my phone was soft bricked from installing cm10 previews a while back, and recently ive got time to try and unbrick it
i flashed stock tw jw7 with odin and wiped data and cache in stock recovery, pictures of which are attached
but it is still soft bricked
even worse, although i can enter download mode, odin doesn't recognise it when i plug it in
what should i do to fix both the odin problem and the soft brick, if not either?

For USB,
(i) re-install these drivers 64 bit | 32 bit and then
(ii) check cable
(iii) if the above 2 does not help then follow this link for exhaustive list of solution http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27205737&postcount=4571
make sure the drives installed

Ok i put my device into download mode with picture then flashed my i9000 with http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1160580
i now know this was the wrong FW for my device since then i cannot boot my phone normally nor get into download mode with the picture
it works fine just if i pull battery or turn off the phone
all i get is a black screen with "home & back buttons lit up"
however when i attach my device to odine it recognizes the phone first time
i dont have to do anything, i've tried flashing stock FW
same result black screen buttons lit up no DL mode with pic no boot
i've tried flashing FW with sbl success odine tells me,
no luck again, also when i try to flash 3 files
it always hangs then fails on modem, however if i flash allinone it works
but only boots with odine & not on its own & without samsung boot image
i can flash modem on its own via psa tab with success, i've also tried the jig to get into normal DL mode, but to no avail
also when i plug usb cable in & take out battery phone turns off
its like the usb is not a power source, ive tried on my laptop, ac adapter & pc all same result
to summerise:
i can flash my phone however if i turn off device i it will not boot
on its own & have to reflash via odine but with no boot logo only sounds
im thinking the only solution is samsung service centre but i can hazard a guess the price of a new mobo will prob be the same as the phone its self secondhand on ebay
any ideas? thanks
P.S when i flash 2 or more files i use pit 512, what if i didnt use a pit or used a different one would it make a difference?
P.P.S kies does recognize device once its flashed but cant find any updates on FW
would doing an emergency restore with an .sbu file fix this boot issue?
& where could i get an .sbu file from as i didnt do a backup
Did you also check “repartition“ in odin when you flash with the pit file?
It sounds like you've toasted the bootloader flashing a wrong firmware. But since you can get Odin connected and flash you might be able to recover.
You'll need to flash a stock firmware with bootloaders, Darky RE should have bootloaders. Follow the instructions on the page.
Good luck
In fact if you can't go into DL mode you can use a thing called JIG repair.
you'll need a 300K resistor (which exactly 301K) and a micro-USB plug.

It works for me!
Unbrickable mod will fix it.

What ansonscleung linked to is a Jig, Jtag is something completely different all together. If Odin won't recover your phone, I can't guarantee the jig will work. Although it will help getting to download mode and maybe help flashing the proper firmware.

You're correct, guy. A JIG cost about HK$15.5 ($15 for a Micro USB port and $0.5 resistor) (approx. US$1.99 €1.5 not incl. transportation fee) or spend US$8 here.
Hope you can pass through those stuff and enjoy back your phone!

Do you get the Galaxy S logo when the phone is turned on? If you do then your bootloaders are now OK and you can boot into recovery and flash a CWM ROM.

i've researched that method, i know little about soldering
and asked in a phone shop & they knew nothing about it
so i wouldn't attempt it as i would probably screw it up

Hey, a week ago i bricked my tab by flashing a bad rom as an update on another rom. (oakp to paranoind).
I red the guid and stuff, but im not shure if its an soft or hard brick.
When trying to charge it shows the battery but it won't charge, when i power it on it is stuck on the "galaxy tab samsung" screen, i can bring it to download mode, and odin won't recognise my tab.
Have you re-installed the USB driver?
You may need a clean machine if you don't know how to clean up the USB driver.

i allready did that, any other suggestions?
Turn off your tab, fully charge it for 3 to 4 hours.
Open it in download mode, and yes follow the guy's instruction to reinstall your drivers.
Wait first for the computer to read, recognize and install the missing drivers. After it pops a success notification, open odin.
Make sure you have downloaded the stock firmware.
Flash the firmware file. (pda, check reboot and f. Reset time)
It should boot normally.
If you are using cwm recovery, try clearing dalvik and cache partition before flashing the new rom.

Hey guys.
I got here a Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 (without i) and this phone doesn't turn on. Sometimes I'm getting into the "Emergency dload mode" but the usual download mode or recovery doesn't work. In december 2012 i flashed CM7 on this phone, after that I did nothing which could brick the phone. If I'm trying to plug it into my computer to odin that device the computer doesn't recognize the phone ("USB-Device not recognized", so it's not a driver problem, the whole device isn't recognized). If I turn the phone into that emergency dload mode by pressing volume+home+power this mode disappears after a few seconds, sometimes after 3, sometimes after 6, sometimes after 10 seconds. Can it be the battery? I already charged the phone half an hour. Do you think I can reanimate that phone? Or you think i need to jtag it?
Thanks in advance for any help!

But my Problem is that neither Odin nor my Computer recognizes the phone. I am not getting into download mode. Only in the emergency download mode which is not flashable with Odin.
But thanks anyway. I think that phone is dead.

Hi skayable,
You could try installing the drivers, again, just in case.

