I installed the Android Open Kang Project - R3.1.
However after rebooting the system. I am unable to fine the playstore link.
Any ideas/suggestions.
Thanks in advance.
You need to download GApps. GApps are pretty much universal. If you cant find them on the ROM page, then just hop into another 4.2.1 ROM thread and take the GApps from there.
Go to too manager site
You can find gapps
Download the one with your jb version

My mistake. While installing Android Open Kang Project - R3.1, by mistake I unchecked the option to install Gapps.
So I reinstalled Android Open Kang Project - R3.1 again and this time I did not uncheck Gapps. The installation went off smoothly.
Now I have a different problem. After installing the new ROM, I installed a few apps from the play store. However the phone is restarting on its own frequently and it goes into into recovery.
Any idea what could have gone wrong.

Are the restarts often or do they happen at a specified time. You can try disabling HW overlay in developer options.
I tried disabling HW overlay in developer options without much success.
I have 4Ext recovery installed on my phone. Could that be an issue?

No having a certain recovery should not cause random reboots. Do the reboots occur at a specific time like when you execute a certain task (opening app or something)???
I tried to install LBE Privacy guard immediately after installing the new ROM. After which the ROM starting misbehaving.
Could LBE Privacy guard be the culprit?

It could possibly be. Make a backup of your current AOKP setting and stuff. Then reflash AOKP nad use your phone normallly without LBE Privacy. If it does not reboot then LBE Privacy is the culprit.
Problem solved
I reinstalled AOKP. But this time I did not install LBE Privacy guard. And the problem went away.

I ROM'ed my phone with CynogenMod 10.1.0 RC3. When I did that I got a "failure" message when I attempted to install GApps (I think it was a partial download). I continued with the ROM anyway. But now I have essentially a Factory fresh phone but I don't have Clockwork Mod or Google Play installed.
So how can I now install the correctly downloaded GApps? I also don't see how to go back to my previous ROM.
I ROM'ed my phone because I was getting the ("unfortunately, .... has stopped") for many programs again.
The problem is also that if I go to Google Play (in the browser on my phone or on my desktop PC) I can't install any of the Apps I had because they are "already installed" and anyway I don't have the Google Play downloader on my phone.
Help.
I sideloaded ClockworkMod ROM Manager.
(System Settings / check "Unkown Sources" to allow them; dowloaded the .apk and opened it with FileManager)
Used that to get ClockworkMod Recovery
Booted into Recovery and ROM'ed CyanogenMod and the correctly downloaded GAapps.
I now have a happy phone.
The real question is why these "unfortunately, .... has stopped" error messages keep coming back even after I ROM and do
- Factory Reset
- Clear Cache
- Clear Dalvik cache

Could be because of the Gapps package, I've had that problem before.

Try do a flash just without gapps, see if everything works then. If everything's fine, then flash in gapps. See if that causes any problems.
If that does cause problems, then I'm not quite sure, a fresh install fixes most problems...

So I followed all the steps here:
hxxp://rootzwiki.com/topic/31548-rom-guide-how-to-install-android-on-the-hp-touchpad-the-easy-way/
and installed Evervolv AOSP Android 4.3.1 JB (20131110).
I am having issues with Google Play store, where it will only show like 2 applications/games.
I have checked gmail and it works fine.
I tried changing the dpi, but it resets right back when I reboot.
Any help?

Im also using evervolve 4.3.1. Did you flash gapps after the install? Once in flash the gapps twice for it to work

I am having the same issue. I am unable to update gapps or the nightlys via the touchpad from CWM. When I do there and select install from zip file, there are very few files on the sdcard and no zips at all. When I go into the evervolv updater in settings I can see the path where the files are downloaded, but cannot access them for some reason.
I should mention that when I went to the nightly 2014.04.10, it bricked my TP. The touch screen failed to work and when I did a reboot it bricked. I unbricked it via tpdebrick-v004. Since the recovery my gapps have not worked and there are few files on my sdcard, and none that will flash via CWM.
I'm not sure where to go from here aside from doing a full reinstall.
Ideas?
Oh my Glob...
After visitng service - audio now works fine :victory: - so there was a high time to bring everyting back to normal, which is Kitkat Custom ROM and other stuffs.
So this time I decided to go with CarbonROM 4.4.4.
Eveything was fine, until I restored some apps via TitaniumBackup, and then flashed Tegra4Bin. The system was working on ART. After reboot - nothing works. Apps crash, and when I go into setting - after selecting something from the list - settings crash as well.
think there's a problem with ART and Tegra4Bin - all apps were compiled for different drivers than are now on the phone. How can I fix this? Is there a way to go back to Dalvik? I can't get to developer options as well, so maybe there's a way to change runtime via PC then phone is connected? <- nope nope nope
OK, I managed to get into developer setting via notification about USB debbuging, but still - apps crash. I've also noticed that they can be launched 2-3 second after reboot.
I got to NovaLauncher and then when I try to open any app here, there is only a notification - "app is not installed"
Can I clear apps cache with the option "clear cache" in recovery? I wonder if it only clears apps cache or something more?
EDIT
Ok, nevermind anymore, I did factory reset and reinstalled everything :3
EDIT2 CONCLUSION
There was something with gapps. It seems like CarbonROM has gapps included, so installing another pack was causing crashes. But when I first installed CarbonROM, I also flashed gapps and everything was fine. Well...<--- bull**** :x
Dont think carbon can have gapps included in rom since it is against XDA rules.

