[Q] Droid 3 2.3.4 Help - Motorola Droid 3

Hey guys; I tried using psouza tools(the 2.3.4 one i think 1.06) to root my phone; and it successfully said it rooted however it did not. I'm thinking maybe revert to another version of os (besides 2.3.4) and root from there. Preferably 1 root; any suggestions for me?
Also I have another Droid 3 that only turns on and shows the Red M and freezes there; never passes by it even with a fact. reset; any suggestions there?
Thanks guys

to root use MOTOFAIL “Droid 4” by Dan Rosenberg
to fix bootloop
wipe data or cache in android recovery
with device off, hold X & power, when you see triangle, !, & Andy, press both volume buttons
or flash recovery image
AP Fastboot Flash Mode
device off, hold volume down & power, to boot
0A.64 you can only use .906 1-click-sbf.exe + tools [10-8-2012]
0A.53 you can use 2.3.4/5.6.890.xml or 5.5.959.xml
if it says battery low, Cannnot Program you need a charged battery, before flashing
if it says Connect USB Data Cable, try a different usb data cable, usb port, or pc

... OP states it will bootloop. You need to flash twice. You also should get GB bootloaders since it fixes your 3button issue. Get back in download mode. Doubt this will work but try:
Remove battery
Open Odin
connect phone to computer
Press Vol up+VolDown +insert battery
Use ODIN.
If it doesn't make/buy a jig and next time READ more before you flash.
For download mode, I always:
Start ODIN and plug USB into computer
1. pull and replace battery
2. with phone off, hold both volume buttons (if froyo based) or volume down (GB)
3. Plug USB into phone. see download mode
this ahs worked 100% fo the time.
if the battery icon pops up, then it do the other volume button....

Hey PR,
Thanks for the responses, I did read a lot, but did not see it mentioned anywhere that I could lose button functionality, and thus be prevented from getting back into download mode for 2nd flash.
Any ideas where I can buy a jig?
Thanks
The rom doesn't make you loose 3 button, Flashing to a very old JF6 did that. Google layman jig for a how to or google mobiletechvideos.com to buy one.
Just curious, did you try adb reboot download while the phone is booting? It should get to a point where it responds to adb commands. Hell, mine has been stuck on the ATT screen and still responds to adb. Worth a shot.

[HELP PLZ] bricked ACE, no USB connection

Hi all,
i've bricked my ACE by flashing it to CM not by Odin but by pressing <Install from ZIP> in the recovery mode ...
After it i think the filesystem was destroyed (got errors like "E:failed to mount /system (Invalid argument)").
I would flash it again but this time by Odin, and first of all flash CWM... but the issue is my ACE is not recognized
by Windows when connected to USB. I have tried reinstalling Kies, Samsung drivers without Kies, different USB ports and also
different PCs -> no result :crying:
Is there a way to recover the filesystem without using USB? Or how can i connect that damn thing to USB with properly recognize?
I have tried to give ACE to Samsung service, but all that they wrote was: "... irreparable damage due to damp ..." WTF?!?!
Please someone try to help me.
Thanks a lot.
You can't do anything if even Samsung gave up on it (they can revive almost all of there phones) .
However you could post this info so someone else does not make the same mistake.
1. Full phone model info
2. ROM you were originally on
3. Which recovery you used
4. Odin version
5. Which CM you flashed
6. What carrier(operator) are you on (the phone might had been locked)
I have managed to check if the phone is actually working or not even in the particular case you mention where it does not seem to turn on at all.
1)Kill KiesTrayAgent.
2)Remove the battery and usb cable.
3)Plug usb cable (also to the computer).
4)Keep pressed all buttons; Vol Up, Vol Down, Home and Power.
5)Replace the battery.
6)Let go of the buttons.
7)Odin recognizes the phone but will not connect to it.
If it does not work (the key combination might be wrong), try again with Up, Home and Power or Down, Home and Power.
One of those 3 combinations worked for me and realized that the phone was hard bricked.
Eventually I managed to revive it (although not myself)
The only thing that you may do is press VolDown + menu + powerbutton with odin . It will open the download mode. If it not work, your motherboard is burned!
Sorry for my bad english.
I think you used stock recovery. U need custom extended recoveries like CWM 5 to flash roms.

[Q] Bionic Brick

Trying to avoid buying a new phone to replace my really slow bionic by flashing the rom. I screwed up somewhere (maybe several somewheres). Anyway, where I am now is: I installed TWRP 2.6.0.0 installed (with SafeStrap 3.11). I created a Titanium backup and then tried to flash Flying Jelly 1.1 without wiping the stock slot. It was downhill from there. Right now, when I power up, if I go straight to boot, after the Motorola M, the screen goes dark with a glowing backlight and stays that way. If I go into SafeStrap/TWRP, I get all the right options. I tried Factory Reset, it completes almost immediately and nothing changes (still hangs in boot). I tried Install to flash stock 4.1.2 but that didn't work. I tried using RSD Lite but if I plug in (USB) and let it go through boot, when it hangs, USB communication doesn't work. I tried RSD Lite in SafeStrap with USB mounted but that doesn't work either. I can still get to the internal storage in SafeStrap (and have saved a copy to my pc). Is there anything else I can do before I surrender and toss the phone?
Have you tried manual install though stock recovery?
It's equivalent to fastboot FXZ, but you install via ext_sd card rather than usb cable.
You get into the stock recovery similar way as fastboot, but you choose revoery instead of fastboot.
You'll need a different zip to install by sd that's different from the FXZ file.

