My AHD is on 4.1.1 ATT (on bell ...) and rooted.
got a logcat when I connect just the HDMI to the lapdock (original atrix lapdock)

you can find all the info in your phone at /sys/class/graphics/fb1/
I have a Razr HD on Jellybean, same issue, I think. Looks like the vertical resolution is 50% of expected and then scaled badly to 75% of the screen, which is what your resolution seems to indicate. Lapdock resolution is 1366x768, I believe, but I'd be willing to settle for 1280x720. HDMI is a majorly flawed interface for a cell phone, it seems.
I have news: seems like verizon razr HD users got a fix for it in 4.1.2!!!
Now we just have to ask our devs to make us rom with updated 4.1.2 verizon razr hd as base.

I'm glad to see this and hope our awesome Devs can figure this out. My parents are looking to get me a lapdock for my AtrixHD and I'd love to have it working.
I'm in for a fix, guys, and even better if we are able to port webtop or find an alternative to it.
4.1.2 on the Razr HD did increase resolution but the phone still reboots randomly when using youtube app.
All we need is the overscan settings back.

Don't know if it'll help or not, but I made a 4.1.2 Atrix HD rom from the Mexico Retail fastboot. Its an actual Motorola 4.1.2 system for the AHD. I don't have a lapdock, but maybe the fix in the RAZR 412 is in ours.
A little later tonight I'm gonna be testing Bell ICS using the same method I did to make the 4.1.2 zip -- finished deodexing a few minutes ago, gotta add root, init.d, & the usual.
Roms are for AT&T Jellybean rooted phones.

I think I had 4.1.2 on my atrix hd, dont remeber what rom, and as far I saw all roms with my lapdock were the same way bad.
It might be that the verizon and razr hd specific 4.1.2 has the fix only, not all 4.1.2s.

Give it a try if you can. Its worth giving it a chance. As far as stock, unmodded Motorola roms go, that Mex Retail is the best one I've ever used -- Bravo, Defy, and Atrix HD stock Motorola Roms anyways . No tethering entitlement checks at all -- I'm an AT&T user, don't pay for those services, and can freely use them without doing any kind of modding. The camera app seems to be better as well. There are only 2 bloat apps, both under /system/vendor/app -- I'm not counting Blur as bloat since its not that bad now (or Swype). Its easily better than AT&T stock, there's no question about that.
Please correct me if I'm wrong or blind, but I haven't seen any other actual 4.1.2 roms for the Ahd that are based on an actual, official Moto Ahd 4.1.2 system. Actually, I haven't seen any Ahd rom over 4.1.1 that wasn't a port. Some are ports based on a 4.1.2 JB rom from whatever device, but they're still either AT&T 4.1.1 at the core (look at the debug info in build.prop, most don't bother changing those values) or are using 4.1.1 libs, bins, and whatever on another system's 4.1.2 base.

How do I get a rom to install on stock partition? I'd love to have a custom rom on stock partition!
I can install them with safestrap but they always bootloop, or just turn off the phone.
You shouldn't.

What he said. I've only ever installed roms to SS slot 1. We don't really have the room for a 2nd slot, my opinion.

First you need a stock backup, just in case. Then you need to modify the ROM's init files in /etc/rootfs to undo the special safestrap mounts. Use stock as a guide, and modify init.target.rc (maybe init.qcom.rc too). Should work if you do it correctly (I wouldn't know; don't ask).
I'm running 2 slots, but I moved the stock apps to /system and swapped the Internal-External sdcards with script manager.
But what we really need is an SS3 backup of system from the newest RAZRHD update to confirm if it fixes the hdmi/lapdock issue. I actually think the lapdock uses DVI because I get a similar stretched-widescreen when using my hdmi-to-dvi adapter. On pure HDMI it works just fine.
Just to let you know, it is NOT fixed. It only improved a bit.
No positive change to report with mexican 4.1.2.
Although I probably will keep this if it plays nice with 802.11x security.

Yes I think only Verizpn's update had the quality improvements.
Does the AHD reboot when using youtube through hdmi? Droid does. Lol.

If you want to, link me a RAZR HD fastboot and I can make you a rom out of it. I don't have a lapdock so I don't know what rom has what fix.
I was raelly hoping the MR would help. AHD Bell 4.1.2 is a tiny bit newer (week or two) than MR if you wanna give it a try -- its not uploaded yet -- testing tonight. Still having loop issues with ICS on JB kernel, I gotta learn more about how SS3 works.

Yeah that would be awesome.
For now it seems like with the bootloader unlock, we can go back to ICS, we'll just have to dig up a proper custom rom from the ICS era.

