nexus 4 order limitation - Nexus 4 General

so google does have a order limitation on nexus 4 and it is 3 per person. have ordered 1 for myself then placed another 2 for my friends but i was going to order another one but it seems i have reached my limit however i can still buy 8gb version.
well in my opinion it is a good step taken by google in order to meet demand. i know many people bought 3-4 nexus 4 device when it was launched last year and sold hem on ebay. its still happening, so thats it,

The limit is 2 devices per size (8GB / 16GB) per 24 hours.
Once you've placed your order, I believe it's another 24 hours before you can place the next.
I've imported just under 20 for friends and family into New Zealand, as we have no official Google store, and it's much cheaper to import than to buy at NZD$800 from the local carrier who got a limited "run" into the country.
So if you order 2x 16GBs at 10AM, you can order another 2x 16GBs the next morning after 10AM.

A caution to UK Play Store buyers

Just a cautionary note to would-be device buyers from the Play Store - my girlfriend has had a dreadful experience trying to buy me a 16GB Nexus 7. The order was placed on the 8th to be delivered 'within 2 days'. They messed her around until the 16th, blaming the courier for 'not receiving the order correctly' (which was a load of nonsense according to TNT, the courier in question) and that other UK customers who ordered on the 8th had suffered similar issues. At this point she gave up, told them to cancel the order and purchased a 32GB N7 from Carphone Warehouse. Funnily enough, despite this, the status changed from 'order placed' to dispatched and they attempted to deliver the device originally ordered on the 20th. We declined the delivery, but still haven't received a refund. She's just on the phone to TNT again who are actually being very helpful and have confirmed the device has been returned, which Google claim is untrue. Still in limbo...
I'm sure most people who order from them will have no issues, but bear in mind when ordering from them that they have no UK contact and you're stuck dealing with a useless, rude US-based telephone team who have the ability to do naff all except sprout the same corporate bullish*t about their refunds process. You have no comeback from Citizens Advice or trading standards as there is no entity in the UK to list and the telephone support people will not give a UK trading address!
in the us it takes between 6-8 weeks to get a refund from google.. This is only after the 14 days you must wait before they will even talk to you. Keep on them or they will just keep putting you off.. It takes forever...
On a slightly different track, is TNT the worst carrier ever? They have NEVER succeeded in making a delivery to my home. Every time I find by checking tracking they have supposedly failed to find my home and I have to personally collect, a round trip of fifty miles. Maybe I am at the limit of their delivery radius and the drivers just can't be arsed. Taking into consideration shipping and this journey, it sure made my Nexus 7 a heck of a lot more expensive than if I just bought it on the high street.
Sadly not true of the Nexus 4 which is only available at a rip off price on the high street.
I'm glad my order with the UK Playstore, for a 3G Nexus 7, was processed and delivered without a hitch.
Have you spoken to the bank?

Same here. Mine went without any problem.
Definately ask your bank and get them to help out.

I ordered N7-3G Sunday evening and was despatched Monday morning with them stating 3-5 working days. I was pleasantly to see it waiting for me Tuesday when I came home.
It was delivered quicker than it took TNT to update their tracking information.

I cannot sing the praises of Ebuyer enough when it comes to electronics, I bought 3 Nexus 7 16gb off them, strangely enough the Friday before the 32gb was announced on the following Monday grrrrrrrrrr
Anyway I digress, I ordered the 3 of them at the same time Friday night just before 8pm, paid a couple of quid upgrade for a Saturday delivery next morning 7:30 Parcel Force knocking on the door with them, less than 12 hours, it does not get much better than that
Hope you get it sorted soon
Can't say I've had any problems with the UK play store when ordering it. I ordered a Nexus on the 23rd Nov at half 11 at night. It was dispatched on the Monday and I got it on the Tuesday. Was delivered by TNT as well

They come a bit higher than hdnl/yodel in my opinion.
From experience of buying n7 and being unable to buy n4 I find nothing that would make me recommend buying from play store.
Getting n4 from cpw even with the premium just because play store sucks so much.

plan to order from handtec, how fast is their "DHL Express"shipping?

trying to get the phone as soon as possible when it releases, hopefully that is one day shipping. anyone know?
I chose fedex 2 day priority.
curious to know too... since it was the cheaper option over DHL express.
Processing the order took 1 day then for DHL 22 hours from departure CZECH REPUBLIC to FRANCE via GERMANY so I guess it's 1day.
so one day? that's whats up.
You get it the very next day if you order early enough. Back when the S3 was released, I had preordered the pebble blue but because it was delayed I switched to a One x. I'm in the US. I chatted with handtec Customer service in the morning ( a Thursday) and asked them to switch my order from an S3 to a One x. An hour later I received tracking number and the very next morning it was delivered it took less than 24 hours for the phone to be shipped and delivered from the UK to the US. Incredible service!

