I live in the UK and bought an Otterbox commuter from mobilefun which has just been delivered today. After putting it on I have noticed that the top right corner is visibly loose and only takes a slight pull to expose the edge of the phone. The left side takes more effort.
I'm assuming this isn't normal? Would I be best contacting mobilefun or contacting Otterbox directly?

Contact otterbox directly using their email tool. Theyll get back to you asking for a couple if pics and your address. Then theyll ship you a replacement.

It has been reported before on this forum as one of the design flows with Commuter, just don't remember if it was right or left corners or in the area of volume/power buttons where its loose. Although, if I remember correctly it wasn't that extreme as you have described. As it was mentioned, contact their tech support, they will send you email with instructions and request to take pictures of the problem, then will send you a replacement under warranty.
You can see from looking at it that it's loose as it bends away from the phone on the corner. Thanks for the advise I will email them.

When I had my Defender for a week, before I returned it back, I figured it will be difficult to capture a screen protector flex problem on a picture, so I took a short video clip with another camera, and then used a free Any-video-converter program to convert it to a lo-fi low resolution clip to minimize the file size (went from 60MB to 1MB after I had it converted). This way in addition to a picture, you can also attach a small video clip to show the problem. At the end, I just ended up returning the case without a need for replacement. In case of Defender - it's a common problem with every case. Commuter seems to be getting a lot of praises, although personally I passed on it because it felt slippery in my hand and no friction once placed on it's back - I wish the outer plastic shell was a little rubberized or something. But then, I also heard some people stick a tape to solve that problem.

Look for the Body Glove
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
I've tried all those hard cases on eGay, I suggest the Body Glove TPU case, not the hard case. It is very easy to put on and take off, and hugs the phone really well. Also doesn't add much bulk. It is not sticky like silicone cases and easy to use the phone with it

Correct. It is 2 piece soft/smooth feeling exterior with a felt insert on a hard plastic interior for what fits on the phone. The holder is also felt lined where the Cappy's face sits against but the outside is all hard plastic. Both of the holders clips are rock solid and no slop in them at all.so if you need a holder that will actually hold your phone tight..you'll love how well ths one works. This case isn't as cushiony as say the Otter box but will protect from most normal table hieght falls.I've dropped mine once and had it knocked off my desk once with no issues from it. I got mine at Best Buy for $34.00..you can find them cheaper on line..but you can walk in and see them for yourself at the store..

I posted a few pics of this case in some other threads but after a few days with the case i feel its needs its own thread. This case is an awesome case. I purchased it for $40 at an at&t store and replaced my sprint bodyglove with it. The cas3 feels better in my hand then the bodyglove. It definitely feels like it would protect better if i drop it. It fits very good nice and tight. It has a really nice gloss finish and the kickstand really comes in handy when my sons watching movies. I like the Pop Case as well. I had it for the GS2, GS3 and now the Note 2. It's very solid for protection and there is enough edge covered to protect the phone when it is turned face down. My favorite things about the case is the grip. It's enough to securely hold the phone and not too much that you have to battle to take it out of your pocket. The power and volume buttons are covered just right as far as no accidental presses while still being easy to press.
I don't use the kickstand too much but it could be made more solid as the hinge feels very fragile. It does work however in both portrait or landscape placement.

It's also worth mentioning that, unlike most cases like it (at least the ones I've seen), the rubber edge sits perfectly around the edge and does not touch the glass. And it is completely solid and does not move at all, so there is no accidentally slipping it off and loosing protection.

And don't forget the useless plastic screen protector. Got my glacier Defender this Saturday, went through 3 at local Verizon store - all have the same problem with a gap underneath of plastic screen protector. Completely kills the experience using touch screen. Plus, s-pen left marks on the plastic screen, couldn't even wipe them off easily. The same problem described in every review on Amazon, and other forums/posts. Yes, you can punch it out (use hair dryer to soften up glue and push it out), but what a disappointment with Otterbox rushing this release. I called them up, they created a case for replacement since I was hoping their manufacturing process was corrected. But it sounds like they are having delays and I might not get a replacement in time before my 2wk store return period is over. So, I'm returning it back and will wait for Defender v2, whenever its available lol!!! Right now, the only case I'm looking forward to is UAG! But unfortunately its on back order

The glacier defender is brilliant! Yes, the screen protector sucks, but I have always been under the impression that everyone removes that and uses a stand alone screen protector.

But wouldn't removing the screen protector will void the warranty? Then, if you have an issue with your case (outer rubber part or inner plastic case, interlocking tabs, etc.) - how would you send it back w/o screen protector? and if you save it and glue it back, wouldn't they notice it?

As far as I know, that is not how Otterbox does business. Mind you, I have never returned a product to them for a refund but I have had about 6 replaced over the past few years. (for different devices)
They do not require that you send the product back to them for a replacement. If you file an online claim they will ask for pictures of the case.. But by calling them to file a claim, I have never had to send pictures.
Their customer service is outstanding.
And if you've had the case for more than 6 months they are more than willing to provide a replacement.
Popping out the included screen protector doesn't rid the shell of the glue.. So if you save the protector, you could stick it on and make it look like it is still attached, if they need pictures.
I'm perfectly happy with the protection so far, getting used to the screen protector. I'm not really falling for the urban armor guard.

