You don't understand? It's really not difficult and if you actually bothered to read some of the existing threads you wouldn't have needed to open this pointless one :banghead:
I guess you didn't learn your alphabet?
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
The v10H is the newest .
A is the oldest(I'm not sure) then B then C .... until we get H .

Guys he just asked question if you dont want to tell him which one is latest dont,
At OP
See for yourself which firmware is latest,
And here is nice tutorial flashing it.
It depends on your carrier or most likely your IMEI and the region, if you plug in your headphones and it shows " volume turned down to protect your ears" then you have the latest.
Update in order?
So, two questions to which I haven't found the answer, though it may be because I haven't figured out the correct search terms. 1) Why, if they're updating things such as battery performance and camera focus issues, do different regions have different firmware versions. Presumably, the phone has the same issues worldwide, so why wouldn't they just update globally? 2) Do you have to apply these updates in order? I received my 4x two days ago and it has version e. Do I need to go f, g, h? or will h cover the previous two? Sorry if the answers are in here, but I haven't found them. Thank you

just keep up with latest firmare of your region. Don't need other region's firmware. Development is different in every region. They don't work together that much. So no chanche of global update. Even with jelly bean, different regions will get it in different time as for example honk kong may get within 1st half, 13 and in that place europe (euro open) may get in first quarter (maybe next month). But we will be always be able to flash other country's firmware.
I generally realize that if a phone says it's up to date, then it's up to date. However, this phone was never meant to be in my region (USA) so do I try and find the region it was intended for and keep up with the updates for that region or just leave it be?

Hello everyone,
First of all, I'd like to apologize for resurrecting a topic that was opened by an irresponsible poster, but through my searches, I was not able to find any conclusive information on this topic. I can see that the other three locked threads on the topic have about 1000 views in total, so I believe this topic deserves an open and constructive thread.
The question is, has anyone tried to install firmware for the P880 model on the P880G model we have here in Canada? As far as I know, this model is not available anywhere else. I would appreciate comments from users who may have some insight in the subject, but more importantly, I'd like to hear the results if someone has tried this.
Since the P880G model supports different UMTS frequencies than the P880 model, my guess would be that as long as the baseband firmware does not change the phone should work fine, but as this is my first Android phone there may be other issues that I'm not aware of. Also I don't know whether updating to a new firmware would also change the baseband firmware.
Thanks for your input!

You can be the first one...
As far as I know the flash method is the same, soo, why the new thread?
If you have an issue with different basebands the story is different but, there are some discussions on that. Not about Canada but
related with other countries. You can post your problem or doubt there.
And its enough when you google a little to know the differences about the "P880" and "P880G".
And if I good remember, I already help someone with an issue of that kind.
You have 2 posts, this is one of them... the best for all of us (you, me, and all other users) is that you start to use the "search" option.
Welcome to xdadevelopers, have fun being helped and helping the others.
Thank you. :good:

You can only install the canadian firmwares, so you re stuck with the v10f of windmobile. If you try installing a P880 firmware (like the v20A Euro Open) it will just keep rebooting. I think we have to wait for the canadian update

I am going to buy a galaxy camera but I've some questions about this product.
1) I live in Italy and I found a galaxy camera imported from another country in a shopping online site (so I can save money).
If I buy it, can I use an Italian sim card? So is the camera sim/region locked?
2) Is 4G/LTE supported? And has anyone tried how fast it is?
3) I saw on sammobile that latest Italian kies firmware was released this month, January 2013. Can I flash the Italian firmware also if galaxy camera is not an Italian product?
4) Does flashing a new firmware with Kies increase the download counter? So do I lose my warranty in this way? And can I reset counter with jig o triangle away?

1) I live in Italy and I found a galaxy camera imported from another country in a shopping online site (so I can save money).
If I buy it, can I use an Italian sim card? So is the camera sim/region locked? - Yes you can, it's unlocked
2) Is 4G/LTE supported? And has anyone tried how fast it is? Only on the EK-GC120
3) I saw on sammobile that latest Italian kies firmware was released this month, January 2013. Can I flash the Italian firmware also if galaxy camera is not an Italian product? Flash away! You can flash what you like
4) Does flashing a new firmware with Kies increase the download counter? So do I lose my warranty in this way? And can I reset counter with jig o triangle away? It only increases if you put something custom on there, like if you root it, but it can be reset with "Triangle Away"
1: if it's unlocked(usually is) you can use any(micro) SIM, but 4G might not be the right frequency.
2: there are 3G and 4G versions, so for 4G you need to get the 4G version and check if it supports the frequencies used by your carrier.
3: only if it's the exact same model.
I used the UK update on my Dutch camera and it works fine.
4: flashing a firmware with kies should always be safe.
if kies increases your counter Samsung made a mistake and can't legally void your warranty.
kies however can only flash updates for the region your camera is from to my knowledge.
you can use Odin to flash a different region rom, which is safe as long as the rom is an unmodified stock rom.
depending on which rom you have installed triangle away may or may not work, it should work on older roms and will most likely receive updates(if it didn't already) for newer roms.
a little note on region switching though: there really is not much need if it's a European version.
all European roms include a very large list of languages in settings, which includes Italian.
the only region that really has any advantage would be UK, because they got the last big update before anyone else.
R: Some questions...
Thanks for your answers. So is the latest UK firmware the best? I thought it was the Italian one because I think it's the latest released in Europe.

Can't really comment on that as I've not personally tried the Italian one to make an informed comparison. Usually firmware released around the same time, are essentially the same firmware just with specific region changes.
But looking at the change list numbers, there maybe enough of a difference to say there are more code changes in the latest Italian release.
Only way to know which is "better", is to try them both out yourself, unless someone here who has tried both, can answer that question for you.

