you overclocked it too much, do a factory reset and try lower values, for me best working setting is:
min:320mhz
max:729mhz
governor: ondemand

Actually 748 is the max safe value. Some kernels (official CM7 kernel) can handle 787, but it's not a good idea.

he must have overclocked both min and max frequency at higher level
when you should only increase max frquency

Overclocking gtab p1000

Hey guys, tried to search for in the forums havent got any luck in finding it. If any of you guys know where the thread for this, please kindly post it here. Thanks
So to my question, at what clockspeed can we overclock our tab without it getting any negative reactions. Meaning, without it busting the battery breaking the tab in whatever way. Had mine overclocked at 1.2ghz. But i want to try it a little more highee.. just want to know if it would be safe.

I wouldn't recommend clocking above 1200. At least with the kernel I'm using max clock speed is 1400 and cranking it up to max almost always creates stability issues.
Okay thanks.. my rom allows me to overclock to 1.6ghz. So well wont try it then. Thanks for the response.

I have 1.4ghz stable, i think it depends the kernel with the another kernel I cant get 1.3 gets stable.
Pd: I have the lastest Ronan's kernel for p1000 l/n
How do you overclock your cpu? I have the stock gingerbread, i have rooted with the DoomLord method, i install SetCPU, but the max value is at 1000 Mhz. How can i raise that value to 1200 Mhz?

you need a custom kernel like CM7, Overcome. y you have a latin america tab [P1000N/L] you can use Ronan or Humberos Kernel. in the developement seccion.
Thanks. I will try Overcome Kratos.

Overclocking Galaxy Note international

Hey guys,
I am pretty new at this rooting stuff and with all my courage I finally rooted my phone successfully without increasing binary counter or any yellow triangle . But I am not satisfied. I am happy with stock ICS but want to overclock the processor.
My question is will overclocking increase the binary counter and display a yellow triangle on my phone? And which tool will be good to overclock. I know few of them like tegrak, setcpu, antutu cpu master etc.
Thank you.

You must have a kernel that allows overclock before you can use those software to set it up. If you flash a kernel using mobile odin it will not increase the binary counter. I used Franco kernel r5 with Franco updater that allows overclock to 1600 MHz.
So does the stock kernal support overclocking?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA
I've rooted my international Note and overclocked to 1.6GHz using Tegrak. All you need is root and that app and you can overclock, and all you do is tap a button and it loads a file into the kernel allowing overclocking within the app. Hope this helps.

I use Franco R5 as well with his app and Tegrak only for the GPU.
Using Tegrak to overclocl to 1.6Ghz never gives me good results...very inconsistent while with Franco I get super performance and consistency that you can see on my youtube channel and that is how I got my personal Quadrant record of 5823 (for those who like benching).
Performance for tough emulators like MAME reloaded benefit greatly from the extra speed.
So will ONLY overclocking with the app (tegrak) and NOT flashing customs kernals increase the binary counter and display yellow triangle at startup?? (I know that triangle causes no harm but still i consider it very ugly
That is my biggest question right now!!

The free version is non-permanent and has to be loaded after every restart. But I don't have a yellow triangle and my binary counter hasn't gone up.
Now this is something totally wierd!! I overclocked my Galaxy Note to 1.6 Ghz and locked the GPU to higher clock but when i ran quadrant, instead of increase in score there was a DROP of 500. And each time i ran it the score went on decreasing.
Score at 1.4Ghz -->3697
Score at 1.6Ghz -->2498 :what:
Can somebody please explain me the reason??

What are the individual scores? The CPU score might have gone up but the GPU might have gone down due to not enough power.

If you are using tegrak that is exactly what happens to me. I get about 4700 stock and with tegrak I can't get my CPU down and score 3k or get a 5k run but with Franco r 5 I get around 5500 and my personal best 5823 so I only use tegrak for gpu

Sadly there is not much options right now to overclock..either Tegrak or a kernel that has it already built in which is why I do not change Franco R5. Hopefully we will get more options soon.

custom roms come with custom kernel which would have helped you in undervolting or overclocking. When you flash stock rom it replaces the kernel with stock kenel, hence back to the normal state.

Try to find out yourself what your ace can handle.

Then flash another rom based on cyanogenmod(i recommend apocalypse and democracy) and try to oc to 902 if u got random reboot or problems, try another step, then choose performance gov.

depends on use,the device will balance a 245 mHz min with your max mHz freq, resulting on a fastest action, resulting on a more low life battery ,u cant set minCPU to 400 but sometimes this goes wrong and device warm up or start to FC more than normally.
Stock roms had 120 min 787 max.
im actually on 245 as min with 824 max, ondemand gov,and device is really smooth !
remember that some Aces cant get more than 806, GT5830 ''L'' (actually that its my SGA letter )reach to 904.

If your custom doesn't support oc, ask the developer for help lol. Alternatively, you could flash another kernel that supports oc. But you gotta get it right.

I recommend to set the max cpu frequency around 729-806mhz, minimal to 245mhz and SmartAssV2 for the governor. I'ts fast enough and the battery live is good. If you set the cpu frequency to the max, your device will become unstable and the battery drain faster.
I'm just giving recommendations. So, everything is up to you.
(P.S. I'm new on XDA )

[Q] way to overclock ace to 1 ghz

hello everyone
can someone help me and tell how that is there a way to overclock ace to 1 GHZ
i mean above 921 mhz ace freezes and reboot it happens i every rom i think so please help me and also tell if it is possibe will it be safe
if you know any kernel or rom in which i can do this then please suggest
Well for mine it doesnt reboots and it depends on your kernel. Use fire kernel oc if you are on cm7.2 or aosp. N max it can reach is 998 Mhz . N if hav CM10.1.x or AOKP n similar then u hav da separate tab in settings to overclock. Overclockin leads to battery drain and also heats up the battery so be careful n hit thnx if helpd

Overclocking to a very aggressive value fries your processor. Also as said above, you get less battery life & the device heats up. Sometimes it is not the values but what you get out of the values matters. I recommend not to overclock above 900 MHz. Btw, to answer your question, there's a kernel called the mad kernel ( donno if it still exists , Google to find it) made by madman. I donno if it supports stock or cm7, you'll have look for it yourself.