Been driving myself crazy trying to find something like this and keep coming up empty. Basically I'm looking for a holster case where the belt loop(s) are on the top of the case, not the middle, so the top of the case sits at or below the belt line. These cases are exactly what I'm looking for but all of them are for <5" phones:

Universal? Pouch

I've done that plenty, the problem is I'm looking for something with the point of attachment to the belt in a different location that most cases... Please allow my terrible mspaint job to illustrate this.
I've about given up on the concept though, I think I'm going to have to jump ship to a Moto X or a Nexus 5 once they're available on the google play store. I love my Note 2 but it's just slightly too big for what I want to do with it
item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=360649119899?
Attachment point seems higher than normal.
I believe it's hard to find because it makes it awkward to clip such a large device from the top. It makes it un-leveled compared to the center mounting point.

Here's the phone in the holster, on my belt. It's not eh... as gunslinger/drop style as it could be, but it keeps it out of the way well enough. If you're putting this on a standard sized belt (1.5-1.75 inches wide), you can probably turn it sideways.
Another in-holster pic.
On the loaded belt

The buckle retention clips in and there's a bungee that's attached to that. Very easily manipulated to hold even larger phones. I have no doubt this could hold ANY of the upcoming phones, since this is designed to also hold a Motorola XTS5000 radio.

@apallohadas: that is really badass!!! Looks much better on that belt than the other vertical pouch, but i think this one will be harder to take out? Although it will stay more secure inside when you are on a chase!

Takes a bit more finger manipulation than just slapping a velcro tab for sure. But I broke the stitching on the other pouch going over a short fence. Just had a foot chase the other day with this baby and it was solid
The obvious downside of this one is that it provides ZERO water/sand protection. It's literally just a holster. The inside surface is a hard nylon cloth, but both gorilla glass and/or a tempered glass screen protector has a higher hardness than nylon, so I'm not worried about the screen getting scratched.
If someone is working a construction site, beach, somewhere with lots of sand, this is not a good buy. For LEO's and the general public, just awesome.
what case are you guys using ?
I am using the samsung's official s-view case and I dropped my phone the other day and now i have a dent on the top and bottom outter corners on the metal frame since this case does not protect it well....
i am looking for suggestions for a thin case that covers the body and have s-view window...
any suggestions ?
Spigen bounce for me. Its thin and form fitting around all the corners. Only problem is 2 color choices, black and grey (light black).
Costs more than a generic tpu case but it looks and feels better.

I could have told everyone about the spigen neo hybrid from my experience with their S4 case. It's one of the most overrated cases on the market, I'm not sure why people love it so much.
It looks and feels much cheaper in person than in pics and it makes the phone much bulkier and wider than it needs to be. And it's ridiculously overpriced for what it is.
Thumbs way down, I will never buy a spigen again.

If you want a fairly inexpensive no frills case, check out the one from Caseology. I got one for $3.50 on a deal from slickdeals and it's a great case with decent protection for the price. Even at the regular $8.50 price I would say it's well worth it.

Cool. What about screen protection??

I'm using an iSmooth screen protector. Application was the smoothest of any screen protector I've used so far - but I don't know how much of that is just practice applying them. The screen looks beautiful, with no rainbow patterns, and grease resistance is good (the Spigen ones I used before on my original note, I had a harder time of applying, and both Crystal and Oleophobic ones accumulated grease like nobody's business, particularly the supposedly oleophobic one, and the crystal had slight rainbow patterns visible in the right light).
As for cases, I'm not using one; I don't like the added bulk from them - I instead used Sugru to mold little bumpers directly on the corners of the phone. The corner around the S-Pen is kinda tricky, since there's what looks like a mic on the long side, and very little space between the pen and the speaker on the bottom. I used 3 little pieces of sugru around there. I also put a little bumper below the volume rocker, so I can quickly find the volume buttons when the phone is in my pocket. The sugru comes off cleanly (scrape it off with a fingernail). It lasts pretty well, but it will need to be redone at least once during a two year contract, more if the phone is handled roughly.
Thoughts on the S view case?
I think Im mostly concerned with the glass cracking than anything else...
Right now i am rocking the Incipio DualPro case and am waiting for a case from Cuzerlite to come in.
I got the Tudia Melody and it's perfect. 8 bucks to boot. It adds a nice grip to the phone and covers up the chrome lining on the front. You know the part that looks terrible even with a minor scuff? No screen protection except for the raised edges.

If you want protection and don't mind added bulk the Otterbox Defender is the only way to go. I personally have large hands and prefer the thickness and bulk the Defender adds. Plus you can throw it at a wall and it will not hurt the phone. The built in screen protector is hard plastic and will protect from most surface scratches. Of course direct impacts to the screen will almost always break it on large device like this and there is no case or protector that protects from direct impacts. So for screen protection you just have to take what you can get.
For me the Ottorbox has been the only way to go for my last five phones.
@Solarenemy68 while last year me would agree with you, I found another case company called trident with a similar design. There a bit cheaper too (price not quality!!) long story short, mine came today and it is amazing. Has a built in metal kickstand. (Had a bad experience with my last phone cuz of otterbox's customer service. So tried something new)

I had a trident case for my LG phone.. To be honest I did not like the finish or quality of the plastic. The plastic looked too military.
