Does someone here know if internal sd card is a normal micro sd??? It can be replaced??
This is because the internal sd of my captivate is corupted, so i guess i need to replace it, so it is easy to do it???
Thanks in advance...
I've seen many posts here from people trying to flash a ROM to their external sd because the internal one was broken or inaccessible. I believe the internal is a soldered chip and not replaceable. So if yours is broken, you can't use that one but it is possible to use an external sd as system. Search xda should give pointers.

Hello, I am a new user of my galaxy i9000. I know that we can move the app to sd card after update to 2.2. However, when I do that, it seems the system only move the app to the internal SD card rather than the external one (I didn't find anything thing on the external SD card). Is it possible to move app to the external SD card instead?
Also, is there any link people can provide which explain how each folder is used under i9000?
Thanks!
+1 ! Same problem!
No one knows?
I use a 32GB class 10 micor SD. I tried to transfer the isntalled apps from phone to the external SD using "App 2 SD". I note that the apps were actually moved to the internal SD card but not the external SD. The photos and the video can be saved to the exteranl SD though.
I am new user of Android phones. Did I do anything wrong or app just can't be saved in external SD?
the internal sd is your external sd for app2sd.
earlier phones didnt have an internal sd. so there it was written on the external.
maybe you could reroute the paths. but for an normal user this could be hard.
So I think all phone with intwrnal SD Card has the same poblem.
Can the problem be solved when upgraded to 2.3?

Jup, all phones with an internal sd have this probs afaik.
but you can change the paths, so the external card becomes the internal.
i dont know how the paths are routed in gingerbread, but it should be tha same.
if you want to change this search in the dev section, there is a description.
Hi..I have 8gb i9000, my problem is, my phone is using 1.85gb as internal memory, and 5.64gb as (internal) sdcard, is there a way to give more memory to sdcard?
btw, I don't have an external sd card.
Thanks.
dont think so
Hello everybody
My SGS is semi-bricked, which means that my internal SD card is dead, but the system is still working.
I can make calls and send SMS, but anything that may use the internal sd card (Camera, Videos... ) is not accessible. It ask me to turn off the USB storage...
I searched a lot in the net -especially in this forum because it seems that there are many professional and expert members herein- and i found that
there are some methods to solve the problem of bricked phones with totally Dead Memory using an external SD.
Like my phone's memory is just corrupted, I wish to know if there is any possibility to format the internal card using PC,
create new partitions (FAT32 and EXT4) and install the rom. (I tried to format it with recovery and ClockworkMod, no result...).
Finally, I apologise for my English style, I'm not a native speaker
NB: When I connect the phone to PC, I can see the memory slot, but it's empty...It doesn't recognise the SD Card.
Search for a thread called dead internal sd solution or something like this. There is a way to format and repartition the sd over the PC. But I'm not completly sure how.

I have a chance to buy a used Samsung Galaxy Tab at a great price, but there is a problem with the internal memory. It has been rooted and right now it is operating on CM10 Nightlies from the SD card. The internal memory partition is recognized but can't be accessed. Is there any chance the internal memory can be recovered?
since the previous owner went a great length to get it working with only external sd, I think likely the internal memory is beyond help. You can ask him how far did he go trying to fix it.

Thanks for the reply. The previous owner said he never tried any fixes.
I might have mistaken your initial info as saying you have the whole ROM installed on external sd card.
If it is just the internal sd card not showing, you could try to format the internal sd card from cwm and see what happens.

Sorry, I was unclear. The whole ROM IS installed on the external SD card. There's no problem running the ROM from the SD card and no problem with the SD card itself. It's the Galaxy Tab internal memory that is bad. The internal memory is recognized but cannot be accessed. I guess I'm wondering if the internal memory can be reformatted and fixed.
I bought it for next to nothing, so even if I can only use the ROM from the SD card, its not a big deal.
