Hi, many roms have android stock dialer/contact apk..
I prefer legend apks, but i flash indigo roms.. so doesn't have good apk file..
I try to get apks files from modaco r4 rom but doesn't work..
If someone knows how to.. or have good apks files ! =P
Sorry for my english and thanks in advance !
Just make your own ROM, the kitchen is in cheft central.
you need wipe data to stock contacts work
i have just try this
i have created own rom with 'htcContacts.apk', 'HtcDialer.apk', ContactsProvider.apk' from R4 modaco rom
I don't see differences !
i have wipe to factory before flashing own rom.
don't you need to rename them to the "standard" name of the app? (contacts.apk, dialer.apk, etc)
I have the same request.
Please help us to screw stock HTC dialer and HTC contatcs to Cyagenmod 5.08. any ideas? Tried to flash with them, taken from r4 modaco, then got a boot-loop.
Tried to install those apk-s in standart mode - got an error. Installing with adb command gives an error either. Renaming into dialer.apk and contacts.apk doesn't work and gives boot-loop. No ways to solve that problem?
sorry for bad english, have only 2 years of studying.
I think is because is based on a cyanogen ! No ? :/
Hello everyone,
After a few days working with gabwerkz and N00BY0815 in this thread we have managed to create a theme for the Marvel (v4) ROM. It's the stock LG theme. Some icons can't be replaced but well, most of the appearence is stock.
Downloads:
This is supposed to have 2 versions. Choose just one of them.
Version 1 (Theme) - gabwerkz:
http://www.mediafire.com/?mejgaze39nar65f
Version 2 (Theme + Launcher + Some Stock Widgets) - VictorMun:
http://www.mediafire.com/?1zjfpn323l85z7kMirror: http://min.us/mvv3NQ1gG#1o
Add-On - DroidSansFont (Stock font):
http://www.mediafire.com/?09l3ddx9h55dfpoMirror: http://min.us/mvv3NQ1gG#2o
Add-On -Stock Music App:
http://www.mediafire.com/?0jk2wlsw43a52ddMirror: http://min.us/mAYHjXfl4
Installation:
Boot into recovery
Go to Advanced
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Go back to the main menu
Choose Install Zip from SDCard
Reboot
Issues:
Not every widget could be restored because some of them won't work
If you want to install the Add-Ons, it's better if you install them after flashing the theme.
Installing the Stock Music App won't remove the Google Music App included in the ROM.

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if someone could make, knows how to get or has done a mod to get the stock LG UI for the Marvel ROM. I really think it's a great ROM but I actually like the LG UI.
Regards.

No modification for the theme. Just flash the stock apps for that ROM. ask for a flashable stock deodexed apps from the cooker. I believe it's V20N. Also, if you have xanadus repacked V20N, just replace the apk's inside the zip before flashing. That way, you have LG's default/unthemed apk's/UI.
HE also will need framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk from a stock ROM, right?

Yep, stock apk's. no theming required. but you will loose animations for example or any mods from the apk's.
Ok, I did what you guys said but there is a problem: I've no status bar at all, lol.

Download RomManager, do a fix permission, from within (or from terminal in zeus), reboot and it should work, if it still doesnt, reboot to recovery, wipe dalvik, let it reboot and then it should work I think

I'll try, thanks
EDIT: Nope, didn't work :S
However, it is weird because I've the buttons and all from the stock ROM... so I don't really know where the problem may be. I even used the UOT kitchen (to try a random setup) with Marvel's framework-res.apk and the 20n system-ui.apk but it still fails at showing the status bar. Therefore I believe it's related to the system-ui.apk.
From which ROM did you take the System and framework files? B or N? Cause this might also be the cause... Zeus is a v20B ROM, at least the higher versions, which I guess you are using. And if you take the files from a V20N ROM, there might come up a bug, like not showing statusbar... You also might DieDerik, how he solved it, cause he also had the same problem, or gabwerkz might be the PRO on this
Edit, just read the first post again and you use Marvel... This is based on V20N AFAIK, did you use V20B files then maybe? You might also request Marvel, to give you his original files, I guess he will help you out, when he has got some free time
Edit 2: Did you use deodexed files? This might also be the cause...
NOOBY hit the bullseye on that.
but hmmm, he said he used SystemUI of V20N. Now be sure it's deodexed and permissions are correct.
Oh and UOT somehow already left a lot of guys here with a missing status bar. So first try to get the stock statusbar and after you try to mod it again, then you ll at least know, where you can find the bug. Because different files + mods are two possible sources of bugs...
And if you want gabwerkz, you can provide him with a zip, to flash the files + permissions, so he shouldnt have problems with it
Oh I remeber now G*damnit. NOOBY is right, UOT sometimes won't show your statusbar. I've experienced it. If it was from a different Version (V20b) chances are it won't boot for some apk's.
Tell me what apk's you need or themed apk's that you don't want...?/
SystemUI
framework-res
Settings
MMS
Contacts
DownloadProvider
.......
.......
Thank you guys for your help. I've been using the 20n version that is included in the 20n repackaged. Permissions are correct (as the other system apps). I really wonder where the mistake may be... I'll ask the developer, in case he is able/willing to help.

