I was messing twith the framwork-res.apk to change the lock screen pictures and renamed the file and that is when it all happened.

You should be able to make a fastboot cable and then from your computer push an unedited version of that file...
Or simply use the restore tool in the dev section and go back to stock

HTC Flash ROM Restore? Help please!

Alright, so I just bought a Fuze on craigslist and it has a cooked rom on it and has deleted some software that I actually want- So the bottom line is I want to go back to the very original out of the box settings for at&t. Also, I did not get the data cable that came with the phone so I am just using a regular mini USB cable I got from frys. The problem is that when I run the windows mobile software on my computer, my computer can't connect to the device- does it have to be the cable that comes with the phone? Can having a rom that is flashed be messing me up? I'm really frustrated and would appreciate any and all feedback.
Thanks!

To answer about the Mini USB cable, if its the 5 pin USB (same that used for most digital cameras) then that one works fine, without the adapter that comes with the phone, you wont be able to get headphones connected.
As for the OEM rom, I found it on here before, and I will try and find a link for you.
Edit: here is the link for the OEM rom (Latest) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=439346

[Q] [HELP] Rooted my NC, now my HTC G2 doesnt work...

This is kind of a mixed forum question....
but I managed to get my NC up and rooted (awesome job btw, totally rocks ), and now my HTC G2 isnt being registered by my PC when i plug it in for charging. They use the same cable so I usually just swap them out.
Any ideas? Its still charging, and I tried different usb ports and uninstalling the device profiles in DevManager... but still no dice.
Any help will be appreciated~
The nooncolor has a slightly different cable... try using the original cable from the G2

Im using a regular B/W nook cable, which doesnt have the different prong type in it, its just a regular Micro SD cable like the G2 and other phones use... but still no luck. My computer keeps treating it like an Unknown Device and i think its trying to use the adb-usb driver that i had to use for the NC
So ive gotten a little further and realized that Windows is assigned the wrong driver to the phone. Is there anyway to figure out what the old driver was or where the base one is for Windows? It keeps defaulting to the adb-usb driver and thats whats causing the issue~
Shouldn't you have the option to rollback the driver to a previous one in windows?

The B&N Nook Color cable is not normal.
Just download pdanet for android to your computer. It will find and install the appropriate drivers.
Okay... so I tried all of that. I mean, Im not a novice, but Im not an uber-pro either. From what I can tell, when I use the micro SD (non-adapted) usb cable and plug it into a HUB, the computer kinda sees my phone, but doesnt actually know how to properly load it and says "Cannot install correct driver"
But when I plug the usb directly into a slot on th MoBo or front port, it just doesnt see it at all and gives it power to charge.
SearEuslee, WTF!? (heh, sorry couldnt resist trying that)
Anyways, any help is most appreciated :C I really want to root my phone, but cant when the computer doesnt see it anymore....

[Q] Bricked?

I am just trying to figure out if I totally bricked my phone or not. I can only get in to download mode using the removed battery and usb cable trick. Odin sometimes starts to work and then other times it fails at file recognition. my Windows 7 64 bit laptop recognized it only sometimes, mostly device unrecognized. My Windows 7 64 desktop never recognized it (front or back ports).
Can one think of a trick to reboot the system that I have not tried?
I cannot get anything other than a blank screen or download mode.
I don't have a different USB cable to try, but I think I will buy one since my factory one has small bit of damage to it.
I have tried drivers from Samsung and from a few different
These are very hard to brick, so I kinda doubt that you have. At least not to the point that it cannot be fixed
I bricked my captivate yesterday and was having similar issues that you were. There are two things I recommend trying..
1) Use a different USB cable, NOT the one that came with the phone. I tried 4 times to use Odin3 to restore using the Samsung cable and it failed every time. I pulled out a Motorola cable that I had laying around and it worked perfectly.
2) Make sure that you are using the Samsung drivers and not the ones that Windows 7 installs automatically. You can find the correct drivers on this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989
Let me know if that helps you at all.
If you had it come stock with eclair (2.1) then use designgears odin one click to stock. Then reinstall drivers from that thread it can be found in dev section...!!!! ONLY USE IF CAME STOCK WITH ECLAIR!!!!