Thank you for relaying this to me, that's what I was thinking. Since its more expensive than the other option, which only took 1-2 days. So I think I'll choose this service.
I paid 40$ for 2 days shipping (FedEx)
they promise to bring at 3pm but I got it at 6pm
Hello!
Good to know someone tried this handtec shop in a country outside UK.
I want to place an order for a car kit (for my future HTC One),the address I chose is Paris because my parents are there for a week, and it will cost +30$ if I deliver it in my country (Lebanon).
I red somewhere that they can be heavy on security checks, like calling you and asking you a scan of your ID card,is that true?

[Q] Anyone in UK buying via expansys?

Has anyone ordered their unit from expansys? If so, how long did it take?
I find the service quite tricky: I placed an order for two ones (black for me, silver for my father) on 27th April, on 28th I got an email that the card I provided has expired (my typo) advising me to email them. I did, but received no response. After some time I called them to settle the issue by phone. It was only 2 weeks later, when I called to enquire about my order when I was told that orders above £1k must be paid for by a bank transfer rather than by card. I transfered the funds and keep waiting since the 7th. During that time, the "expected time" on the order page has frequently reached 1 day just to rise to 4 or 6 the following morning. There is no sign of me being closer to receiving my phones.
Is this typical for One, or am I just particularly unlucky?

O2 listing the N5 for just £549.99....

O2 apparently have the network exclusive on the N5 32Gb in the UK, but they're selling it at a £210 markup!
Crazy that Google are allowing this!
https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/phones/lg/nexus-5/
Boooooooooooooooo!!!
They're just shooting themselves in the foot really. People will just go to Google, type in Nexus 5, see it's only £300 elsewhere and make their purchase there.
What a p*** take!

We can only hope that anyone buying a SIM free N5 knows what the RRP is from Google (it's in stock on the Play store anyway) and won't be drawn in by this ridiculous pricing that's floating around on O2 and eBay!
Im on their 'Refresh' plan was thinking of upgrading even though i only just got my HTC One in August.
Then i saw this!
£32 on 3G.
£12 for the tariff
£20 for the phone
32x24 = 768 plus one of fee of 49.99
£818 over 2 years
It's ridiculous. I was tempted to get a Nexus 5 from Carphone Warehouse until I found out that they only have 16GB edition. O2 have exclusivity on the 32GB and this allows them to get away with jacking up the price waaay up. Bad O2, very bad.

With a nearly new HTC One, provided you haven't damaged it you should be able to sell it for enough to get a N5 SIM free anyway.
I don't see how o2 can market this as an exclusive when Google is selling it too.. plus the price difference.
Rip-off, plus you end up with a phone hobbled to O2
Sim free via Google ftw!

you'd be better off with nexus 5 from google play and migrate to giffgaff, some money saved and no contract commitment needed.
MAUUUDDNESSS!!!
via Nexus 4
That's extortion! Would rather buy it from play store for £348 and get a 3 £15pm sim only contract, 500mins, ultd texts and net
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda app-developers app
Get it on playstore and get Three 12 Month Sim Plan.
For £15 a month you get
2000 minutes
5000 minutes three to three
5000 text
True unlimited internet which is soon to be upgraded to 4G/LTE
Its a bargain at that price!

I read that O2 have exclusivity for 32GB GB on the UK high street, ie not online.
So quite possible it will be available via amazon.co.uk. I'm gonna wait and see and if so buy via amazon as I think I then will have better customer service should I need to return it if its faulty. I know you can return to google but I feel happier dealing with amazon when a physical item is being posted to me.
are they giving away any tv this year?

Don't count on it...
I checked ebay last night and there are BIN listings for > £400 for the 16Gb that have sold Nexus 5's in the UK.
The play store has all models in stock, shipped within a week!!!
I'm tempted to purchase 10 of each from Google and chuck them on ebay!

I ordered two with the intent of doing this, but availability is so much better than the N4 with it being sold in almost every UK phone outlet.
I think the eBay sales are coming from countries where it isn't available just yet and the hassle of sending there is never worth it for me.

UK pricing

is it me or is the UK pricing ludicrous, most offers once you add it up come to around the same as a Galaxy S4 if you want 500 / 1000 meg data, and this for a phone which is almost half the price.
We is getting ripped off
also - £419 at argos, £529 at littlewood - wtf !!

The general public will have little to no idea that you can buy the phone cheaply from the Play store. Because of that, the high street phone stores can afford to charge normal prices for the phone, as people will happily pay them.
For the rest of us though, we can get the handset nice and cheaply from the store, stick a cheap SIM in and be happy.
Yes, I've noticed that. A friend of mine almost went for purchasing it from Carphone Warehouse. Luckily he shared his intentions early and now he's waiting for his Google Play Store Nexus to arrive

initially carphone warehouse were selling the nexus 5 16GB for £295 with free delivery which works out at £15 cheaper than the play store, real rip off right?
Also £34 a month on a vodafone 4G contract with a free handset...that's £8 a month more than SIM only which means you're paying £192 for the handset...go figure.
No need to be an ass @bleets
I personally purchased my Nexus on the release day for £295. That was the initial price for about a week. Apparently it's doubled now.
I'm more concerned with how much we're having to pay on the play store compared to usa.
350 dollars = £218 not £339