Good for you guys, I was feeling bad for yea.
does it work 100% or is there any bugs?
Is this a newer SBF than the one on it or an older?
Damn those russians did it again. What would be the world without their leaks
I don't know how the name scheme works but the current Bell Atrix is U4_0.37.4 this one is u4_1.4.2.
So this is an update?
Is root gone?

Anyone that installed this could you answer these questions
Is root possible in this SBF?
Are your download/upload speeds affected?
1080p video recording?
Are there any bugs in this SBF?
Is this a newer firmware than the current fimware in the Bell Atrix?

root - probably not yet. would have to wait for a dev to take a look.
up/down speeds - again, probably not.
1080p - repetitive i know, but probably not.
bugs - there are bugs with everything, probably nothing too glaring.
newer - judging by version number, if it's legit, then yes.
Can anyone confirm that this is working? OP, can we see a screenshot of your about phone info to confirm?
I really hope this is legit, would help out a lot with ROM development with the Bell Atrix. I still cant figure out how the Canadian SBF shows up on a Russian website.

Probably shouldn't run this onto a Bell Atrix right away...
If you ever need to return it for warranty, you will have a version of the firmware that isn't supported. Good luck trying to get support then. And with no SBF to revert back to, you might be in trouble.
maybe it's an Europe version sbf...

Any idea if this ROM supports 2100Mhz??
I have updated my Revolution to the new 2.2.2 software hoping that it would stop my device from the constant reboot that seems to plague LG products but it didn't. So step 2 is rooting my device which solved the problem with my Droid X cause it was able to get rid of the bloatware occupying soo much of my memory & overclocked my processor to handle the means in which I use my phone. Does ANYONE have a SIMPLE root method for the 2.2.2 software? What have been the best themes? ROMs? Overclock? available for the Revolution??
Where is z4Root when you need it??
I'm kinda disappointed with the Revolution cause both Verizon & LG have put so much praise behind a device that leading up to it's launch was supposed to be the Revolutionary 4G device for Verizon but I have yet to see anything Revolutionary about it. I put it 3rd behind the Thunderbolt and what seems to be a superior Samsung Charge.
(Android verision: 2.2.2 ~ Kernel: 2.6.32.9-perf / [email protected]#1 ~ SW Verision: VS910ZV6)
I believe since you updated you can no longer root. YOu would have to revert back to v4 from v6 using this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1211295. Then you will have to find a super one click, The program used to root the phones which I believe still works if on pre OTA firmware. Hope this helps you. I didn't have any of those problems with my phone when I got but I rooted it like a week or 2 after getting it and decrapped came out like later. Good luck and let me know how it all works out.
I have installed some roms in my xt860 and now I'm in steel droid 4.0 and I actually like it but in all roms keep unconfiguring my physical keyboard some way...
Example the "!" is in "alt+1" and it has to be in "alt+q" where the drawing of "!" is in. I need some help to fix it, in all roms is the same.
Sorry for my bad english
was it this way with stock?
In stock was like the keyboard said.
Originaly the "!" is "alt+q" the draw in the keyboard's buttom says that, but with this rom the "!" is with "alt+1".
I dont like that I want the keys like they are drawn in the keyboard.
is this a problem with all SteelDroid users. and was it with Steel droid3 ? ofcourse the first thing i have to recommend is a wipe and reflash of everything.

[Q] XT883 radio image/fastboot for [SELFKANG ICS/CM9 ROM Alpha #5] GSM AT&T/T-Mobile?
So i was Wondering if its Possible to Flash the XT883 radio image to HashCode's ICS/CM9 Rom Alpha #5 and do a build.prop tweek or so.. so we can have use of AT&T and T-Mobile just like you can do on the Stock Moto XT862 rom or The 2.0 Liberty Rom
My Droid 3 is Unlock and I am using Simple Mobile witch is on T-Mobile's Network
it Has Work Fine with Liberty 2.0 and stock Moto Rom i Have try the flashing method on ICS/CM9 but for some reason it wont give me the option to switch to GSM/UMTS on Network settings I have also try going to *#*#4636#*#* and switching is to GSM Only and Nothing Seems to happen, to me it seems like its not Flashing the Radio but not sure... Has any one try doing this?
When you flash a rom its only flashing /system. Your radio.img should stay intact. However cm9 afaik still has issues with gsm, regardless of which radio.img you have

