On T-Mobile, are there network restrictions that prevent me from using my the data connection from my phone's micro SIM in my galaxy tab? I put it in and the browser will only go to the "My T-Mobile" page. Do they frown upon swapping SIM cards like they do tethering these days?

Hi, all,
I have a quick question:
I was in Smith, Nevada recently, using a G1 with a Tmobile SIM card, and the phone did not get service. However, the phone did say that there was an ATT network present, and my friend's phone got reception just fine. However, when I tried to manually switch to the ATT network on my phone, I got a message saying that the sim card does not allow me to register on the network. How can I make the phone register on the ATT network when there is no Tmobile service?
Thanks,
Tekgek
Allow roaming? Best answer I got.
You could buy a cheap pay as you go att phone and swap the sim in yours.
Errrm, I think roaming is enabled. Is there a hack or something that can override the sim card's programming?
Has anyone had problems with LTE tab s 8.4" sim card ?
the signal bars all the time are full as if there is sim card in the device. i tried inserting two nano sim cards with micro adapter it immediately asks to restart as Sim card detected..
I place sim card, restart and NOTHING !
same full bar signal all the time with/without sim. Still says no sim card inserted.
Device from singapore.
Now i know 8.4 LTE tab S is 3g/4g sim card compatible and sim cards work perfectly otherwise. i reset factory settings with no results !
going to mobile networks trying to chose networks also gives error of no network available.
ANy ideas/ Help !
thank you

I have the same thing as well when no simcard is inserted. Per understanding, the phone automatically logs on to any network so you could dial the emergency number (in your country)
Hey I for some unknown reason cant connect to my network whatsoever. No 3rd party roms nothing just the most recent Lolipop update. Sim card is in lock screen says emergency calls only. Network operators all options are greyed out. Here is the weird part. Under APN's it tells me there is no sim card when the screen loads, however when i eject the sim card and put it back in its not until i eject it that the rest of the phone recognizes there is no sim card. Did my sim card fry or what do you think?
Some answers found solo
so i pulled an app off play to check the info of my sim card and lo and behold there appears to be nothing on the card whatsoever. anyone have a suggestion for an app that is known to be current and working for this just in case its the app?

Simplest would be to go in store and ask another sim card just to test it. Looks like a bad sim card or maybe an hardware problem with the sim contacts
Hey Everyone i just picked this prepaid phone up at target it was a virgin mobile prepaid, i got it to replace my broken Sprint phone and i noticed that the sim card that came with the Virgin mobile phone is also sprint. so i just put my Sprint Sim Card in and i cant seem to get mobile data to work at all. i noticed when i go to the mobile data settings and select 4G settings it says HTC and not Sprint any ideas and there isnt an option to add a APN. i thought that since it comes with sprint sim card that i would just be able to use my sprint sim card, you know just plug and play and no luck. also i never activited that sim card through virgin mobile cause i didnt need it cause i have my sim card.
I've got my phone setup with a Fido (Canada) data SIM and MTN (Nigeria) SIM for roaming in the second slot. I am using a sim adapter so a 128gb Samsung memory card is also hooked in. For some reason the MTN roaming SIM will not receive calls, most callers to that SIM card are told the number isn't available. However, if I switch off the second data SIM, the First SIM will then be able to receive calls without any problems. I've taken out the sim adapter and memory card, but this still persists.
Has anyone experienced this before or know a way to fix this?

So the phone is not a dual-SIM phone, it is only with the "adapter"?
It is a dual SIM phone alright. These hybrid dual SIM can either take two SIM cards or one SIM card and a memory card. If you want all 3, then you need to use an adapter to achieve that.
