Amazon all the way. Look for the reseller called cellphonerepairshop.
Sent from my MotoAHD Maxx

^ This. Cellphonerepairshop is in Glendale, California. They sell on eBay and through Amazon. Amazon protects us very well on purchases from their marketplace, so I wouldn't think twice about it.

Its the ony way

Buy nook color

Does anybody know where I can buy a nook color in the uk I have tried to look but cant find any thing.
I then came across a advent vega but cant get one of them either, I'm desperate to get an android pad that will run 2.2 so I get flash support but they dont seem to be anywhere.
I did then see a commtiva tab but I dont think the hardware of the commtiva is as good.
Could anybody help me out here as to what I could get ite where to get in the uk.
The only one I could actually get hold of was the commtiva but I dont know how good it is really compared to the advent or nook but I cant go above £300 to be honest.
Would love your help and advice

I can mail you one from the states for 400 USD via paypal.
I am in france, order it from amazon last week, still not here yet, I guess I also need pay tax for that, which sucks.
I am also still waiting to see if it will be available in UK soon so i can order it from there..
I've got mine from digitech.ch, switzerland.

update:my NC send in today, strangly no extra tax....
i have one i'm willing to sell.
I'm not too impressed with it. seems to be way underpowered for a "tablet". maybe its not even underpowered, and if not, the rom needs to be tweaked.
3 days old so far. let me know if you want it, if not its going back to b&n soon.
300usd + whatever to ship?
I got mine in sweden via my dad in the us, took ages via usps though!
Sent from my LogicPD Zoom2 (nook color) using XDA App
I would consider buying one and sending it out. I only want to do one or two just as a pay it forward kind of thing, as a thanks to XDA. I'll do it for cost plus shipping. Of coarse I would want prepayment upfront. I also will only do it for someone who has been a member for awhile and also has a good number of posts.
Keep in mind, build quality isn't great with these things if you want an unopened one. I can open it and make sure their are not any dead pixels and nothing horrible is wrong with it.

How to buy in US?

Hi guys, first, sorry that I'm asking that here, but I think you the people who can help me with that.
A friend of mine is going to US for some vacations, and she offered to buy for me a phone or tablet, since I live in Brazil and a decent tablet cost something near of a kidney in these parts (GNex in Brazil costs something near $1000). So I'm in doubt between buying a GNex or a Nexus7. Anyway, to buy either I need a credit card with an US address.
My question is: is there some kind of temporary credit card so I can buy it from the play store and ask to deliver in the place my friend is staying? If so, what's the name of this service in the US? If you have any suggestions, please say so =D
Also, what would you get: GNex or Nexus7?

Buying the XZ

As you might have seen me crawling around this forum, I'm seriously thinking about buying the z. As for credit check issues I can't get a contract so I'm going to buy it sim free.
Tbh it's my first time buying a sim free phone. So it would be nice if someone could give me some advice on where to get the device. I live in the UK (Nottingham) btw.
I've been thinking about buying it on eBay, has anyone bought it that way? Any risks or advice you can give me if I buy it that way.
Thanks in advance.

Ebay is ok but make sure it's a reputable seller and it's not imported (to avoid warranty issues)
Ideally buy the device unlocked - if you can.
Retailer wise, Expansys (owned by Dragon Peter Jones and based in Marlow, Bucks.) is a good retailer but at full retail the device is £519 - ebay 'unwanted upgrades' go for £370 or so.
I've just bought mine from someone local to me, and insisted on seeing it working with my choice of network. As it happens, he couldn't show this due to a handset fault so i've made him RMA the phone to Sony before i send any money. Just be careful if you're new to eBay.
Tesco Mobile offer the XZ so you can goto a Tesco Extra store to see one in person to have a play before buying - if needed.
Good luck and just make sure you're confident with the sellers reputation on ebay before buying

Here you go:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2117909
I see, is there any risk with sealed units on ebay? I'm orange pay as you go.
Also if I get it from someone as an unwanted upgrade from Orange is there a high risk that the company blocks the device if he doesn't pay the contract or is it quite dangerous for someone to do that? Also what happens to the warranty when I buy it like this do I need anything from the seller in case I need to rma?
Thanks

If you worry about all of those things then I'd recommend buying it from a real shop.
But most of the times when you buy it from someone with a very high rating, you won't have any trouble/problems, not even when it comes to warranty. If the phone breaks the chance is very big that you have to pay either way, it won't matter if you bought it from a shop or a reseller.
You are right, so now the thing is to pick the right seller. So I should pick people with 500+ ratting then?
edit: Also you said something about the phone not being imported? so should I ask the seller about that? It needs to be from the UK or europe?

