini
I used a thin needle and inserted it carefully for 3-4 millimeters, some lint came out.
We have exactly the same problem!
Bought phone and it went to service 3 times in a row. They've replaced everything from microphone to motherboard, even "cleared the mic hole". So, as you can see, we've replaced everything and it didn't get better.
Service even replied that the phone is working as it should. We bought it at the end of august, used it 4 days,.. other days, it was on service.
@greglord: is your last post some kind of a game with finding differences?
Usually this is with two pictures, so I find it very unique using posts instead.
Back to thread topic - I also used needle and now people hear me more clearly than before so thank you @usasha !!
I've installed sound meter from PLAY on 2 android phones my old Desire S and my new g800f. ive noticed that there is a 30dB difference the old one receiving better sound then the 1 day old g800f. sad!

Those who took this advice can say good bye to the water resistant certificate.
All water resistant phones have bad microphone performance!
That's not entirely true, my friends immediately reported that I sounded loud and clear without asking, when I switched back from my G800F to my Xperia ZR, even without them knowing I switched phones. Maybe the sound isn't as good as a non-water resistant phone but it sure can be a lot better than my G800F.
I just got my phone back from the Samsung repair shop, after almost 2 weeks (!). But I doubt they have done anything to fix it because the screen was as smudged as when I brought it there. IIRC well the screen has to be taken out to replace anything inside the phone, or am I wrong?
How to solve this problem without loosing warranty?
I have SM-G800F with stock Android 4.4.2 updated from Samsung to the latest update I can get. Not rooted.
I have mic problem since I've bought this phone two weeks ago. People talking to me say that my voice is muffled as if I hold the phone too far from my mouth. This happens only using phone mic - if I switch to speakerphone or earphone during the call, everyone can hear me great. So, the problem is with the phone mic as if the mic level is too low .
I've searched all over the web and have realized that this is very common problem with S5 or S5 mini. As a solution, people suggest "cleaning" the mic hole which puncture the waterproof membrane of the phone and you loose warranty.
Another approach that could make progress is by editing default_gain.conf file at root /system/etc/ (more at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2777535) but for that to work you need to have root which also void warranty - correct?
Suggestions like taking out the battery or wiping the cache partition didn't make any improvement for me.
The only hope for me is hint the I've found the post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55192014&postcount=2) on this forums suggesting raising mic level gain setting in phone service menu could solve the problem but there is no explanation how to do it. I've tried to enter the service menu using *#*#0011#*#* and then Menu -> Back -> Menu -> Input Key -> Q -> Menu -> Input Key -> 0000 but service menu doesn't appear like it should.
Any suggestions either on how to enter the service menu or some other way of solving the issue?
I had this phone like 2 days. I unsealed it. It's a nice phone but I recommend don't waste your time with it. Get rid of it you still can
Samsung S5 mini G800 microphone problem solved
Today I had a problem with the G800, the microphone doesn't work when talking about a call, but it works when recording a dictaphone.
I replaced the charging flex, but I didn't solve the problem, the microphone in the call didn't work.
Then I replaced the top microphone on the motherboard, which is used for speakerphone conversations,
and I heated audio IC WM1811GE it with hot air at 320 degrees Celsius for 20 seconds and that's it. Problem solved.
Now my S mini works perfectly, now the microphone works in a call or conversation. :good::good:

P30 Pro Failed Lower Microphone Issue - Workaround possible?

I really like my P30 Pro but this last week callers have been complaining they can't hear me all of the call. It seems to be this happens for the first 10-15 seconds of the call and then sporadically throughout the call. I have searched the internet and found that the bottom microphone is not working. The reason that sometimes the caller can hear me is that there is an upper microphone which kicks in sometimes. One solution is to use the loudspeaker option - which appears to use the upper microphone all of the time. Apparently using WhatsApp for calls works too. I was wondering if there is a phone caller app which would utilise the upper microphone all of the time (unlike the default Huawei one). I suspect not, but I think it was worth asking. I have read of people having the same issue and replacing the lower microphone/SIM card unit but it still not working. One person who replaced the microphone (which still didn't work) suggested it might be "the analog to digital converter of the microphone signal" which could be at fault.
EDIT : Just to say the phone is still under warranty but I have a quite badly cracked back on the phone (front is fine) so I guess that may invalidate the warranty. The back has been cracked for quite some time though and the microphone issue is only recent
Same happened to me, changed the sim/mic board and its working again

Thanks.. I bought a SIm/Mic board and a USB ribbon/connector. I couldn't fit the sim/Mic board as I couldn't get the connector from the phone onto it so put the old one back (the board wasn't OEM and I don't think the quality was there). I replaced the USB ribbon/connector and the microphone worked. However, the USB connection wasn't great and fast charging only worked with the USB the one way around. I replaced it with a refurbed original ribbon and all is fine. I wonder if just refixing the SIM board and USB cable would have sorted the microphone too a) why would me replacing one part and you replacing a different part sort the same issue? b) I have seen a post from someone who sorted it by applying pressure around the edges of the phone and the SIM area.
I've also started getting this problem. The other party can't hear me on phone calls for the first ten seconds, and when they finally hear me it's very poor quality. Google hotword recognition also isn't working. I'd only seen people saying they'd replaced the sim/mic board and it hadn't helped, but perhaps they didn't change the connector? Good shout, I'm going to try a refurbed cable.
Having issues with the lower microphone that's been listed all over the net, ie delay in hearing me when answering calls and google assistant not hearing me.
Two lower sim/memory/microphone boards later still didn't fix it. For me swapping out the USB ribbon connector has cured it. Just in case this helps someone.

Hi, I replaced the small board as shown twice, but it was the usb lead also shown that ended up fixing it. I'd start with that. Good luck
Hi! I've got the same issue for some time ago... just purchased a new microphone PCB and replaced with no success. Diagnostics on the phone launched a NON WORKING message
Then just surfing the internet I found this forum where I'll share results once I replace the USB charging (and more) flex.
Cross fingers!!
UPDATE!!
** PROBLEM SOVED**
After replacing the charging flex, the microphone is working FINE .
Selfdoagnostics PASSED succesfully for the microphone testing.
▶ I can not realise about what's the hardward problem but it's true it works.
These are cheap pieces, and taking into account I'm in love with this LAST-Google Serviced Huawei P30 Pro... I really believe it will last at least 2 or 3 years more in my hands!!

Glad you found a solution. I warrantied my phone 9months ago because of the microphone issue. Now it is malfunctioning again unfortunately. The p30 pro has everything i need, still full day of battery. Out of warranty now and prepared to try to repair it by myself. Trying to find how thick tesa tape i need to put it back together, which tape did you use? Do i need Best B7000 glue aswell? Havent taken a phone apart the last couple of years so I need som basic guidance regarding glue and tape.
