Hi DerTeufel1980,
Running for 10 hours now, really nice build. I definitely like it.
WiFi, GPS, mobile data, calls etc all working as expected.
Deep sleep is fine! Highly customizable, smooth and stable!
Some minor glitches:
* while choosing a custom DPI (268) the button ring to answer a call is not centered, misaligned to the right
* in system settings > system > navigation bar > style and dimension > the height 30dp has a double entry but with 2 different values laid behind, maybe a typo (28, 32)?
For now 2 :thumbup:
Concerning the kernel>are there any plans to get some 'devil kernel goodness' for the Note, too? Not a complaint about the built-in kernel, just curiosity&the cat about your plans...
Thanks

how is the battery life for now ?

Battery life always depends on how you use your phone. Why don't you try the rom and see how it suits your individual use?

One phone, one ROM :thumbup:
I do not flash everything (certainly no TW tbh), but this one here got my attraction last night and I flashed it instantly
Without further regrets.
Battery life is decent for me, as the phone enters deep sleep well. Depends on the personal usage.

ok thanks guys, i'll flash tonight !!

This rom is without devil kernel. It's not possible to build a kernel without owning the device.

I don't have plans for CM10 ATM, I don't know if there will be an Unofficial CM10 Build or a custom Rom based on CM10, or both, or ...?
I only know there will be something in the next time, don't thought about a theme, but the Nova HD Rebuild Theme needs only minor changes to work correctly at CM10, so this shouldn't be a problem,

3 "must have" IMO !
Previously, I was on Benee #2, so just a wipe cache & dalvik, then flashed the rom and gapps.
Do you think you will have some time to do an inverted Contact/Calendar/Mms package ? (I don't eally like the white background).
Anyway, for an experimental build, it's a good one !!! Thank you !
Thanks
As I don't like the white background too, this will be the next I do,

One day with this rom and i'm satisfied.
The battery drain a lot, but I like this rom !
Everything is working well (UMS in particular !).
Do you think you could implement a transparent status bar (in option) ?
Cheers
Nice to hear you like my Build.
Yes unfortunately battery live isn`t as good in the moment, but remeber, it`s an experimental build, and I guess the rom works very well for this early stage, benee has done a very awesome job.
I don`t guess I`ll include an option for statusbar transparency in the next time. (but possibly a patch for a fix transparency).

I vote for a patch ! That's perfect :good:
Thanks !
I`ll take a look at the sources, I guess a patch can be made easily.
But it will take some time, atm I`m working for an update of my One-S CM10 Build, when it`s done, it`s easy to include the changes in my O2X CM10 Build.
I wil flash this rom tomorrow i am happy if developers have ics drivers and etc.

[DEV][JB] Unofficial Android Open Kang Project (AOKP) [03.11.2012]

Introduction - First of all, I'm doing this as a hobby. This is not my job, so, please, follow these simple rules:
* Don't ask for estimated time of arrival (ETA). I will release a new build when I feel it's ready. As soon as I'll have some news about progress or anything else
related to this project, I will post it here.
* Don't request any additional features. This is meant to be pure ROM from AOKP sources, so any 3rd party features will not be added.
* Don't report a bug if it's already reported. Report bugs here (click)!
* If you use my sources, add me in the credits and let me know of your project.
* Keep this thread clean, use talk topic for chat. Post only development related things here. (bug reports, suggestions, possible fixes etc)
Functions / features that are not fully working:
1) HQ video playback (need OpenMAX libraries from Qualcomm, unfortunately, they are not going to release them)
2) Native USB tethering
3) Native Wi-Fi tethering
People who made this possible:
* TheWhisp
* rohan007
* michie
* hrk
* erikcas
* tilal6991
* KonstaT
* AOKP team
Please contact me if I forgot you.
> AOKP build 1 ( 08/09/2012 ~ 6pm GMT+3 )
* Initial build, everything that works in CM10 is also working in this build. (except for Live Wallpapers)
> AOKP build 2 ( 23/09/2012 ~ 9pm GMT+3 )
* Includes almost all changes from previous CM builds
* Fixed some audio issues, but broke voice search.
> AOKP build 3 ( 29/09/2012 ~ 4pm GMT+3 )
* Some audio fixes (voice search working.. no "unknown strategy" etc) - thanks, KonstaT!
* Updated with latest AOKP sources, of course.
* GPS should work fine.
* Fixed video recording
> AOKP nightly ( 21/10/2012 ~ 5pm GMT+3 )
* Includes all device specific changes from CM10 builds
* Super light, ~ 95MB, system size ~150MB
> AOKP nightly ( 22/10/2012 ~ 5pm GMT+3 )
* Re-compiled with some apps that were missing in previous build (like SuperSU, LiveWallpapersPicker)
* Based on latest AOKP sources
> AOKP nightly ( 03/11/2012 ~ 9pm GMT+2 )
* New camera HAL (fixes settings and colors)
* Based on latest AOKP sources
Personally I think this release is faster than CM10 (for our device) I was running it at 600Mhz and it felt a lot faster than CM10 on 787Mhz.
There is a bug that you need to change all the volumes after clean install (or after wiping data), otherwise, sound will not work!
If you had signed in your Google account, and are upgrading from previous AOKP builds, it's recommended that you flash Google apps right after you have flashed the ROM! Otherwise you will have to sign in again.

