Yes... Sometimes the rom uses a very small partion of the ram.
The remaining space is completely dedicated to your applications.
Ah.. that is not a taskmanager, that's a tab of the statusbar
Thx, and don't forget to keep up your good work. Will be there any update sooner?

this gonna be very objective review of your rom...
1.. no major bugs, thats a +...
2. a lot of a small bugs that makes this rom really anoying
a) graphical glitches, im afraid im gonna brick my display sometimes when i see that
b) apps from play store and so many of them??? why?
ex dialer and contacts,
360 everything,
miui file manager,
memo from stock,
multilingua keyboard, most unstable keyboard on market,
root explorer is warrez, delete it...
cpu frills, any other cpu app that is not SYSTEM app that means stock app, is a problem, cause task killers and omm grouping itself kills it, but after its reactivate it, its cool but manage to get stock settings works with that
its like this rom is based on gathering apps and put them in rom, a very nice base rom, that this apps makes it ugly and confusing..
everything works, thats a major +
my advice for future update: make it slim and simple...maybe its just me, but i dont like cartoon like launchers, 10 apps for dial, contact, sms, so many boosters...
for first release its not that bad, it needs a lot of work...take my advice seriosly, i tried almost every single rom on this forum, i know what i am talking about...and dont quit developing/porting

OK, i accept all that critics.
The reasons why i installed so many play store apps is because i'm resizing the originals of mokee and i need some substitutes.

i understand that, so leave this initial release, and do not publish anything until you solve that problem...its a great idea, but dont let this port be unfinished, a lot of work, and you will manage all the bugs...keep up a good work

for me this rom is oke. if u can modify the status bar. using miui status bar is enough. and for the application. the contact n dialer are more to cm7 try to theme it into other theme. and overall is oke. for pie control i think u should make a patch. not everybody love soft button n pie control. especially in our tiny screen. hee thanks dev.

I want to thank those who have made a donation, I maintain the theme as best I can and update for new ROM updates as soon as I can, sometimes the workload of the day job causes some delays but I appreciate the donations from those who choose to do so, it means alot.
These screen shots are a little out of date now
feature / details requests / ideas, post them here.
Thanks particularly to drpfenderson, djengizz, AndroidAppCritic & garok89 for their help along the way, and anyone who threw in ideas that I've neglected to mention.
I've called this 'MarksTheme' because I'm Mark, and I made most of this theme.
I'm not really into the codewriting of it all, infact I rarely venture into so much as an XML, but I do like things to look nice.
I'm a fine-arts photographer by profession, a very visual person, I make and source png's and bring them together in this theme as whatever I feel looks nice.
Thanks particularly to drpfenderson maker of Enoch and EnochX which got me started

Problems?
If you are asking for help, try and help yourself first.
flash a rom, make sure the rom works, flash the theme, make sure the theme works, flash extras and check that they work.
'repair ext filesystems' helps the 'stuck at G1 bootscreen' thing.
'fix_permissions' can help problems with forcecloses.
clearing caches helps with software freaking out.
Theme problem? reflash the theme.
Still a problem? reflash the ROM, then the theme.
Bigger problem? reflash HTC 1.6, then the ROM, then the theme.
Big-Ass problem? Wipe, reflash HTC 1.6, then the ROM, then the theme.
Holy F*****g Crap? Format and repartition your SD, Wipe phone, reflash HTC 1.6, then the ROM, then the theme.
It's up to you to go out there and find out how to do these things properly.
When asking for help, people need to know,
Phone model and region
ROM name and version
theme name and version
what is the problem
what causes the problem to occur
what have you already tried that has failed to fix it

FAQ's
After installing it's taking forever to boot up - it can take up to 30 minutes to get past the G1 screen sometimes with a first install
My Gmail isn't coming in automatically - clear gmail cache and data, then reboot, usually fixes it
I applied the themed google apps and something isn't working - flash the standard google apps from HERE
It all went to crap and I didn't make a nandroid backup - then you're a muppet.
I've got a problem and I want you to fix it - aint happening, first thing you should do is look through this thread, or search through it, if you have no luck then look in threads for other themes for the same ROM, if that fails then put up a shout in here, maybe I can help, maybe someone smarter than me can help, maybe.
Can you change X? I don't like it. - short answer = no. Long answer = this theme is how I like it, I listen to all ideas and suggestions and maybe I'll change something based on that if I like the idea or enough people ask for it, thats why there are three versions of the lockscreen and no lockscreen in the basic theme, also there are a load of custom launchers. When I have the time I make pretty stuff.
Who the hell are you anyway? - google is your friend, it ain't hard.
I love your theme and want to send you money, fast cars, promiscuous women, etc - Donate link in sig.