Whoops... that's what you call "I fell asleep". Sorry...

Yes, these are v20n apk's
I'll download it later. Thank you. How exactly should I install these? ( just in case I'm doing something wrong)

If I also may answer your question, it's a flashable .zip, if you look into it, you ll find all the files in their folders and updater-script and so on
Just boot to CWM and flash it
Hi there,
I have only one question. I'm using right now Rushabh25's SGSII ICS v9 rom, which has integrated 14-toggles-mod.
I've already tried to make some modifications in the zip package of modded stock roms (like SGSII v9, or StockLite v6 and v7.1), with success: I managed to implement UOT-mods, hungarian swype, beats music mods, and some apps into the flashable rom zip. I even managed to modify framework-res.apk and systemUI.apk, by decompile them with apktool and the edit some files.
I'm wondering now about, how to implement 14-toggles-mod, like Rushabh25 did it... Can you help me how to do that? I want to learn!
I can't help you to do that, but, I think this thread will help you.

I'll take a look at it, thanks! :good:
HI devs this is regarding a dark theme I am making for the n5 found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...-material-black-theme-lollipop-t2958812/page9
so heres the probblem i am facing ... I started theming on a stock based odexed rom ... xtrasmooth to be exact and i theme by decompiling the apks modding and then recompiling the current build works fine on alot of odexed roms and it all cool there
but i also want this mod to run on deodexed roms ... this is where i have the problem
as of now i cant find a way to deodex lollipop apks trust me i searched but none of them seem to work I understand the problem with deodex
I managed to get a build to boot on slim but i did that by decompiling the slim apks comparing the xmls and replacing the values this works but is very time consuming and it runs only on slim and not anyother deodexed roms
Im new to themeing so I dont really know how to figure this out myself , thats why im here
BUUUUT I have come up with some possible approachees
the problem as we understand it

im starting to think that to apply your theme on deodex roms, you would have to manually grab whatever deodex rom you'd like, grab its system, settings, framework, etc apk's and modify them specifically for that rom itself..
i think its going to be very difficult trying to 'universify' (not a word, i know lol) custom themes to work on both odex and deodex rom's on lollipop..
lollipop is so different setting things up from kitkat, that every apk will be totally different depending on what rom youre using (it seems)
I think (pertaining to lollipop) it's either make a theme for deodex roms or odex roms.. or even build both separately...
i could be TOTALLY WRONG on this idea.. but everything that i did on kitkat, is not working on lollipop, and this idea is what i came up with...
i think this is a valid hypothesis because terminus rom has its own theme specifically made for it/made for a certain date.. it wont boot/work on newer builds so the theme has to be updated to work with its newer rom.. and terminus rom is deodex.. same thing goes with the new Elix-R theme.. its specifically made for stock based roms which are odex roms
Again, i could be wrong. But i think you (or I) will have to make separate theme builds.. one for odex and one for deodex..
take this with a grain of salt lol -- im going to be doing more testing tonight to get more of a valid conclusion.

AND THE POSSIBLE APPROACHES

yes bro you're right .... I dont think its possible to univerify (lol) a single build ite either odex or deodex or both seperately
Approaches
1) as mentoined before two seperate builds
2) build for odex and then deodex it - by the looks this seems the easiest but I CANT FIND A SINGLE TUTORIAL ON THE INTERNET TO DEODEX LOLLIPOP APPS :/ understandable cause its a fairly very new OS
3) what ive been doing to get a deodexed build working is manually decompile the deodex and copy paste the xml values from odex to maintain consistancy rather then having one colour on odex and the other on deod ..... this seems to work well but is very time consuming :/ ILL do this afte exams if it our only hope <----- this method i tested on slim and works i used http://www.diffnow.com/ to manuallyy compare the xmls its a little more efficient than rremebering all the changes
well thats what ive figured out on how to get a deodexed build.......
hope we can fix soon

so what i need to know is Are my approaches the only way ? or is there some other way i dont know of.... is it practical to so
and
is there a way to universiy the deodex build as in make a build to run on all deodexed custom roms or should a build be made for each seperately ?
thanks
andoidous
No.
How's that for a detailed answer?
Basically, if your theming includes changing XML or adding or removing resources, you have to decompile the apk's. If your theming just involves changing the icons, you're better off looking at something that can inject those icons, like the Ultimate Flashing Tool.
I'm sure that Smali/baksmali will be updated soon to be Lollipop-compatible. We're all waiting for it!
You are thinking about it wrong and...... being lazy. Sorry. But Linux in general is about passing along knowledge and teaching others. In the spirit of this I encourage you to learn how to build from source. (what site has that kind of information you can learn to do that?...) You can modify and play around all you want to with the apks BEFORE its compiled and not wait for JF to do the hard work.
You'll learn a lot of things along the way and educate yourself better in understanding your end goal.
The question about development has been asked and answered.