Did you take the battery out before pressing all the buttons? I've bricked mine a few times now (noob) and have managed to get a connection with Odin each time. Sometimes takes a few attempts, poss to do with my hands being too small to hold all buttons and put battery back in. One time, Odin took several minutes to find the device.
It's probably not a good idea to be using a flat battery. And do try re-installing the Windows standard drivers. Don't give up! If a noob can do it ...
So I sent that phone in service. They said, that the software was modified and the warranty is void. I said, they shouldn't repair it and send it right back. When I got the phone back, it worked! They flashed a new bootloader, found out that it's rooted and sent me back. Good method to get it repaired
That's so funny.
Help with my galaxy ace bricked
Hi guys, im using a rooted 2.3.6, then i did the partition for link2sd, and everything worked perfect, however since i downloaded some apps first before doing the partition, i decided to do factory settings on the phone settings so it would be like a fresh internal memory then begin downloading when link2sd is already placed, however after doing factory reset on settings, my phone just keep on rebooting, everytime i open it, i downloaded the firmware in sammobile, as per advised, however im not sure how to flash it. should i use ODIN, or use CWM and do this process.
Using CWM.
Copy Zip to SD Card
Reboot into recovery
Wipe Data/Factory Reset
Wipe Cache Partition
Install Zip From SD Card
Flash ROM
Reboot
or should i follow this instruction via odin
http://www.droidacid.com/how-to-flash-official-firmware-on-galaxy-ace-gt-s5830-using-odin-droidacid/
Thanks,, kindly reply to this, need help badly.

Galaxy Ace 2 18160
Hi,
My son had this phone and rooted it, bricked it and dumped it. I would like to see if I can make it work again. It is hard bricked so the three button combo doesn't work. Can this be phone get working again?
Please help. It seems that my Galaxy Mini GT-S5570 is hard bricked already. I tried all the solutions there is in our website here and no solution until now. I am now stuck in the Galaxy Logo forever.
I tried rooting it applying update.zip firmwares but it didn't work.
I also tried wiping cache and date but it didn't work.
I also tried to flash via odin but there is no yellow text on the upper left. Odin does not recognize the phone.
I already downloaded samsung devices and i have kies installed already.
This is how it looks like when it is in recovery mode (power button + home button)
as you can see, i only have 4 choices:
Reboot System Now
Apply update from SD Card
Wipe Data Factory Reset
Wipe Cache Partition
Please HELP!!!!
Go to download mode and connect to computer ? This recovery is stock Flash cwm
Try connect to the other PC and try again with ODIN...
wrong section.
Hard bricked = deal with it.
Give it to service or throw to the drawer.
what you wanted to achievie by rooting bricked phone ?
delete kies , restart computer, install samsung usb drivers (xda), restart computer. Turn on into download mode, connect to computer, flash stock, when it start to boot take off battery (unplugged phone) and insert, go to recovery and factory reset. if it won't help, buy new phone
this is not a hard brick
just select the thoice with "factory reset" and normally everything will be just fine , if you can go to recovery so you can theorically get your phone back , i think xda is about helping each other not saying hard brick=deal with it .
As you can clearly see I did proposed solution. But it really should be moved to mini 1 section. mini 2 and mini 2 "revive" procedures may be a little different and we don't want to propose hellp that can totally brick phone, don't we ?
ok first things first, imma noob, and i did a stupid thing.
It started in last summer when i wasnt able anymore to connect the N7000 to my WIN 7 64bit (probably after an update to ICS /JB).
Well since i never needed to transfer files (64GB-sdxc) i didnt care much about it. but then in last times my phone/ram cache was full of so much unblockable bootloaded crapware so that i wanted to switch from a official 4.1.2 firmware to cyanogen. But since my USB wasnt working it wasnt that easy.
Side note: the USB-port was ****ed up before (short-circuit, screen woke up due to fake-loading). i fixed that by luck and some dark magic.. so of course i thought the connection problem were because oif the broken jack.
The day before yesterday i tried for 8 hours anything i could find to install another bootloader and flash CM (CWM / TWRP / Triangle away / minimal adb/fastboot etc.); didnt work, CWM seemed to boot up but loading failed all the time at 1/3rd of the bar at screen went black.
Yesterday my friend came over and i tried to use his USB-jack to connect my phone to my Pc, which failed. THEN i put the "broken" one from mine in his N7000; that was efficacious, everything worked fine, so the USB-jack wasnt the problem.
Later i had, out of frustration, moronism, and anger, the glorious idea to download and flash another (older) Kernel via mobile odin to install an old gingerbread stock rom on it afterwards.
That was stupid as i know now, all i can do now is enter download mode, but without USB-connectivity and the stock bootloader with the options reboot system / update from sd / wipe data / wipe cache / test redbend fota(FS) and boot, which stucks at the N7000-screen.
After i managed to **** things up i found an article which describes my (now former) USB-problem perfectly. it says to put in a special number combination on the phone to get to phoneUtil and then switch from modem mode to pda mode. i knew this screen before but i couldnt find it at the preferences on JB.
Now comes my question: What could be done to unbrick my phone? is there any help?
Can you not try another USB cable? Try cleaning out the pins and see if it works. Then flash speedmod.

>Just to clarify: with USB-Jack i mean the USB-Port with the connector to the motherboard; sorry if i misused the word
I dont think so cause we used only his cable when he was here and my phone neither connected with mine nor with his USB-Jack, but both Jacks worked on his phone.
Pro-question: Is there a difference between (usual) USB-connection in booted mode and connection in download mode? i mean is download mode something like a "safe mode" where the USB doesnt need to run on 100% availabilty? Should i try to find the phone via Odin in downdload mode again by using his cable? i dont think this could work else.
Samsung galaxy note gt-n7000 bricked. Need HELP!!