I'm releasing two wallpaper packs of my photography.
These packs are in zip files, unzip to a suitably named folder on your SD card and then navigate to the image you want to use in your phone.
Please remember folks that this photography is how I make my living, therefore these wallpapers , photographs and the packs they are distributed in Exclusively By Me may not be re-distributed, altered, manipulated or changed in any way, nor may they be claimed or implied to be the property of or the work of anyone else.
The first wallpaper pack isn't family friendly, therefore you need to click HERE to see the index of images and HERE to download the zip
You may only do so if the laws of the country you reside in say that you are old enough to look at boobs
The second wallpaper pack is totally family friendly, the index image is shown below, and the zip can be downloaded HERE
(Yes, one of the photos in there ended up twice, I can't be bothered with changing it )

These are a few apps that I use and like, no affiliation blah blah blah, some are free, some are paid (c'mon, they're cheap!), search for them in Android Market, in no particular order:
CacheMate clears your cache, either when you tell it to or periodically, sweeet.
Pure Calendar Widget (agenda) the neatest and most configurable I've found.
PowerTime Widget the best chance you've got of predicting how much juice is left in your battery
Advanced Task Manager among it's many cool features is an auto-kill for running apps (with an ignore list), nice.
File Explorer (Quick Finder) for exploring your files, and, erm, quick finding them, I guess..
GDE - The new home experience! that cool cube homescreen thing, you know it, it's sweet dude.
Bettercut custom icons for your shortcuts
Handcent SMS (NEW) the nicest (and now very configurable and customisable) messaging app.
WeatherBug Elite Weather prediction is important in my work, this has sh1tloads of data
MyBackup Pro does what it says
Screenshot ditto
Snowstorm Weather Widget this one stands out because it'd 4x1 can 4 days or split the day into 4 periods, so the displayed weather prediction is accurate to 6 hours instead of 24 (it's gonna rain today huh? when?) see what I mean?
Backup for root users another backup thingy
Overclock Widget keep it nice and easy when the screen is off, then ramp that puppy up when you're using it!
Nightwatch when I plug my phone into my charger, anytime between midnight and 6am (configurable), it automatically fires up a nice bedside clock, win!
Sticky Memo Widget Pro I have a rubbish memory, I like notes...
Retro Clock Widget pretty clock widgets
gTasks google tasks, nice to-to list
Steel browser, prefer it to stock
Y5 Battery Saver learns where your preferred wifi is at and turns wifi off when you're not there, thus saving juice (doesn't use GPS)
Quickpedia wikipedia app, because I like to look clever by knowing stuff about stuff
Twit2go twitter client, like it.
If anyone wants to include any of their free apps with my theme, let me know and if I like it we're on, I can also be bribed with pounds stirling, guinness, chocolate muffins and naked girls.

Loving this theme, too many people don't take the time to make nicely rendered icons and widgets.
Power control widget = sick.
One thing though, I noticed there are "ghost" images in the app drawer (images of the apps above it). Is that on purpose?

which is the red/blue loading bar? maybe I missed something....
not sure about the red background myself, I added it after changing the buttons so they'd stand out, might shift them back onto black in next update.
I have no idea what I'll be doing next probably just tweaking and improving this one as I don't really have time for a whole new theme. all suggestions for tweaks and improvements gratefully received!

ok, I'll check it out, I just saw it too on mine.
Good to know it's not just me.
Ok, after messing with it, I got a few suggestions for the next release.
1. The background for the keyboard would look good either completely transparent or an opaque black, like the app drawer.
2. Do away with the "hypnotizing eye" loading animation and use something, cleaner and with more pop. This theme is way too clean to be using somthing that looks like a runic symbol.
3. For the app drawer pull tab, use either white, black or red. White would be best because it would look like the glow was coming from your trackball (which, on my MT3G, it does.)
4. Also, has anyone thought to make the pull tab look like the notification bar? that would make a clean and simple border for both ends of the screen, and give it some unification and symmetry.