Bugs: None
F.A.Q:
Q: What is this bionic that you speak of?
A: I'm going to let morfic answer this.
morfic said:
bionic is the "libc" of android, there are hardware optimized memcpy/memset and a few others for cortex-a9 and/or armv7-a, but also others specifically for krait, using those instead of stock bionic versions perform the same job a lot better than the more generic versions in aosp.
That affects memory throughput significantly and anything where you move data and need memory throughput using those functions will benefit from it.
there are other (math) functions that can be optimized more for the particular hardware
hope this helps

Q: Can you pleeeeeease put in theme chooser?? Please????
A: No. No. NO!
Q: Why not?!?!
A: Because this ROM is meant to be as close as stock as possible with none to minimal tweaks. If you want theme chooser, there are many wonderful ROMs out there that has it.
Q: Then can you add _________?
A: Depends on if I think it is necessary. Ask in this thread. I'll reply with my response and see if it is possible.
Q: What kernel should I use with this ROM?
A: Hmm, that's like saying what should I put on my salad. Seriously, it's all on your "taste". You own a nexus for crying out loud! There are so many wonderful devs in this nexus community. You have no idea how lucky you are. I came from a Motorola triumph. Man there were like 5 devs.. That's it. All of them are great and their kernels are as well.
Q: OMG!! I love your ROM blah blah. Where can I donate?
A: Please don't. I do this for the community. I do it for free. I'm too young to be accepting donations anyways. I'm glad you like and enjoy my ROM. If you like it, please press thanks as it's there for a reason and vote 5 stars for this thread That's all I want on return.

Running great so far! Thank you very much for a clean stock ROM.
Not bugs or anything, but I noticed under About phone it states Android 4.2, not Android 4.2.1. Also for some reason I have two Calendar apps (AOSP & Play Market Version). For gapps, I installed gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip.

Edit: Or maybe this is JOP40C/4.2?

Blazing fast build..... Well built! Not sure I can live long term work no customizations, but it is interesting to see pure AOSP stretch it's legs.

I'm considering adding the customizations in rasbean into here.. Like am/pm battery % navigation bar height and customization..I'm not sure though. I like it the way it is right now though. I never thought I would miss pure aosp this much. No offense to rascarlo.

Any chance of adding the h+ icons? I think that plus the cm battery would make this ROM perfect.

I'll second the navbar height and CM battery. I completely disable the navbar and just use gesture controls. It is your ROM though.
Does anyone know of a flashable zip to get rid of the navbar?

That affects memory throughput significantly and anything where you move data and need memory throughput using those functions will benefit from it.
there are other (math) functions that can be optimized more for the particular hardware

So I was reading some of the other posts, but I still wonder, how is GPS reception on this ROM? I was thinking of switching over to this ROM if the GPS is great, since I really need it on a daily basis.
But other than that, looks like a great ROM!
could someone post an antutu benchmark screenshot ??

