[Q] n7000 PARANOIDANDROID 2.99 betaNINE.9+ 4b and inverted gtalk - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently installed n7000 PARANOIDANDROID 2.99 betaNINE.9+ 4b, while waiting for samsung multi window rom.
My last rom was paranoid 2.51 with notecore->hydracore oc kernel.
I dont have 10 posts so I can't write in original android development but I have few questions.
1. long time ago I flashed inverted gapps but after few updates I could not find good release where inverted gtalk is working, I tried to theme gtalk with paranoid colour setting but gtalk has white background what ever I try (with phone reboot)
2. I liked hydracore oc kernel... should I flash [PhilZ-cwm6][n7000] v4.00-b39 Safe Stock Kernel+CWM6+Root-XXLSC or some other kernel?
Best Regards

[Q] What's the best, most stable, less buggy ICS ROM for i9000?

What are you using and which kernel are you using it with?
Hi!
I've used almost all ICS roms and I think "CodeNameAndroid" and "Nexus S Port by EliteV9"(the base of my rom) are the best ones in this moment
I'd recommend Slim ICS, really good rom, quick and good battery life. I'm using it with Semaphore 0.9.7b, everything seems to work pretty well. Currently in the process of trying different modems for it, trying to get a better gps fix.
Nexus S Port by EliteV9.1
I am using the MIUI-2.3.33 from lucainno
With 3.1.10 IcyGlitch Kernel. But it really needs much energy...
best rom
I think , IMM76D ELITE V 9.1 WITH DEVIL 2_0.62 KERNAL........is the best conf. u ever get till now...............devil kernel was just awsome.....402MB ram...............just go with these confi.
I have try the Elite v9 it is a really good rom.
But now that CodeNameAndroid would be based on ICS 4.0.4 I will try it to
Usually I use the semaphore kernel but it is a personal preference.
I am very happy with my Cyanogenmod 9 AOSP nightly builds.
I am using the latest nightly buid (2012-04-02)
And i am really pleased with the performance!
Installation was done with CWM and easy as pie!
My fav is AOKP build 28 with devil2_0.62 kernel.
most stable rom
flash IMM76D ELITE V9.1 with DEVIL KERNAL 2_0.62.........390MB RAM..............................the best combination so far..............n stable
Elite 9.1, 4.0.4 aosp based, without any doubt.
Best Rom
Here ELite`s v9.1 4.04 with Kernel Devil 0.6.2
WOrks like a charm!!

can someone who used slim v3.1 with semaphore .9.8sbm please compare with elite v9.1 rom?is it better than slim 4.0.4 version?
also does devil kernel 402 mb version break HD playback and other formats?semaphore .9.8sbm only breaks 720p recording.playback and everything else just fine.
best one : INFINITUM-v1.1.0 with glitch kernel
Elite 9.1 and devil2 0.64. So far so fast and stable with as good battery life as darkyrom GB.
Tried dark knight 4, lots of minor lag and fc here and there.
I'm quite happy with Team ICSSGS http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398223 and RC4.2. Have been using it for some time now and so far didn't discover any deal breakers.

Am happy with Team ICSSGS R4.2 at the moment (with Semaphore 1.0.0s)... Stable with decent performance...
They are working on R5 so, expect that to be awesome as well...
EXTRAordinary_4.0.4_beta9
Among all ICS ROM I have tested (which is many about 1234 ) this one is one of better but of course with other kernel ( midnight ICS 0.90-2 - faster and more stable).Battery life is great almost two days.Only one problem I can`t solve ,I try to fix Google Store but still have problem (Update for Google play could not be downloaded due an error 940 ) . Any help ?.....For now this is the best ICS ROM...i think...
Tiramisù 1.7 and Midnight 0.9.0-2 Hugeram

You can try CM10, it's OK for daily use. Has minor bugs but nothing serious.
It's a little early for JB, give it some time to get stable.
ICS have come a long way and is now amazing for daily use. You can try here: https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum...wich-4-0-4-in-samsung-galaxy-s-g-t-i9000.125/
CM 10 is working great but for a simple, stable ROM I would recommend that you give slim ICS a go. I never had a problem with it, from 3.9 to 4.2.
I'm using GNex Beta 6.1 (JB) and coming from TiramiSlim 2.0 (ICS) which are blazing fast ROMs .
Loved the easy installation of TiramiSlim with the Aroma installer
But give JB a try, daily juse can be recommended

For ICS, I recommend cm9 blueberry.
I'm on ICS333 2.0.1 by Team 3xtr3m3 with Semaphore 1.3.0 and i love it. Give it a try. He is also working on a JB Version.