i like that idea..
can you incorporate this in this!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=576310
it makes contacts on incomin and outgoing bigger.. i like it..
so this is what i have been messing with for the past few days since i think not so super froyo has hit a point that im happy with for the moment
my goal with this build is to get rid of as much of the unneeded apps as possible and shrink the system down as small as it can.
things that are removed from the initial install that are in fresh froyo
-HTC_IME
-Gmail, google search, voice search and pretty much every other google app that can now be installed from the market
-as always live wallpapers and launcher 2 are gone
- the how to use android widget
- their are no other wallpapers or galleries installed on this build too their are plenty of the apps on the market for that
- THIS BUILD IS ENGLISH AND SPANISH ONLY!
things that are in it
- a new blue theme i have been working on (some of the .png's are from losteden, vellowax and some other various themes), its pretty close to perfect but their might be a few hiccups still
- ADW is still the launcher of choice and its still in /data for easy removal
- a different themed clock
- zip align on first boot
- astro and rogue tools are both installed in /data
known issues
- ADW still does the could not load widget error like in Not so super
I was going to odex this build but wasnt able to get the ADB driver to work correctly (if somebody does manage to get it Odex'd feel free to post it)
Also this was merely a test to see how light i could get it and it ended up being decently stable, i don't know how much updating i am going to do to it.
RLS2
-car home and car home launcher removed
-music player removed as their are tons of replacements in the market
- now odex'd
New in odex'd RLS3
-street.apk is now removed since maps is also gone
- voicedialer is also gone seeing at the newest version of voice search on the market can voice dial also it seems pointless
- lowered the volume on the camera shutter noise
RLS4
- newer version of fresh froyo (thanks scooter)
- Now using ADW standalone with a myn warm twopointtwo inspired look
- Flutey phone ringtone now include by default
- different wallpaper this time around
- bright blue themed desk clock
- more "sensible" notification drawer
RLS5
-fixed facebook sync
-fixed the graphical issue with the status bar highlights being green instead of blue
-added the blue keyboard from my Galaxy S theme/port (delete key is a little small but the keyboard file size is overall smaller.
-new boot animation that goes better with the theme

DOWNLOAD RLS1 DEODEX
here is an odex'd version of the build, the music player is also removed seeing as there are a ton of free options for that on the market that do it better
also this is untested as far as data and sms, it should work fine ( i did check to make sure there was not a call hang issue)
ODEX DOWNLOAD RLS5
right on good job, i was wondering how long before someone would make a stripped down version. ive been using
Incubus26Jc's Super FroYo 2.2.1 [Deodexed] [RLS13] and removed all the same aps you have aswell as camera, bluetooth, car home rogue tools..think thats it....ive also installed 2-3 apps. i managed to have 37mb free after boot up but it slowly works its way down to 20-27mb throughout the day even with closing all open applications and emptying caches....once i reboot its fine again..
do you happen to know how much space if freed up on nand on this?
im digging the blue theme too
I understand that ADW is your launcher of choice, but in a build like this, meant for speed and being light weight why wouldn't you use LauncherPro? Again, I know it's your preference but it's just a thought. The fact that it can be removed easily is great as well as I'll be grabbing LauncherPro after the install. I just always thought ADW was a bit slower than LauncherPro. Anyways, thanks for this! I was waiting for a build like this and the closest was freshFroyo which was a little too bland
thoughtlesskyle,
I like your ROMs, each new release is faster and nicer
Could you add a more advance power control widget like the CyanogenMod ROM?
Could you add some advance settings similar as the CyanogenMod Settings?
Keep going on with the good stuff.
Love this build, light and fast! The blue theme is soo refreshing especially in the messaging app, i got sooo bored of the grey and black.
I really like the blue theme including the notification bar with battery indicator, any way to use it on your main rls? Can you post an update?

my reasoning for using adw is simple, so version 1.1.5 doesnt feel too clunky too me and also i feel that launcher pro takes away alot of functionality unless you buy the full version, things like resizing widgets and that stuff are all locked in the free version where as ADW doesnt have that issue

thoughtlesskyle,
I like your ROMs, each new release is faster and nicer
Could you add a more advance power control widget like the CyanogenMod ROM?
Could you add some advance settings similar as the CyanogenMod Settings?
Keep going on with the good stuff.