Yep it was the USB cable. I bought a cable from Radio Shack worked by the 3rd try. Thanks!!!
I had tried for 6 hours with the old cable and got nowhere.

"USB device not recognized" - worked fine yesterday [SOLVED]

When I tired connecting my HTC vivid to my computer through the recovery's 'enable MS-USB' option, my computer (Windows 7 64-bit) states that is does not recognize the device (I get the list of ports, and can see the "unkown device"). I've plugged it in multiple times, but it still doesn't recognize it. Fastboot doesn't seem to recognize the device either (using "fastboot devices -s" displays nothing.
The cable seems to work fine, as it connects my LG rumor touch to my PC just fine and I can see all of its SD card contents.
I was having issues getting my vivid connected and charging before, so I'm thinking it might be the charge port. Any agreements, advice, or other suggestions?

UPDATE!!!
----------------
Just got my new charge port in today, and I can say without a doubt that my problem was the charge port! Popped the new one in (I almost laughed at how easy it was compared to replacing a cracked digitizer), and right away I noticed that the new port sort of... kept the cable plugged in better. It started charging instantly as opposed to the game of getting it to sit just right, and my computer immediately started to install drivers.
Hooray! Now I can fastboot again! And actually transfer files from my computer to my phone easily! And actually charge the damn thing without feeling like I'm trying to find its g-spot.
I recall getting something similar to that quite a while ago (I think it was back on CM10.1, so this was a LONG time ago ) where my computer (Win 7 Home Premium 64bit) wouldn't recognize my Raider when I connected it via the USB charge/transfer cable that came with it. And also like you, fastboot was not recognizing my phone either.
I think what I did then was restart my PC as I figured that perhaps it was failing to load the drivers upon that boot. And after my PC restarted and everything was stable again, I connected my phone to it and it understood it with no issues. Hasn't happened to me since.
Also, what recovery are you using? I use TWRP 2.6.3.0 and I've never had any issues with it.
I'm using CWM made for wcx, but cannot remember the version number. Unfortunately restarting my PC hasn't fixed the issue for me, nor did booting into another OS.

If you are going to insist on using CWM... Make sure you have an RUU handy for when it breaks your phone...
It WILL happen...

Unless I'm mistaken, an ruu wouldn't help me, as my PC does not recognize the phone at all, no matter how I attempt to make them communicate.
Also, I've never heard or read about cwm recovery screwing up or ruining anyone's phone. I got the impression it was one of the most stable recoveries.

OK, now that I have flash image GUI, i 'll try twrp and see of that fixes my issue. I did find out that my micro USB chargers don't seem to charge the phone anymore, only hooking up to my computer charges it.

As lame as this sounds, I find that when I get this error message, it is not driver-related.. it's USB port related. My front USB ports do this to me sometimes, so I have to reach to the back and plug in to one of those... that usually does the trick.
So far, didn't matter what USB port I use. Also reinstalled windows (had to do it anyway) and no change. I'll try it in my gfs computer tonight.

Fire HD 7 will not connect to pc

I know this is the same post but I put it in the wrong section.
I have a Kindle fire HD 7 inch, and I am trying to install CM11 on it but I can't connect it to my PC. When I connect it, it starts charging, but it won't appear on my PC. I tried installing the ADB drivers but it did not work. I also factory reset it, but it still won't connect. Is this the cause of loose solder joints or some other software issue?
This thread actually should be in the 7 inch section
You need to enable adb on the device
Still not connecting
Even after enabling ADB, my Kindle Fire HD still won't connect to my pc
Try another pc
Nope
Still does not appear. Kindle charges fine but could this be a pin problem?
I suppose. It's hard to tell. Try another download of the drivers?
I did download drivers twice

I had run the driver installer twice but this did not make the KFHD visible. I'm not sure if this is a pin problem or a software problem. I'm thinking it is not the pins because the KFHD charges still.
Again, try a new download. Did you get a message saying the drivers installed properly?

Yes, I have but there is no difference.
Then I second your idea that a pin might be busted. You seem to have ruled out everything else.
Then why is it charging
I know it is a broken pin, but why is the Kindle charging?
Most likely only the data pin(s) are damaged. The outer two pins I believe are the ones that handle voltage and ground.
Then I will fix it
I will open the Kindle and attempt to fix the problem. Thanks for your port information.