I'm going to be waiting till I get back on Verizon before I try this ROM. Hopefully by then it will be in Beta as well
Same results here. I been trying to get an ICS rom to run with the XT883 radio since I use Straight Talk (Wally's AT$T). But to no avail thus far. If anyone has managed to get them both to work, simultaneously I mean, help me into the "know". Thanks All........
Has anyone had any luck with the New ICS/CM9 Alpha #6?
For CM9, and Verizon Stock ROM to work with GSM:
Replace radio of XT883 into XT862 ROM using Fastboot. Install Safestrap if you want to flash CM9.
After flash the ROM in Safestrap (Don't ask me how to safestrap, Google it), replace the /system/lib/libmoto_ril.so & /system/etc/ppp/peers/pppd-ril.option with xt883's, edit /system/build.prop, changes:
ro.mot.eri=1 >>> ro.mot.eri=0
ro.cdma.nbpcd=1 >>> ro.cdma.nbpcd=0
ro.telephony.gsm-routes-us-smsc = 1 >>> ro.telephony.gsm-routes-us-smsc = 0
ro.cdma.home.operator.isnan=1 >>> ro.cdma.home.operator.isnan=0
find ro.kernel.android.ril=yes, and append these 2 lines below that:
persist.ril.rssi.enable.param6 = 1
persist.ril.baudrate=230400
reboot, then in dialler input *#*#4636#*#*,select Phone Information -> GSM Only (PRL) & same in Wireless & Networks.
Remember most custom ROM are Rooted. For Stock ROM Google for Moto_Fail or Droid 4 exploit and use them.
Thank you so much will try it when I get home I have been waiting for this!!!

One quick question where can i find the /system/lib/libmoto_ril.so & /system/etc/ppp/peers/pppd-ril files do i grab them from a xt883 OTA/Rom? or what? I am trying to do this it with ICS/CM9, Not stock Rom.
after changing the build.prop settings. i cant enter my sim code anymore.
also when entering the *#*#4363#*#* i cant select GSM auto (PRL), stays on Unknown.
Just got an e-mail from Moto asking if I wanted to take part in software testing. Guessing this is for the JB soak test. The quiz monkey site is telling me that my MEID number is wrong (It isn't) and I remember from the ICS soak test, they'll want me to give up root. I'm already running ICS, CM JB and the Liquid Smooth JB, so they may not want me to participate.

I got this as well. Same issue with entering the MEID. Said it needed to be 15 characters even though the MEID is 14. I ended up just sticking a 0 in front of it. If it WAS looking for an IMEI instead of the MEID I guess I won't be getting it. LOL I'll just have to wait for one of you helpful people to post it up here when you get it.
You really don't need to unroot as the update will overwrite it and technically remove it anyway....
You do have to be on stock recovery and have made no changes to any of the files in the /system folder.
You can be rooted, have apps frozen via Titanium Backup, etc.....the update will just unroot you and unfreeze those apps.
It's good news that the Soak Test may have started - do we know what the normal schedule is between the Soak Test starting, and the release actually happening?
Cheers,
Steve.
The Razrs had the official OTA approved within about a day or less of the soak being pushed out. Ridiculously fast.

while that may be true, that's not the kind of test data they are prioritizing. i for one, will be a good little test monkey. I've done backups of everything and i'm going back to 100% stock. i figure if you just want the new shinies, then wait until someone rips the OTA update and posts it. if you actually want to help test it, then you should test it under the conditions they request.
I've been in all the Droid 3 and Droid 4 SOAK test as well as most of them for the Xoom Wi-Fi.....
A rooted device will be unrooted after the SOAK (OTA) is installed. So far as well....every SOAK pushout has become the OTA pushout.
They really just want a wide diverse selection of users and device setups (rooted or not, stock, different app installs, etc...) to see how well the pushout of the update works. Reporting on issues or reporting no issues is better results for Motorola than being a stock device that gets an update they've tested in house already.
The big issue is having a stock /system as it checks for and updates, replaces or deletes specific files (name/size/signature).

Safestrap v 3.thelatest.
16 gig class 10 SD card (couldn't find a 32 gig at 3am)
Stock-ICS

Set the partitions to 1GB and you'll have room to install them.
TBH, I'm probably going to drop ICS and CM once LS has their hands on the OTA JB.

Thanks for the reply. I must have set my partition size to something higher - time for some partition shuffling, but with JB dropping soon maybe I won't lose a lot of sleep over it... :good:
You can make a backup of the rom slot, then delete it, create a new smaller one, and restore the backup.
People have been receiving emails about the soak test and that's pretty awesome. But has the test actually started? Does anyone actually have the jelly bean update yet, or are they waiting for enough people to say yes before they start sending out the updates.
Because I'm a little surprised that no one has posted the update yet. Or can you not pull the soak test updates?
I haven't got the invite to the private forums section... so I'm guessing it hasn't yet started....

Cheesecake?
What are the chances a lone soldier has a D4 with gingerbread and can possibly try the Cheesecake method that was used to pull the ICS updates from the Motorola servers? (f that is even relevant anymore anyway)?

The cheesecake v2 app no longer works, and the current project cheesecake app crashes the phone.