as far as adding those settings i dont think i can CM builds are built off a modified source code, so like they dont use a services.jar for theming and stuff
what i can do though is i can strip down a version of the CM6 port and theme it you will just have to to adjust the clock color and notification ticker color in CM settings
and last but not least any apps you guys would like to see removed for a next build?
and im really glad you all like it, and the total file size of this androidinstall.tar is 69.5MB's Not So Super 91.2 all languages, so a considerable space savings

right on good job, i was wondering how long before someone would make a stripped down version. ive been using
Incubus26Jc's Super FroYo 2.2.1 [Deodexed] [RLS13] and removed all the same aps you have aswell as camera, bluetooth, car home rogue tools..think thats it....ive also installed 2-3 apps. i managed to have 37mb free after boot up but it slowly works its way down to 20-27mb throughout the day even with closing all open applications and emptying caches....once i reboot its fine again..
do you happen to know how much space if freed up on nand on this?
im digging the blue theme too

look in the market for an app called hot reboot, it reboots just the shell of android (closes all apps and processes just like a restart) and takes just a few seconds

Ah, makes sense. I tend to forget about these things considering I bought launcherpro. Again, thanks fr this ROM. It is really stable and really fast.

I love having stripped down builds, but the HTC_IME is a must for me. I think that's the only thing holding me back from trying this (currently using your rls17).
Is there an apk for the HTC_IME (for 240x320 resolution) around anywhere? All the HTC_IME apk's I keep finding are the wrong resolution and look like crap on 240x320.
Or is there some other way to install the HTC_IME other than through an apk?
Edit: I think I found it in the system apps. I'll just try throwing it into this build and seeing if that works. Haha!

Are you going to release an all language version?
It's not easy to type a SMS in dutch (or other language) because of T9 is always on.

i didnt plan on making a full language one only because it would take up alot more space on the system, did you try turning the text prediction off in settings?
and if enough people want all languages i can do it but like i said this was kind of a one off project, and im also still playing with it to see what else i can strip out

Do you know which files I need to add or update for all languages?
What I found with comparing fresh froyo the EU and ALL are the following files:
system\framework\framework-res.apk
..\resources.arsc
..\META-INF\CERT.SF
..\META-INF\MANIFEST.MF
..\res\raw-*
system\lib\libicudata.so
* all languages
I thought that the resources.arsc is modified for 1% battery in your EU ROM.
May be someone can do the same modification in the resources.arsc of the ALL Language ROM.

[AOSP]LiquidMetal for the Incredible
First I'd like to thank BigRushDog for his ROCK SOLID Metal build that this RC1 Incredible build is based off of. I also want to thank Sac23 and bmxerkid954 for allowing me to port their build to the Incredible, that I used for previous versions of this rom. BIG Thanks to Koush and the Cyanogen team for their CM6 files and all that they do. Thanks to Koush for his kernel and too many contributions to name. Special thanks to gmichaelow for answering my silly questions. Special thanks to IncredibleDoes for the original Liquid port. Special Thanks to ALL of my testers for their time and trust that their phones wouldn't get bricked.
If I forgot anyone, it wasn't intentional. PM me and I will update this. Oh yeah, thanks to ME for bringing this to my Dinc brothers and sisters!