I too have a similar issue..I was running Blurred effects JB ROM and it was giving me issues. I took out the battery and put it back in. It loaded this boot menu loader and I couldn't go back to my main JB system. So I deleted the system file that kept sending me to stock rom thinking it would send me back to my jelly bean side. Now it remains black... I can do the whole up/down vol keys but AP fastboot doesn't work. When I plug into my computer is like the phone doesnt connect. I go in device manager and nothing is there. I cant go to recovery either... it give me the android logo with a red caution sign. I cant do moto helper or RSD lite if the phone is not on the system

Are you saying that you can't get into AP fastboot mode, or that when you are in fastboot mode, your phone won't connect to your PC?
If you can't get into AP fastboot, take out your battery wait for 3 sec. Push all 3 buttons (pwr, vol up, vol down) all together then put the battery back.
As for recovery mode, once you get the robot with the caution sign, you need to press vol up/down together for the recovery menu to show up.
You might have to do it a few time before it shows up.

Problem with Download Mode

Long story short, I have the I8190L version of the phone, currently on stock ROM. I got the phone a few weeks ago and I have rooted it right away, there were no problems while rooting, I used the Galaxy S3 mini toolkit and used the "Flash Insecure Boot Image and Root device" option, with SuperSU 1.25. Fast forward to right now, I want to install CyanogenMod, so I went and tried to boot my phone into Download Mode, to try and flash CWM recovery in order to install the Cyanogen ROM, but I simply can't start download mode, when connected to the USB pressing the Vol up + menu + power sequence, the phone just starts normally (The OS will load completely). adb reboot download doesn't work too, vol up + vol down + power and plugging in the usb cable doesn't work.. I did several hard resets and I removed root too, noone of those worked. I don't know if that is relevant, but I installed a patched google play (4.1.10 Chelpus version), I could not find a way to remove that. I can't reroot too because I would need to start my phone in download mode. Anyone knows what is happening?

are you connecting your phone to PC before you go to download-mode???
try this: download-mode (Vol up + Menu + Power) and now connect your device with your computer!
flash CWM or whatever you want...

That did not work, when it is about to go to download mode it seems that it fails and either boots the OS or just turns off (depends on how much I hold the buttons), and since adb reboot download doesn't work I think something got corrupted (adb finds the device and reboots it, but it just starts up normally).
I'm not sure why, but noone of the articles I read mentioned the actual CORRECT download mode sequence, which is: Volume Down + Home + Power buttons, and then click on Volume Up, it is working now. Thanks.

Well if you looked at the screen you would know what to press after vol down+home+power
oh my God,
you are all right.
i mixed up step one and two of Download-Mode - sorry
first you have to push Vol Down + Menu + Power (few seconds)
start odin as admin
second you connect your device to PC
third you push Vol Up
fourth you flash via Odin.
I often flash ROMs via Odin and / or use CWM so that works automatically ....

[Q] Soft-Bricked, OS not recognizing in Download Mode

Background: Have a Sprint LG G Flex (LS995)
Upgraded to KK (This went well)
Using TowelRoot, I rooted the device (This went well)
Rebooted and installed SU (This went well)
Could not install CWM, instead I installed TWRP. There was a warning that said to NOT install on KK. I ignored this. (This seemingly went well, until I accidentally rebooted the device)
Phone boots to the LG logo, and stays there (Not going well)
Tried to enter recovery, (power down, power + vol down button, release pwr button, and repress ---or however the combination is)
Able to navigate, tried to factory restore (didn't happen), tried wiping the cache (didn't help), tried sideload adb (never fully loaded)
Downloaded stock ROM and LG Flash tool (with unlock dll), connected phone in Download mode (power down, then with USB cable in, Vol UP + Power button), successfully entered the mode, but PC (Windows nor CentOS) will not recognize a connected USB device.
I tried windows drivers, tried LG drivers, Android drivers, and no progress. I also swapped out the USB cable for several others, including what I believe to be an LG supplied cable.
Also tried pushing files via ADB (from desktop), and can't push the file.
I even tried random hw button presses, (pressing Vol UP + Power without USB cable, presented me with a Korean option list, which Google translate did a good job and told me the options were for an External Mode (?) with the options of On, Off, Cancel. this white page also had a IMEI barcode on the bottom of the page, since which has partially blanked out (The phone was dropped and slowly the effects are seeping into the display output).
Has anyone else FUBAR'd their device like this, and got out of it?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, as I am stuck!