Well, there's really not that much to do. When the firmware is available for your customization, people with locked bootloaders will be able to download the update via SEUS to either flash it directly or create an FTF file.
Until the firmware is cleared for launch in your region though, there's nothing that anyone can do to magically make it appear. That's just the way it works :/

This really isn't Sony's fault. Usually OEMs will have firmwares ready for everyday use (with some bugs though), only weeks after the release of a new Android version. The time between then and the actual OTA release of the firmware to the community is spent partially on fixing these bugs, but mostly on geting the firmware certified in each country around the world. This certification procedure includes testing of the WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC and everything else that has to meet a certain standard. Unfortunately, not all of these tests are standardized, meaning that a lot of certifications has to take place in each country respectably, since a lot of countries have different demands to approve the firmware. (This is the main reason for the delay between different regions, since different countries finishes these tests at different times)
When this LONG procedure is done, you might have a carrier that wants to add some software (aka bloatware) to the firmware before they also approve its release. It is not until then that the actual firmware for your region will be available for download, so as you can see, the process of releasing new firmware is quite an extensive one.
Hi all,
maybe that is expected but I thought my Note 4 should be subject of Lollipop Update. Device information says "SM-N910F".
I am on Stock firmware, no root or so.
Is Lollipop not available for my device yet or am I doing something wrong.
Thanks in advance guys for feedback.
Cheers from Germany
waintg like i do SM-N910F (TPL)
I read somewhere that lolipop update was canceled because of problems with Poland ROMs
Really? I thought it's spread now for nearly every version

Canceled lol? No it is not "canceled" it is rolling out to the device in different regions...just wait until it hits your region.
Its not rolling out to any region but Poland & Korea for C version and Germany for F... something bad spotted in beta testing, they're recoding firmwares and the update is on hold. As it rolls out to much older devices, we with Note4 have to still wait. It's just as it is... Samsung fails to satisfy its flagship owners one more time.

Thanks KS ljubimci. That's why I'm wondering. I believe to be on F and am in Germany as well. Now you guys got really confused.
They are saving the best firmware for us till last as they experiment on other devices (^_-) shall be worth the wait.

Completely normal way for Samsung. Poland and Korea usually first and after a while they will spread to other regions.
I expect, for Europe, the UK next followed by France, Italy and Spain.

If someone bad (as in show stopping bad) would have been discovered they would not have released the final version in Poland or Germany.
They may adjust some small things for other regions but nothing indicates that they pulled the plug on the update. (if a real problem would had been discover they also would have stopped rolling out Germany and Poland)
Guys, just to repeat: I AM in Germany and AM on F but Update not showing. So what's wrong then?
Download it from sammobile if you really need it. I myself had to downgrade in order to get my things work the way I want them to. Besides I'm not a fan of the lollipop animation gimmicks at all.
So it is Only available from sammobile and expected behaviour that it's not offered via KIES or OTA?

No. It should be offered via KIES or OTA. But if Samsung really pull back the update due to some bugs, you won't be able to get them either way so you have to download from Sammobile if you can't wait for Samsung to release them again.
Hmm okay. So we ASSUME it was pulled back then.

Nah, if your deviece is carrier branded than it's completely normal not to receive the update.
It isn't branded
You probably have a different csc.

Hi guys,
I need advice for the s21 Ultra that i bought on Rakuten. In the description the seller said it was an international/US version and at this time I didn't know that it could cause problems knowing that I live in France. I have the G998U/DS version
For now the phone is working perfectly. I don't have all the problem i can see in other thread like the broken GPS, a poor network, wallet broken etc. Everithing is ok.
But i need advice for the last update with Android 13. Actually i get the Android 12. And of course the phone does not offer me any updates. I know this is because i have a US version and i live in France.
So question 1 : Do you think I will eventually get the update in the future ?
Question 2 : If I install the update by flashing the phone, won't I have all the problems that others have with this us version and living in France ?
Thanks for your support fox.

Hi,
If everything is working out of the box, then you shouldn't worry much. It's always better to install the update via OTA. It doesn't matter where you live/use the device, as long as there's an update for your device (Snapdragron chipset and CSC), it should automatically show up. If you want to install the update manually, then it's better to download the official update via Frija and install the update via Odin.
Hi,
Thanks a lot for your answer. It help me a lot.
About the update, i read everywhere that where we live/use the device is impact the update. For now i don't have any update that show up. I am in Android 12 and i should have the android 13 update.
Lot of people said that i probably never had the update because it's an import us version and live in France.
What about that ? Do you thinks i will get the update in the future ?
Thanks again
It seems you are on a March update. I have a feeling your device's was a locked device which was then unlocked...I could be wrong through...https://samfrew.com/model/SM-G998U/ Here's what I could pull up regarding your device's update. You need to careful on which file you download as I don't see any OXM ROMs for US devices...they are provided by carriers.
Ok,
I think in my case, update will not be possible. I'll stay in Andoird 12 until next phone. Never buy again in Rakuten ahah.
Thanks for all your help.

Just try and not working but that was a good idea
When i chek on Frija, he give me this :
What do you think about this update ?
Edit : this firmware contains these files
If you are sure of the CSC, go ahead. The reason is yours is not OXM rom so you have to be extremely careful when choosing the files.

Ok, thanks, i think i'll do the update.
To be sure, you mention a OXM ROM but i can see that i have o OYN rom like you see in this screen :
I really can't place the device's region. There's no region called GCF in Samfrew. I feel it's a subset of another region. Dunno
Finally I did not dare to flash my phone, I am too afraid that I can not use it anymore
Anyway, thank you very much for your help