BigRushDog's thread is here.
Sac23 and bmxerkid954's thread is here.
This ROM is based on Android 2.2 (Froyo) and is built from the Android Open Source Project Code (AOSP) With the Acer Liquid Metal UI on top.
Known Issues
Proximity Sensor doesn't turn the screen off immediately, but prevents buttons from being pressed when the phones against your face and eventually does turn the screen off. (Works perfectly on LiquidLight)
Videos not playing (HIGH priority for me right now) (Fixed)
Mobile Network Settings FCs (Caused by Uncapped Data Mod - See post #2 for a patch to remove this mod)(Uncapped is not default. Will post flashable zip)
Location and Security FC's (Crazy workaround: Rename Phone.apk to Phone.apk.bak, reboot, go into menu and make changes, rename back and reboot - thanks iceman99393)
Internal Memory not mounted (Fixed)
No LEDs for notifications (I'll see what I can do. Any help is appreciated)
LED flashes orange when charging and turns solid orange when fully charged
No TV Out
Changing the Dolby Mobile settings could throw you for a loop.
CarHome doesn't play nice and will not be included.
Light sensor (Rom includes Brightness widget)
PLEASE READ - Tips & Tricks:
To Drag Icons to Other Screens Faster
Drag the icon to the numbers at the bottom of the app drawer
To Dial *228 for Activation or PRL update (*228 FC's on some AOSP roms)
Dial *228+ (long press the numeral zero key to add the plus sign)
To Hide the Whole Dock or Half of it
Drag ALL of your icons for the launcher into the app drawer and the notification bar will rest at the bottom of the screen.
Leave just 4 icons in the top row of the launcher and the dock will become half size.
To Do Normal Reboot/Recovery Reboot
Use Quick Boot app.
To Make the Weather More Accurate
Open your widgets app (either with the icon or by long pressing the home button, while the screen is unlocked).
Long press the weather widget and drag it to the trash can in the bottom left.
Hit the "+" button and add weather again. It will let you search for your specific city.
If You don't Like all of the Vibration Feedback, You Can Turn it Off
For Buttons: Settings-->Sound-->Haptic feedback
For Stock Keyboard: Settings-->Language and Keyboard-->XT9 Text Input-->Preferences-->Vibrate on Keypress
If You Don't Like the Transitions, You Can Turn Them Off
Settings-->Display-->Animation-->Some or None
If You Don't Like the Launcher, Install Your Favorite Launcher (FIRST!!!!) and THEN Change it
Settings-->Applications-->User Interface. After rebooting it will ask your to choose you launcher (DO NOT CHOOSE LAUNCHER2) (Thanks cooljames2186 for finding this)
If you don't install another launcher before doing this, you may end up in a bootloop
If You Select Custom Wallpapers and No Longer Want Them Displayed in the Wallpaper (Home Decor) app
Use Root Explorer (or your favorite file manager) and navigate to here: /data/data/com.acer.android.breeze.launcher/wallpapers/user/
Delete any of the numbered folders (i.e. 1, 2, etc)and they will immediately disappear from the wallpaper app.
What's Included
MMS (Send/Receive)
720P Camcorder
8MP Camera
GPS works
Bluetooth works (Wiimote should work but I can't test that)
Working Wi-fi
Wireless Tether (I've tested with included kernel, after the initial WirelessTether update from the market)
Koush's kernel from CM6.1 (Thanks Koush!)
Gingerbread Keyboard is the default
Google Talk
AdFree
Brightness Widget
Nemo Player
T9 Dialing like SENSE!!!
MORE Acer Bloatware Removed
Zipaligned and Deodexed
VERY Fast System (Please allow it to settle down after first flashing)
New widgets
Verizon apps show up in the market
and much, much, more..
Instructions
Download the Rom and the Phone Fix to your SD card.
Nandroid
Wipe, Wipe, Wipe again.. Oh yeah.... WIPE!
Flash the rom zip via recovery.
Boot it fully (You won't get a FC if you hit back arrow at region selection, but the FC doesn't hurt anything).
Go through set up or skip though it.
Flash the phone fix via Rom Manager or recovery
Set up your Gmail account, let it sync, get your updates from the market.
It may be sluggish after your first boot. Please give it 15 mins or more (depending on how much media you have on internal memory and your sdcard) because the media scanner is going through all of your media, adding it into it's database and creating thumbnails.
Enjoy!

This is basically the same as LiquidMetal with a working proximity sensor that turns the screen off immediately. It doesn't have the weird orange artifact box in the email app or browser (see screenshot below). It's also about 20MB smaller in file size. I added the regular music app with it's widgets that work well. Remove the default music widget and add One of the stock ones (i.e. 4x2, etc). Besides that it has the same known issues as LiquidMetal as well as a widget screen FC from time to time that doesn't hurt anything.

everything is working great on my SLCD was wondering is there a way to make app drawer on home screen bigger and can i add widgets to the homescreen not lockscreen... UI is different with this one i like it alot also my battery light seems to be blinking orange instead of staying solid while charging not sure if that something to be worries but or not but thats about the only thing i saw that was different ill let you know if anthting else changes

::::::::::::::::::: DESCRIPTION ::::::::::::::::::::::
THE TEAM::: only I am left, Einsteinno1 (but big thanks to Elvnox, Jackmu95 and Gerrett, which worked with me at the beginning)
Hi, we created this Rom because we liked the speed features of CM7, but hated always the style. We came all from MIUI and have been a little bit spoild with the design. Most of the stock Apps like Phone, MMS or Browser look way better in MIUI than in CM7. Also ADW Launcher is in our view pretty ugly.
On the other side, ICS looks pretty nice and we though why not combine the best of both worlds. Therefore, we put the ICS Design with the best of MIUI and some other stuff. For example exDialer is such a better Dialer App.
A big thanks goes to Amarullz for his great AROMA INSTALLER and his Support. I already created 2 Roms with it and was the second one who every had a Aroma Rom, but this Version is the best with nearly every feature Aroma Installer offers. Even the Options are saved for later use. BIG THANKS Amarullz.
THIS is my Last Edition because I sold my LG. Anyway, there aren't any big developments in CM7 since months and I don't believe that there will be an official ICS from LG. Have fun with it and I try to support as good as I can.

:::::::::::::::::::::: Installations IMPORTANT ::::::::::::::::::::::::::
CM7 is not so easy to modify as MIUI was, therefore, you have to do some thinks manually to get the perfect Chuck Norris Feeling. The installation is pretty easy. Go into your Recovery -> click on "install zip" -> "choose zip" and search for the Rom, which you downloaded on your SD Card. Everything during installation will be adjusted with the AROMA Installer. Note that Touch works and you can also scroll down.
WE RECOMMEND for everybody who comes from another Rom to use FULL Wipe. Once on Chuck you can do always a Non-Wipe. Users coming from Kang could actually use NON-Wipe, but don't blame us if something doesn't work.
To get the perfect Chuck Norris Feeling you have to:
choose at the first boot "GoLauncher" as your Standard Launcher and set it to forever
click on your HomeScreen on your MenuKey on your Defy and choose "Themes" and activate "NewMIUI Theme"
click again on your HomeScreen on the MenuKey and open up the "Preferences" of GoLauncher. Click on "Visual Settings" -> "Icons" -> and choose "Icon size" to "Large Size"
still in the GoLauncher Settings -> click on "App drawer settings" and choose under "App Drawer Scrolling orientation" -> "Vertical continous"
back on the HomeScreen click on the Phone App and choose "exDialer" as your favorite Dialer ( if installed )
now Kernels have to be downloaded through UpdateME. Etana Kernels can be chosen directly with Extra RAM
Temasek has to be used with Terminal Emulator. Just type "su" which gives you Root Permission. Close Terminal and open it again and type "su" after that "rh" and choose your Ram Hack. After that type "sync & reboot" and thats it.
Etana is pretty simple. Use also "su" and after that "otf", choose your Ram Hack, activate it with "5" and type also "sync & reboot" to finish.
at the end I would open GetRIL if needed and balance your RIL and Baseband with each other, usually the preferred one is the best
So now you should have a fast and nice designed system. Hopefully everything works for you and have a look at Settings, CM7 has even more options as Miui has.
Have fun with it

:::::::::::::::::::::: BUGS and INFOS ::::::::::::::::::::::::::
IMPORTANT!!! there is a big bug with CM7 when you place Pictures on your SD Card and connect to your PC they will be deleted. Happens with MIUI Mount
If you installed with a RIL and have problems with Data Connection just try to install it again with GetRIL.

jeah you know CHUCK NORRIS has a Website, its called the Internet
P.S. hei1125 thanks, was a lot of work and already working on a better Defy Version which will support external language files. I see you making also great progress with your AROMA capabilities. This tool is so great, everybody should have it. I will try you Rom tonight, only to look how stable CM9 right now is, because still last Version I tried ( think was 1.1 HD Plus ) was ok, but so many functions missing and battery was not good. Anyway I think ICS isn't much better than GB is. Some better Design here and there, but telle me one BIG Difference which pops out. Taskmanager is nice, but taks to long and why to kill Apps from it, there is enough Ram. THE ONLY think that makes ICS desirable is CHROME, nothing else, and still it is crashing in Kang.
Downloading @ very slow speed , google translate is our friend dont worry bout that.