I've been using CM9 for a while but with time it ended up lagging a lot. A switched to SlimICS with Semaphore kernel a few weeks ago and I'm impressed. It's fast and doesn't have bugs (at least in my experience). Absolutely recommended and looking forward to switch to SlimBean as soon as it gets stable for daily use.
Best ICS for Galaxy S
i am a amature with softwares but very much addicted in changing the ROM in my Galaxy S . i switched to custom ROMS in GB itself (Can't wait till the updates from samsung)
I tried various ICS but ended up in somany lags mainly losing my IMEI (which made me sleepless many nights)
Finally now am with Team 3xtr3m3 IMM76L ICS333 2.0.1 & kernel 3.0.8 Semaphore_ICS_1.2.2s. for the past 2-3 months.
am controlling my urge to switch to JB.
am expecting Team 3xtr3m3 JB
Thanks to Team 3xtr3m3 as am enjoying my Galaxy S:good:
I would recommend you to download the newest build of CM9 Nightly, or CM9 RC2 and stay with it some more time. I've been using it for a very long time and I had no problems. Currently I'm using CM10 and I can only say that it's not stable at all yet. You shold wait a while for JB
Thanks, i'm using CM9 now and no bugs! But i'm interested in the TiramiSlim rom.
Is it fast and is it more stable than CM9?
I have no comparison with CM9. I've been using TiramiSlim v.2.0 for a month and I don't complain. Installation is very easy, you may choose what do you want. Compared to GB I can use my SGS longer without a reboot.
Could you give me instructions how to install tiramislim?
In TiramiSlim thread is instruction of installation. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1664049
From SD card, using CWM I installed this ROM. Sometimes you may have problems, e.g. with camera. So install ROM again. Reinstall often solves this problem.
Good luck!
I can absolutely recommend SlimICS. It is fast and stable. I've used it together with Semaphore Kernel and it was nearly perfect.
Though I made the switch to SlimJB now it is just because of one reason. The available space for apps is limited because of the size of the datadata partition. SLIMJB got rid of that partition so I don't have the low memory message anymore. And it has Semaphore Kernel as default.
So for daily use just install SlimICS. You can find it in the development section. I can't post URLs yet. But you can Google SlimICS and it should give you the proper link.
Slim ICS definitely

I know SlimICS is very good rom but i'm interested in TiramiSlim because it has more languages (or finnish language which is my language) and it has more features than SlimICS.

I recommend TiramiSlim, used some time (because no Polish language in SlimICS) and it work flawless
Actually i test JB roms (X-Bean now) and thinking about return to TiramiSlim
I wonder, if language pack from OTA (from TiramiSlim) runs properly with SlimICS. Has anybody tried it?
Then we would have SlimICS with others languages.
Tiramislim
Hmm just looked at tiramislim and its based of slim ICS and runs extremely well I say go for that it has more features as you said

[Q] about jb 4.2.1 roms

I have problem with roms with android jb 4.2.1.
All the people write how excellent is c-rom mix 4.2.1.
I installed this rom but I have a lot of stucks, the battery is not good, its not smooth and fast.
I tried others roms of 4.2.1 (like RemICS) but with all of them I have the same problems.
I do always wipes and format before install.
There is something that I can do that will cause the 4.2.1 roms work better?
Thanks for helpers
If i experience problems with any of my current Rom, i go back to GB via Odin and remove everything on my internal SD card that i do not need.
After that i flash a CM9 Rom to use only as base before finally flashing the JB Rom.
With this method, i always get a clean trouble free installation, resulting in a problem free Rom.
Device: GT-i9000
Rom: JB 4.2.1 Vanilla Rootbox v0.0.2
Gapps +..: JusTunBean Inverted
Kernel: Mackay 0.241

[Q] [i9000] Stuck on boot logo after flashing Bigmem & Semaphore "S" Kernel

[Q] [i9000] Stuck on boot logo after flashing Bigmem & Semaphore "S" Kernel
Hi folks,
I'm new to xda (but not to tinkering around with Android devices), and I've come across a problem.
I flashed the latest Cyanogenmod nightly, and the Bigmem patch here.
However, upon flashing the Semaphore "S" kernel (for Slim Bean and bigmem patched ROMs, my phone has been stuck at the boot logo. It does not reach the kernel logo even. The three finger salute does not load recovery, and I am at a loss at what to do here.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi,
put out the battery for a moment (30sec. - 1 min.) then you should get into CWM-Recovery with the three finger combo :good:
If it doesn`t boot correctly flash again...
First CM 10.2, then Semaphore-Kernel via Odin and least but not last the BigMEM-Libs ...
Vide for flashing Kernel via Odin ...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQVj-tPDOXo
Good Luck...:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
But with CM 10.2 nightly from 20131022 there are some probs with combination Sema-Kernel look here ==> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1786220&page=763

I've solved the problem if anyone is interested: Downgraded to Gingerbread, upgraded to ICS, then flashed the ROM of my choice.
All instructions and files needed are in the below thread:

You could always use kernel managing apa like semaphore manager in this case. It's really noob free if you're not comfortable with manual patching or tweaking.
Great :good: are you satisfied with combination CM 10.2 and Sema-Kernel ...
For me it works perfect!

Yes, I do use Semaphore manager exclusively - it is very useful.
Currently on the latest CM nightly + Semaphore 3.3.0s (which has no issues with Hugemem and CM anymote). Loving the extra RAM. Although I do miss Halo.

Great to hear that it works and you`re happy with it...
I will use new nightly and new Sema when i`m back and have my usb-cable and odin :good:
