Hi
All the specs i se say that the Razr I has a 32gb limit for microc SD cards - a few people here have said (in passing) they have 64gb cards. So I was wondering whjat people have got working - the price of 64gb card in the UK is getting around the £35 - £25 was my "Buy pint" for the 32gb I have - doubling that would be cool.
Eserim
I use a 64GB microSD class 10 card on my RAZR i. It doesn't use all of the storage, just about 53+GB but it still works fine.

There is a post in the accessories forum with other 64gb users.
I have 59GB usable with my Sandisk which is the same model listed above.
'Sandisk Ultra 64GB Class 10 Micro SD Card with SD Adapter - FFP'
53gb seems like a big loss? Maybe the cluster size you chose wasn't the best choice?
The 32 limit is to do with windows by default will not make a fat32 partition bigger than 32gb so just use a 3rd party partition tool to make it 64gb.
I use the one from www.partitionwizard.com
Also don't format to exfat as the phone won't read it.

i know that galaxy note support microSD, up to 32GB.
but my question is does galaxy note also support MicroSDHC?
can anyone please tell me
thanks in advance
32GB of micro SD is HC. microSDHC is between 4-32GB
Galaxy Note even supports Micro SDXC - 64gb.
according to NZtechfreak , after format his Sandisk 64GB micro SDXC card to FAT32 then it will work perfectly fine with the galaxy note
ps more detail is here http://www.androidnz.net/2011/09/sandisk-64gb-micro-sdxc-cards-confirmed.html
and from the main topic question : yes its support microSDHC
ps ( a bit more ) :i cant seem to find anywhere that got 64gb one in stock in UK
mobymemory.co.uk has it in stock around £100

confirmed, i have one which makes my note a beast: 32GB internal plus the 64GB sdxc makes a total of 96GB... not bad for a "phone"!
Works fine with my 64gb sdxc too.

Yes, but how is it formatted FAT32 or ExFAT? Only ExFat supports files over 4GB.
I don't think that Samsung provided the ExFat driver in their kernel (it's not free).
Not samsung kernel but abyys kernel support ntfs read/write. I'm using now ntfs formatted 32gb class 10 Samsung micro sdhc card in my galaxy note without a problem. I can totally copy and watch 10gb hd movie with mx player.u can find abyys kernel in this forum.
Running 64 gig everything fine ,put card straight into phone then press format thats it. here is speeds

Good info here. Thanks.
Well now most micro sd cards are HC. they se even further classified into classes. Cards with most read write speed nowdays are class 10. Though i am using a class 4 card but it us working fine.

What size sd card should I get? Would 2gb be fine?
If you're gonna be installing a lot of software you should probably go with 4+. I believe 2 is sufficient if you have it on hand
Thanks

Yes I just got a sandisk 16GB Extreme Class 10 45MBPS for 17.00 prime free shipping
Also RPi has a micro SD card adapter, so I am using my old micro SD card from old phone. They are available at adafruit.com or ModMyPi.com. they are cheaper at adafruit.com

The minimum size SD card I would recommend is 8 GB, also check out this list of SD cards that are known to work well with the RPi and this list of SD cards to avoid and that are known to cause problems and not work.
I think 16Gb 10class SD card is best of speed*size/price.
I looking on sandisk extreme 8GB. But I've read that rpi with some kernels have boot problems with some really fast cards.
Sent from my LG-SU660 using xda premium
I you are pretending to really use the rPi as a "real computer" everyday, install softwares, development kits, etc I would recommend a 8GB or more SD card, they are not expensive(as a guy said, a 32GB card will cost less than 30 bucks in USA. This is difficult here in Brazil, today I bought a 8GB MicroSD card for 30 dollars). If you want to use the rPi for small things, Chrome OS or something like that I think that a 4GB card will be fine.
I Picked myself up a couple of these at the start of this year, Class 10's and on the known Good List and only 20GBP at the moment, which is a bargain. Now all I need a RaspPi to go with it

You can be happy getting the 512MB version then, so waiting isn't that bad.
OT: 4GB ist enough for almost everything, but then its recommended to mount /home onto an external drive for storing user data.

I've seen many reports of that 64gb works just fine. Same with other models as well.
It's just that samsung doesn't test full functionallity with bigger sd than 32gb.
Like for SGSII, Samusng IS stating it supports up to 32GB but I'm using Sandisk Ultra Micro SD SDXC UHS-I 64GB on mine, though I never tried it on SGSIII Mini. I mounted old 8GB class 6 there as my wife does not need more and it was just collecting dust. I could swap for a quicky test, but it's not going to tell you anything re stability etc, just if it mounts or not. I don't want to do it as my wife is using her phone all the time and I really can't see the point in taking it over for the day and waiting ... for something/anything.
Mind you - Sandisk Ultra Micro SD SDXC UHS-I 64GB can be really defective and I trust I was very lucky to get a good one.
The 64GB card's working just fine in my phone, "internal SD-external SD swap" script and all.
Thanks
Great, thanks everyone!

Only used SanDisk so can't really comment on the others. In my experience they are pretty good, budget-wise you might be better off with a Transcend or something though.

I have a corrupted new 64 GB Sandisk Ultra Class 10.
My advice is make a full search here in General and Q&A threads about SD Cards before buying, because a great number of Xperia users are unhappy with their incompatible / corrupted SD Cards, especially the SanDisk ones.
Definitely Sandisk (the ultra)I use them in all xperias, no issue so far altought I don't use the 64Go it's too big for my use, 32Go is enough.
http://www.myshopping.com.au/ZM--12...IA_Type_HD_32GB_microSDHC_UHS_I_Card_Class_10
Based on my experience, here is the rank I suggest:
1) Sandisk 2) Toshiba 3) Kingston 4) Transcend
...and I also strongly suggest, only choose between Sandisk and Toshiba.
Am currently using a Sandisk 64GB on my Z for media like songs and videos, which I carried along from my Note (my very first android; then followed by Ion / V / TX) since day one, and a 32GB one for Titanium's and NAND backups. Both never encounter any problem... so far.
thanks guys for the helpful comments....i will buy a sandisk 32 Gb...

Put it straight in the phone and it will do it all for you.
When I bought my Sandisk 32GB and 64GB, both were formated with FAT32 out of the box.
Problem with FAT32 is that it won't support over 4GB a file.
If you have no intention to put over 4GB a file (like video) onto the card, you can just leave it as is and use it right away without doing anything.
If you're planning to put over 4GB a file onto the card, format it with exFAT with you computer by using a card adapter. XZ can read exFAT natively since 4.2.2.
You can also format your card with NTFS. Like exFAT, it also supports over 4GB a file. However, XZ can't read this file system thus you need to root and install a third party app like "Paragon exFAT, NTFS & HFS+" in order to read.
My suggestion is, use exFAT, since it's more versatile, and is natively supported.

Yeah, if you can swing it, make sure to get one that is minimum of UHS1 (which is equal to or better than Class 10). The IO pathways appear to be _MUCH_ better on this model. If it can swing USB3, it can handle the IO throughput of a higher rated card. I would imagine with a better kernel we might eventually be able to handle larger SD and Micro SD cards.

The TF700 can so I suppose the TF701 will support it also.
you can install the application on the sd card with android 4.3 version. thank you
I feel stupid posting to a thread that's 4+ yrs old but I need to know. Does the dock have issues reading a micro SD Card with adapter? I bought this device last year used. All is good except I prefer to watch movies from the dock SD card port. The card goes it great and a firm push it clicks into place, but no response from the device. Does not show up in ASUS File Manager app. Completely stock and locked bootloader running v4.4.2 and 11.4.1.29 with DEC 18 2014 kernel. Every thing else on dock works well except for the wobble. I cut two pieces of credit card like strips to tighten the fit and it work well. My micro SD Card w/ adapter is good and works fine in my Win7 PC. That's how I put movies/music on the card. Card and adapter are SanDisk micro SD XC I Ultra Plus .