ICS battery consumption is much lower if you find the best BB and Ril combination. The biggest disadvantage is that no hardware decoding of videos.

battery for me with ETaNa 48 LOCDS is AWESOME, best ever had, but you have to see the WARNING,,, because Battery Monitor shows a crazy course, sometimes you battery goes up, even it is not loaded at this time. Summarise it, if you can live with a quite strange battery display you will have the best life ever
Don’t get me wrong, ICS is cool. But lets summarize it
Design = yeah of course ICS looks better. Contact App looks better, Phone App also, Lockscreen is cool, Settings is now structured, but for me even worst, Camera is pretty simple, Calendar is my favourite design, Gtalk is really cool and Gmail, and all other Apps stayed pretty the same.
BUT you can get the look of ICS with CM7 Themes, I think ExDialer is the best looking Dialer and Contact App, Lockscreen is available for other Roms too, and the other Apps are quite ok.
Speed = you can say what you want but a CM7 with some ETaNa or Iron Kernel are way faster than CM9.
Battery = tried it and it is ok but CM7 with a tweaked Kernel gets to nearly 2 days with good use, even Stock is not so good.
Features = lets face the great advantages of ICS’s new features
-> Faceunlock = wow who uses this stuff, it doesn’t work in a dark night, is easy to cheat on
-> Camera Landscape = something I think every Device has build in his standard Kamera App, doesn’t matter if LG, HTC, Samsung and as LG Camera is ported to CM7 and works fine there is no need for this Camera App
-> Voice Recognition = normal Voice Search works, but not the good one with Voice Instructions
-> Launcher/Folder = ok it is a good Launcher and hey we can now create folders, but this is something every GoLauncher, QQLauncher, LauncherPro has in it since months. Also they have themes and more features than build in launcher.
-> Lockscreen/Call Screen = this has to be recognised as a really cool design. Lockscreen is also available in CM7 but Call Screen looks really nice.
-> Notification = SAME SAME, swipe also works in CM7
- > Keyboard = it is way better than the old one, still not as good as Swipe, Smart Keyboard or my favourite Swift
-> Multitasking Manager = this one is also way better than in CM7, but still who uses this stuff. I am faster when I click the Home Button and press on my favourite App, as scrolling through all the Apps in the list. And who kills Apps, we have enough Ram and speed is really good, no need to kill Apps.
-> Browser = is OK, but CHROME is sooooo much better,, the only thing for me ICS is good
Finally;;; except the Design and Chrome there are no real advantages
i personally really like all the ICS apps much more than gingerbread ones, especially the gallery and its editing features and the stock ics browser. i like it more than opera mobile tbh.
and yea..design is quite important for a lot of people
of course,, but speed and battery consumption for some others of course ICS is AWESOME, but for me not ready jet
Just a quick question: your ROM is CM7 based - do I need to wipe when coming from CM7 Kang (Temasek #69 to be precise)?

The Rom is based on the FINAL KANG of temasek so it's normally possible to use non-wipe but the rom contains a lot of extra stuff and it´s better to use fullwipe the first time you flash it but you are also able to flash it as non-wipe.
Possible Bug with Gallery Usage
Hi,
after new Installation an using the gallery to change my wallpaper. After a while I checked the battery usage ... and found the gallery process as numer on battery eater.
Can anybody confirm that behavoiur?
Thanks, Alex
Ahahaahah Chuck Noris Nice one
Testing mode on...
First up, it didn't ask me to setup a Google account at 1st or 2nd boot. Is it normal? I hope I won't encounter bugs 'coz it skipped that part. I'm used to being asked when coming from a full wipe from other ROMs to avoid Home button bugs.
(Or does Chuck Norris set it up for you. )
so first post is uptodate

no its normal because SETUP Wizard is usally deactivated, if you need one it will ask when you want to open Gmail oder Market.
Would people be interested in a darker version of the Settings, popups, and general UI of the ZF2 that the theme chooser doesn't affect?
I started working on something here for a preview:

You didn't tell how you will achieve this goal.
If it will be in the form of patches for system apps/framework, then i don't need.
ASUS actively updates ROM and system apps (even through google play) and patches will add instability and other side effects.
But at the same time i would be glad to see extended themes allowing to change system-wide GUI style if ASUS theme engine supports it.
There are patches for some GAPPS. While patched apps (dark theme) are looking nice, i found that with every update (and GAPPS updated very often) i had to look for new patched version or even wait for it. So, after several such iterations, i gave up and just got used to white theme.

