Today, I installed CM12.1 of luk's build 09/04/15..... I was happy that the ROM booted at least.... But when I flashed gapps as given in the link of the cm12s thread, Google play services force closes constantly .... Also when I installed titanium backup via apk, it says the device is not rooted. On my old device, cyanogen came pre rooted, when the hell it became like this... Plz help, and don't get angry its my first flashing of rom thanks in advanced.
Try this gapps package
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934550851
To enable root go you need to go to about phone and click on build number seven times which will make you a developer. Go back and to the developers options and scroll down until u find root access and enable it
I flashed the same zip... It fcs constantly
Try wiping dalvik cache/cache
If that doesn't work consider a clean reinstall

I've got teamhacksungs ics build 16 on my sgs i9000, but after coming from an earlier build and doing a factory reset it wont let me install google apps on my phone. Ive tried flashing multiple different google app versions through recovery and even downloading and installing it straight from rom manager but it starts off installing it and then aborts. Ive even tried installing the market apk on my phone with no luck as it just crashes every time i open the market app.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
HereĀ“s what worked for me:
1. Install the ROM again.
2. Make a full wipe including cache and dalvik.
3. Boot normally.
4. Restart into recovery Mode.
5. Choose the Gapps V7.1. and install it.
6. Do a full wipe again.
Maybe this will help.
I installed the Android Open Kang Project - R3.1.
However after rebooting the system. I am unable to fine the playstore link.
Any ideas/suggestions.
Thanks in advance.
You need to download GApps. GApps are pretty much universal. If you cant find them on the ROM page, then just hop into another 4.2.1 ROM thread and take the GApps from there.
Go to too manager site
You can find gapps
Download the one with your jb version
Sent from my Incredible S using xda app-developers app

My mistake. While installing Android Open Kang Project - R3.1, by mistake I unchecked the option to install Gapps.
So I reinstalled Android Open Kang Project - R3.1 again and this time I did not uncheck Gapps. The installation went off smoothly.
Now I have a different problem. After installing the new ROM, I installed a few apps from the play store. However the phone is restarting on its own frequently and it goes into into recovery.
Any idea what could have gone wrong.

Are the restarts often or do they happen at a specified time. You can try disabling HW overlay in developer options.
I tried disabling HW overlay in developer options without much success.
I have 4Ext recovery installed on my phone. Could that be an issue?

No having a certain recovery should not cause random reboots. Do the reboots occur at a specific time like when you execute a certain task (opening app or something)???
I tried to install LBE Privacy guard immediately after installing the new ROM. After which the ROM starting misbehaving.
Could LBE Privacy guard be the culprit?

It could possibly be. Make a backup of your current AOKP setting and stuff. Then reflash AOKP nad use your phone normallly without LBE Privacy. If it does not reboot then LBE Privacy is the culprit.
Problem solved
I reinstalled AOKP. But this time I did not install LBE Privacy guard. And the problem went away.
i have recently installed remICS-jb - 4.2.1 rom on my captivate .. and m loving this rom. but the thing is, it doesnt come with google play store installed.. so yes, i tried to flash Gapps but it gets stuck into bootloop . so i had to clean install the rom again (factory reset, wipe, install) ...
i installed many playstore.apk (every version) but they just start and then force closes (no dialouge is shown... it just closes itself after like 2 seconds) . i even copied the playstore.apk in /system/apps but that didn't help. i even rebooted many times after installing the apk.
So, finally i figured the only way left is to flash it via CWM . is there any google android market.zip file to flash via CWM ? if not, please give alternate ways.

Grab their specific Gapps and flash them in recovery.
Hello guys! How are you?
I'm having some bugs with CyanogenMod 12.1 in my MotoG and haven't found nothing that could help me with my problem.
Well, here's the story:
My device had Android KitKat 4.4 as the stock rom and I updated it to Lollipop 5.0 before rooting.
Well, I unlocked the bootloader and used TWRP as a custom recovery and installed SuperSU.
I've been using the phone about almost 8 months after rooting and then, Motorola released an update, I tried to update it via OTA and, of course, it didn't worked since TWRP can't OTA. Nothing changed in my phone, I simply rebooted it and it worked but since a few days some apps started to suddenly close and/or stop.
I decided to install CyanogenMod 12.1, downloaded the latest nightly and a stock package of GApps and flashed them via TWRP.
Wiped Dalvik Cache, Data, Cache and System
At the first attempt, TWRP rebooted after flashing CM12.1 and I wiped the caches via WIPE menu before flashing GApps wich couldn't be installed because there was "no space in storage". Well, I booted my phone normally (running cm12) and downloaded a Micro GApps package and flashed it sucessfully.
Problem is: Clock stops working (it has stopped for now), I can't install some apps from PlayStore such as Facebook, etc and my phone appears to be unrooted.
I think my TWRP is bugged or something cause it does not works as tutorials, etc tells...It shows some errors and sometimes reboots itself after flashing some file.
Do you guys think I should reset everything and then redo all the steps to use CyanogenMod properly? I really liked this custom rom but I'm afraid there will be more bugs in the future....
Anyone?
my solution..
1. (JUST SAYING)You can install ota through fastboot. Use the ota file found in root.( There is a thread for this)
2. Try installing Lucas 2.8.7.0 build. Find it in his thread. Its posted there. It's somewhere in the sea of posts just find it.
3. Then try to clean flash cm 11 build. Then install cm 12.1 build.
4. See if it works.
I don't understand why you face this problem cause well TWRP is very stable.
Well see if it works and get back to me.
Edit :
Saved you some trouble here's the link for TWRP
Link : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0WGdtNWubBJVlctNE5PZ1oyQ00/view?pli=1
Its labelled as 2.8.7.0 but its actually 6.0 features of 7.0.

This is exactly what you should do.
There are several things that don't work as they supposed to do, so follow the steps @sagar846 mentioned.

cm 12 and 12.1 have some little bugs still but it is useable for daily use
Hi friends. I got the phone today. I unlocked the boot loader, installed TWRP and flashed Cyanogenmod 13 snapshot. No problems with all this.
When I try to install a Gapps package, all I get when I boot it up is the message "unfortunately setup wizard has stopped". If I press OK, the message comes back within half a second. I tried the stock, micro, mini and pico package from Open Gapps all with the same result. The Pure Nexus Dynamic Gapps does the same thing.
I cant figure out what I'm doing wrong here. Help me please

what you're doing wrong is flashing CM..
I kid really, after flashing the gapps, and you get that error, go back and wipe data. OR.. try it this way. before you flash cm, but after downloading the ROM and gapps, wipe system and data. you will not be able to boot after this until you flash your ROM, that's because you wiped your ROM off your phone.
I flashed both CM and gapps at the same time and it worked.
What should I use instead of CM then? I want something that looks like stock but has a bunch of options to tweak the settings. I like battery time

I'm using pure nexus ROM, what you use is purely choice. but I find that I'm much happier with pure nexus than with cm.