[ROM][P75x0/p4wifi/p4][JB4.2]Carbon-Mackay (6-Aug)

I have been compiling InfamousAOKP as well as Paranoid Android for the galaxy tab (P7510/p4wifi & P7500/p4). Although I like the HALO feature of PA, I also found several features lacking in PA. Then I came across Carbon ROM:
http://goo.im/devs/carbon
They make a ROM based on AOSP, merging key features of CM, AOKP & PA. This, combined with Linaro used for ROM building, results in an impressive ROM -> high speed & versatility. I decided to port this ROM to our device as well.
Details 6-Aug release
Upstream source code of 5-August (including further improvements to HALO)
-> If coming from anything before the 11-July build, you have to reflash gapps!
Details 18-July release
Upstream source code of 18 July (including further improvements to HALO)
-> If coming from anything before the 11-July build, you have to reflash gapps!
Details 14-July release
Upstream source code of 14 July (including many improvements to HALO)
Build for both p4 & p4wifi
Latest Infamous 2.3 kernel
-> If coming from anything but the 11-July build, you have to reflash gapps!
Details 11-July release
Upstream source code of 11 July
-includes the important security patch of CM10.1.1
Infamous kernel 2.1:
-many updates to wifi & modem
This build will require a reflash of your gapps packages, normal backup/restore of gapps will work again from the next build!
Details 18-June beta release
Infamous 1.9 kernel:
-Fix fox l2_hsic problem
Improved wifi driver (from pershoot)
ROM:
-Update codebase 18-Jun
-HALO comes with a master switch so it can be disabled (default = disabled, so you have to activate it the first time booting)
-Small improvements to p4-common device tree (should make things smoother)
Details 12-June
-Source code 13/06/2013 (with Halo; you need to use PhabletUI to activate Halo, you can then switch to tabletUI)
-ROM build with Linaro 4.7 toolchain/O3, but kernel with 4.6 (to prevent reboot issues).
-Infamous kernel 1.7
Not extensively tested yet, so that is also why I added the alpha in the topic title!
I have only built this ROM for p4wifi/p4.
If you want to build it for another device, you can find the source code on my github:
Basis of CarbonROM code: https://github.com/CarbonDev
Necessary changes:

Infamous kernel:
https://github.com/InfamousAOKP/android_kernel_samsung_p4
Added some CM10.1 packages:
-cLock / LockClock
-DSPManager
First installation:
-Factory reset
-Wipe system partition
-Install ROM
-Install gapps (use the ones from the link below and not regular gapps)
-Boot it up

PA gapps:
http://goo.im/devs/paranoidandroid/roms/gapps
Just one note: the PA gapps are extremely fully packed. I have no interest in 50+% of the apps included, so I removed them before flashing from the zip file (on a Windows PC you can use e.g. 7zip to do that).

Wow... This will be the Rootbox for the tablet. Count with me to test. :good:
aokp + CM + PA is the best combination of features and I'm using for months on Galaxy Nexus (maguro).

Same codebase as p4wifi, which works fine on p4wifi, but I did not test this ROM on p4. So be prepared for the worst when installing this!

You can also use the gapps from the CM10.1 thread. The PA ones are simply more updated (and contain a better keyboard).

You have to go GoogleNow settings (once it starts, immediately hit the settings button (3 vertical dots) in the lower right corner and uncheck "Block offensive words" and other privacy-related checkboxes you might have there. Of course, you have to hit the settings button very quickly since you GNow shuts down fast upon open. The key here is that in order to stop GNow from foreclosing, you have to get to GNow settings.
Alternatively, use cLock settings (look for them in Android Settings) to add a settings button to the taskbar, and then start GNow and hit that newly-added Settings button, which acts as a normal application-related settings button once you open any app. Then proceed to changing the GNow settings that I mentioned above.
I like the ROM. Really.
It feels like mey Galaxy Nexus on PA linaro.
Only the Phablet interface was a little... slow, but normal Tablet interface works fine for me.
Keep it up