Just make sure its a uk seller with a decent amount of positive feedback. Avoid anyone with zero.
see: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/ebay-protection

for info

Uhm I don't think that matters.
I'm not sure which version you need in the UK, I think C6603, as long as the version is ok, there shouldn't be a problem where it from since it's an international phone.
People from the states also buy the phone imported because it's not being sold in North America (Not by carrier that is)
And no 500 rating is way to low imo.
This is a good rating
Link
(Not saying that you should buy that one, but just giving an example of a good rating.)
P.S. Please remember that when importing a phone you will have to pay VAT once your package has arrived.
I think you had to pay VAT when the device is from beyond Europe, but not when it's being send from another European country (Could be wrong on this one though).

Don't limit yourself to Ebay. I am selling a XZ on Gumtree because there are no charges and you get to deal with the person face to face. I am sure there are lots of things to be wary of. I don't buy or sell many things so I am not aware of all the pitfalls, though I am sure there are some.
Get more advice from other people if you are thinking of buying from Gumtree, but from what I have seen, (through watching my son-in-law), you show the buyer the item, the buyer gets to see it first hand, and they decide whether to hand over pound notes for it. If the seller seems genuine and the phone is as described, fair enough. If you don't feel right go with your instincts and run.
I personally am very wary of Ebay, but lets be honest, if everyone had a bad experience it wouldn't still exist.
phones 4u are cheap and unlocked
Dont buy it.. Screen is ugly and gets alot of dust also the buttons are very annoying. You have to remove the protectors each time to connect to power and headphone..:good:
Phone is amazing buttons are fine and use the dock and bluetooth then no need to remove flaps

Thanks but if you buy from eBay PayPal feels more secure if something goes wrong but I'll check that site just in case.

I bought mine from 3 mobile for £450 and they unlocked it for £15 although I do not believe they charged me lol.
I wouldn't buy a phone anywhere but a real shop to be fair, although the Z seems pretty robust and I doubt there will be too much to worry about regarding repairing it.

Ebay are biased towards the buyer. If you get no refund from a seller within 14 days, ebay will give you your money back due to distance selling regulations.
Only issue i've encountered with the phone unlocked, is that with every wipe of the phone with SEUS , I have to add the orange APN for internet access. That's easy though.

Looking for Back cover for Atrix HD

I broke :crying: the back over of my beloved Atrix HD and looking to see if anyone has a spare back cover.
Will throw in shipping to cover if you have one...
You can easily find replacements.
Search for 'mb886 battery door cover' on ebay as well as on google to find various sources.
They all range between $15-$25.

Can I Buy This Phone İn Any Shop?

I live in Turkey, but ı want to buy this phone.I cant buy this phone in site,so can ı buy in any operators(AT&T,T-Mobile etc.) shop? And how is cost?
According to this:
http://www.worldtimezone.com/4g.html
3G is 2100 mhz, and no LTE yet
According to this
http://ltemaps.org/home/country/turkey
4G should be bands 3 and 7
Then according to this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moto_X_(2nd_generation)
XT1092, XT1095, XT1096, XT1097 have those bands
So i think you're good to go with any of these models, but i'm no expert, you should wait for someone else to confirm.
You can actually get the phone from ebay easily.
İ cant understand you.sorry, just say "can i buy this phone on foot" and how much is it cost? İ wanna mean no pure edition,i want to buy normal color

I understand English just fine. What I don't understand is how in this day and age, everybody still needs someone to hold their hand for simple crap such as doing a Google search to find out the of contract price of the Moto X. I just Googled it, and had no problem finding numerous retailers and prices for it. If I can do it, you should be able to as well.

You're probably not going to have an easy time finding one in a brick and mortar store that'll be unlocked and able to be used on your provider in Turkey. Why can't you buy it online? There's gotta be some other retailers that will ship it to you.

Also, realize in the US cheap phone prices ($99) are offered as part of a 2-year contract with the mobile companies. You will only get that price if you agree to stay on their service for 2 years. The most basic phone price (16 GB and standard back) will be $499. If Motorola won't ship, I would try Amazon.

$499 for the most basic phone. I'm not aware of the unlocked version being available off the shelf in any store. You could try Best Buy, but I doubt they will have them.