I guess that it isn't the cause of this afterall. And also it surely doesn't have gapps included, it's just "wipe cache" and "wipe data/factory reset" don't delete everything x) it just resets all the data so new ROM can be flashed... am I right?
I alwayse perform full wipe : system and data then catche then dalvik then format system manualy then format /data never had any problems like you described.
Where are all those options in CWM 6.0.4.4 ? If they are there, then I'll definitely find them
EDIT Ok, done ^.^ Thanks for the hint ;]
They are all there some on firat page some in advanced manu and some in second folder from bottom.
I'm tired.... I happened again, which is the third time x.x I don't know if it's because of ROM, or kernel or whatever else... Beanstalk didn't have this issue, but I don't want to accuse CarbonROM of this if I'm not sure if it's ROM's fault
Uh, sorry for double-posting but it happened again and this time it was on Beanstalk 4.4.4 !
I'm really confused... Maybe iodak 9.95 really doesn't work well with 4.4.4 ROMs?

Heck, even my system UI crashes in a loop in official CM11 when I'm on ART.
For some reason, ART causes so many crashes/random restarts and my phone keeps wiping dalvik cache during these restarts.
Stay on dalvik until it becomes more stable.
@UP
I'm on Dalvik since it happend the second time.
I left the phone without battery for the entire night - like it would somehow help. Either way - when I turned it on and got to system the first thing I've done was deleting COMODO Mobile - I noticed that when this app launched after restart, everything began to crash. And guess what?
It seems fine now...

How do I get proper logs?
Anyway, I also noticed that all my gapps were deleted and probably thanks to this system started to work properly. COMODO wasn't the source of issues. So I am almost sure that it was something with gapps for android 4.4.4 - I'll try to flash different gapps or just downgrade to 4.4.2 where everything worked just perfect
I downloaded new Gapps for 4.4.4, changed ROM to official CM11 and today it happened again.
I can't do factory reset - too much data to be lost.
I can't open any app - only error "app is not installed"
Trying to get to any setting in setting menu cause crash.
I can only open apps in 5 seconds, then everything is fudging up.
Is there a way to delete apps from CWM? Or somehow via USB from PC?
Today, I installed CM12.1 of luk's build 09/04/15..... I was happy that the ROM booted at least.... But when I flashed gapps as given in the link of the cm12s thread, Google play services force closes constantly .... Also when I installed titanium backup via apk, it says the device is not rooted. On my old device, cyanogen came pre rooted, when the hell it became like this... Plz help, and don't get angry its my first flashing of rom thanks in advanced.
Try this gapps package
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934550851
To enable root go you need to go to about phone and click on build number seven times which will make you a developer. Go back and to the developers options and scroll down until u find root access and enable it
I flashed the same zip... It fcs constantly
Try wiping dalvik cache/cache
If that doesn't work consider a clean reinstall
Hi friends. I got the phone today. I unlocked the boot loader, installed TWRP and flashed Cyanogenmod 13 snapshot. No problems with all this.
When I try to install a Gapps package, all I get when I boot it up is the message "unfortunately setup wizard has stopped". If I press OK, the message comes back within half a second. I tried the stock, micro, mini and pico package from Open Gapps all with the same result. The Pure Nexus Dynamic Gapps does the same thing.
I cant figure out what I'm doing wrong here. Help me please

what you're doing wrong is flashing CM..
I kid really, after flashing the gapps, and you get that error, go back and wipe data. OR.. try it this way. before you flash cm, but after downloading the ROM and gapps, wipe system and data. you will not be able to boot after this until you flash your ROM, that's because you wiped your ROM off your phone.
I flashed both CM and gapps at the same time and it worked.
What should I use instead of CM then? I want something that looks like stock but has a bunch of options to tweak the settings. I like battery time

I'm using pure nexus ROM, what you use is purely choice. but I find that I'm much happier with pure nexus than with cm.
