Only one problem....the tablet is making the calls and the calls are connecting but I am unable to hear anything in-call through my BT headset. Once the call connects and starts dialing all sound cuts out. Could this be a result of the microphone issues found in custom ROMs?

grooveip works for me:good::good::good:

Think I would get the best results from using a stock based ROM?

Stock ROMs are the only ones where all the hardware actually works.

Fongo on Canada
Google voice in US

I tried all sorts of VoIP clients, but always came back to CSipSimple. It is actually far beyond the others.
I saw that this one is the only one (I might be wrong), which has implemented option for BT SCO use.
Regarding the bad quality of the sound: It is usually codec / bandwidth related, and also the Clock rate must be set correctly if using your carrier service!
Example:
I use my operator (Mobitel's) VoIP subscription service daily, so my settings for WiFi only are:
Network settings:
Enable STUN.....yes ....STUN server: voip.xxxxxxx.xx
Media settings:
Echo cancellation....yes
Codec priority list per bandwidth.....yes
Codecs for fast connection
Opus 48 kHz
SILK 24 kHz
ISAC 16 kHz
....
Codecs for slow connection
G729 8 kHz
SILK 8 kHz
PCMU 8 kHz
PCMA 8 kHz
This things can be complicated sometimes....
I tested CSipSimple also on AOKP and CM ====> It worked without any problems.

OK well my setup is as follows: running PA legacy build on WiFi ONLY p3113. I just want to be able to use my tablet as a "backup" phone as long as I'm on my web connection at home. I've tried the apps mentioned is this thread (except the one from the previous post) and none of them produce sound through my BT headset.

I have always run in to issues using Google Voice or GrooveIP for calls on my Tab 2 7. I use AOSP ROMs like PA and CM. I'd love to use it for sales calls at work. Is there any trick to getting Google Voice off the ground?

Viber has potential..
even with EDGE network

I'm wondering if the lack of radio in the p3113 model has anything to do with why I can't get anything past one dial tone's worth of sound through my BT headset. I know the call is going through to the phone I call, but once the call starts dialing I'm not hearing anything at all through the BT.

[Q] Bluetooth Microphone and Skype/VOIP

I would like to use my Galaxy Tab 7 as a secondary phone using Skype/VOIP over 3G.
I have flashed the device with the Overcome 3.1 ROM and everything is working great except when I try and make Skype calls it uses the devices microphone instead of the Mic on the Bluetooth Headset.
I cant believe I am the only one who is having this issue. Anyone want to jump in on this? I would assume this is a MUST HAVE feature.
Try the app called "Super BT mono"

[Q] Video calling

Hi. I've had my Z for nearly a week now and it's bloody brilliant!
One question though, there's no option to make video calls even though there is a front facing camera. I've googled this issue and found nothing helpful.
Anyone know why there is no video call function and if it can be added with a replacement dialer or something????
Any help appreciated, thanks.
That I don't know. I use Google Hangout or Skype though. That works fine.
Sorry but almost all android phones doesn't have video call over mobile network

Thanks for replies. I had video call available on my last phone, Xperia Arc, although it was on a custom ROM it was still using the Sony home-screen app. Oh well, I'll find a way eventually...
Skype is great. Used with my Arc, and quality is impressive. And I used it over at&t 3G network, without a problem.
Voice quality is phenomenal!! Like being next door!! Better than using the phone as a phone.
Highly recommend Skype. Plus free Skype to Skype calls!!

Hi thintin,
Have you found a solution to your video call problem? I'm planning to buy Xperia Z, but I definitely need this feature.
I mean, video call via 3G or 4G network.

This has been stated to the point of over kill. Read the threads and you will have your answer. And NO it doesn't work on ANY Jelly Bean ROMs and most likely NEVER will.

Just download one from the play store if the rom doesnt have it. Cant wait til google adds g voice To the new hangout app find it much more useful
Than talk.
I was gonna say Google Voice + Groove IP is your best bet.
Yes the Google Voice app will be merging into the Google Hangouts app sometime soon. Maybe even Wifi calling too?
As of now. Your best bet is G-Voice and either Groove IP or TalkaTone for VOIP calls.... $20 to port your T-Mobile number to G-Voice or get a new number for free if you don't care.
G-Voice app can set the default number to be your G-Voice number too.
Good luck! The T-Mobile Wifi app sucks IMO. As it uses your calling minutes. What a waste. The idea is good but execution is terrible.
In these days you can use Facebook Messenger, Skype & Google Hangouts to make VOIP calls if your Friends and Family use to those apps too. Slowly becoming the norm. The days of dialing a 10 digit number to reach someone is slowly going away.
Plus many people usually send text messages with SMS, Facebook Messenger, E-mail & Hangouts (Google Talk merged with this) too.
Hope you find a good Wifi calling solution that works well for you.
Fongo work on AOIP Team Insomnia [Linaro 4.7] ROM.
I don't test with others customs roms.
Nettalk work to on AOIP Team Insomnia [Linaro 4.7] ROM.

I get this too with some roms on the same headphones, not sure why.
It might be that bluetooth is not working correctly on your particular build.
You might want to post a bugreport with a logcat on the nightly thread.

not sure if plantronics model you are using has features similar to mine.
i have plantronics voyager pro hd which when connected via usb to pc with browser open to plantronics web site, it gets firmware updates and allows settings changes for the headset.
i used the plantronics web tool to turn off the features that control the headset behavior based on position of headset - it interfered with phone calls.

[Q] Native SIP client in CM10 not working

Hi guys,
I've just installed CM10 on my HTC Desire C. Everything works smoothly but the native SIP client doesn't work. Makes and receives calls (the caller's phone ringing or my phone ringing) but there is no sound. I can not hear other party and other party can not hear me. The problem is not in my home router as the same configuration SIP client on my desktop PC is working. The same configuration also worked very well in the past on the same phone with HTC stock firmware.
Any ideas how to solve this problem?
Phone: HTC Desire C
ROM: CyanogenMod version 10-20130604-UNOFFICIAL-golfu

<SIP client> = <client software to make internet calls to SIP server> see here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_SIP_software
In case of CM10 it is configured under Dialer>Settings>INTERNET CALL SETTINGS>Accounts, see here:

It is very simple to find the answer of your question "what a sip client is apart communicating with network?", so I'm not sure to whom the last qualification in your statement should apply.
OK, seriously speaking - I do believe that most probably the problem is not in network configuration of my home Wi-Fi router as the PC client is working. The "lost sound" case happens usually because of improperly configured router firewalls. This is obviously not the case. The other two possibilities are either problems in communication with sound device(codecs, etc) or some problems with Wi-Fi- network interface of the phone.
I've installed the 3CX Phone client and everything works. So obviously the problem is in the CM10's native SIP client. The case is closed for me as I found a SIP client that works