Sorry to disappoint, but right now modding the system apps/framework is the only way to achieve this. Technically you could use the theme engine to mod the system app, but that defeats the purpose. The theme engine in its current state doesn't have permission to change these types of files.
The only thing that I'm changing in the settings files are color values so it hasn't added any instability. Hunting for these values though...
My goal for this was to make a temporary change to settings, but I could write a script to reupdate it after a new OTA rolls in.
Nice progress, would love to have all black menus, quicksetting and popups, autoblack gapps too if possible like Dark Material theme I was using with cm, no need for modded gapps
I won't be updating anymore, waiting for native linux for dual boot. I used the Light ZE550 Rom and striped it down to ~500Mb with everything working for VoIP and quickcharge; much more can be removed though especially if we use Nova launcher. Booting at 3.1-3.3Gb Free RAM with 720P resolution ; close to 50200 Antutu and 4320 Vellamo Browser. Especially that ASUS will lock the bootloader with upcoming releases, ART will not be replaced in the near future.

Instead of using this settings mod, it might be easier to use a module for xposed like this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2342570
I used something similar to Asus themes to edit settings theme, but the problem with this method that you cant edit everything with it, and many text colors hard coded in layout xml files which it cant be themed with RRO/Layers.
So for settings its better to make full apk and use it every update until Asus added new features to settings then you have to update it
And i tried to edit SystemUI and its hard compared to Samsung SystemUI or any AOSP SystemUI, Asus used .png and .9 files for pretty much everything in SystemUI Quick Settings which is ridiculous because if you added "Themes" to the ROM you should make easier to theme System apps to get more themes just like what Samsung did with S6 themes you can change everything in any stock app easily
That's my SystemUI theme

The same goes for xml editing. Even when I try to change one color for one text part, it ends up changing the color in someplace I don't want to to change.
Well i guess since CM12.1 has dark settings themes, this is moot now.

There must be a way to port CM themes to Stock. e.g. Dark Material, will try to contact app developer since I paid for that and we already exchanged many emails
CM has tons of bugs, can't stand it, I like more Asus's Framework and UI. Only changing the colors would be awesome. Asus can do that easily, you can join Asus Beta program to request anything, they also do phones and accessories drafts  :

I have been using CM for years and just realised how it lacked stock features, stability and compatibility.
At least, Asus responds pretty fast to any concerns [email protected]
Got my responses in under an hour from Asus while requesting a critical bug fix in CM for over 2 years did not give any result, mainly the unresponsive lockscreen bug that happens up to 8x a day. Guess what? It happened to my G2 since 2013 and still happened with my G3 last month and that is with the paid version of CM Updater LoL
I just feel shameful after gifting a phone with the latest cyanogenmod or installing it to a friend which kept telling me the phone is freezing in lockscreen.
Sure if you don't use your phone, you won't notice but I use it for everything, from University books, calls, VoIP, television, medical applications, car diagnostic to Office applications.
Imagine after writing a 2000 word text file, your device freezes or random reboots. I never had a single freeze or reboot with Stock ROM since this awesome phone was released except when using Amplify (Also delayed incoming calls and notifications) that I paid and removed soon after. Those are some of the reasons its better to stick with OEM ROM. Its the same story with modded Windows vs OEM Windows.
@aziz07
they can do that with themes but they have to edit some lines in settings and other stock apps also
they have to remove any hard coded color in layout xmls and relink any background color from framework to same app colors, like this
https://github.com/LayersTeam
In Galaxy S6 you can theme everything easily and they have also app to create themes for devs
But Asus did nothing they only implement RRO to the ROM and throw some themes in the store without working to make it better and easier for users to create themes
What happened to the dark menus screen shots in your post #6? Really liked that even more than monochrome dark material in cm.
Release it asap! Yalla xD
