The "I" ace is DIFFERENT !!!
So talk with admin to make your own forum because that's why people screw them phones ...
Your phone is different so leave S5830 DEV forum.
Sorry 4 beign an ass but it's better for you and your device.

The s5830i is the budget version of the s5830 and it has a weird rom on it but it doesn't have custom compatibilitys

You made me think if you can understand your own post.
You said that S5830i is the budget version of S5830.
But S5830 is already a budget phone.
So how can it be a budget version of a budget phone???

It's fairly obvious that when I said "it's a budget version of the s5830" that even cheaper parts were used to make the thing.... any other person with some intelligence would most probably understand that.. if not then I apologize for my miss leading saying from before.. jeez

It won't happen. Due to cheap parts its unable to run ICS.

Its the same price as the original Ace and Samsung calls it an "Upgraded version"
Anyway, now Galaxy Y has a CM9 port which is booting.
So there are chances for the Ace i users to taste ICS.

Well Samsung can obviously lie n call it an upgraded version.. it's simple sales skills... and yeah sure they may be the same price but I have been on both phones n to be fair the s5830i was just simply **** compared to the original n the stats also make It so... so **** u

p.s CyanogenMod team trying copy ui from ubuntu rumors...

Come on... How anyone could possible know that? And then, it will be the same with CM. It is needed to make a ROM compatible with our P970.

Is it possible for an ubuntu for android port for Samsung galaxy ace? I would really like to try it out.

It's not fully finished os. We cannot port it or build from source unless its finished. They have test builds for galaxy nexus and they say it lags a little but on ace it will lag as hell so wait until its finished.

In ubuntu website, they emphasize on dual core phones. It would be one heck of a task. I think they will release sources soon enough. A stable android rom themed and modded like ubuntu would be nice though.

I'd say it will be similar as CM10.1

It will probably be like ICS it will be a pain to port. And I don't think that our system storage will fot all those amazing features.

Ubuntu Phone image availability

Hey!
We're preparing an image for Ubuntu for Phones and it should be available towards the end of February. You can keep up to date by joining our irc channel #ubuntu-phone on Freenode IRC or by madly pressing F5 on the Ubuntu Wiki page (http://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuPhone) which is called UbuntuPhone over the next two months

Nexus and HTC aren't mutually exclusive brands, but yes Canonical said the initial images will be for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I'm sure there will be unofficial ports as well.

An unlockable bootloader Intel Atom based phone (Motorola RAZR i) would also be a great project. I noticed in the information it says that Intel Atoms can run the higher-end Ubuntu Phone OS. I am imagining the possibilities here of x86 Ubuntu Phone

Hey guys I would like for someone, expecially a developer preferably of our device to give me the name of the device or devices closest in similarity to ours for developmental reasons. I think but I'm not positive that the desire HD is pretty close. I know or I think lol that we've had a couple ports from that device. Does anyone know any device closer?

I think Galaxy S is not most similar device .....
HTC desire HD was selected for porting because it has same System on Chip i.e. Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM 8255 .....
So, all devices which are built on MSM 8255, they are much closer to our device ....
