Not rooted, stock ROM
The Note is freezing on every app/game after few seconds/minutes, the screen become higher intensity and reboot
(kind of reboot it goes back to the lock screen is not rebooting from the start).
Then it loads, when try to use some of launchers he load it and reset again or when I reach to launch launcher and try to
open some app it blocks and reboot again.
Can to many installed app/games be a problem?
I have seen that some of icons are b/w for those app which was moved to SD card.
Can moving app to SD card cause such problem?
If I do wipe data factory reset can I brick the Note because it is not rooted/stock ROM on it?
What wipe data factory reset is doing, will it help?
In your first thread you described that you already played with supersu etc and tried to root your Rom.
And you had already some of the problems describe here again.
So I think you should install a ICS Stock Rom with PC Odin. After root it with PhilZ Kernel.
And do not install so many apps - only the ones you really need and use.
latest ICS have issues with apps disappearing .. if moved to SD card.

I had my phone randomly soft brick today and I was wondering if someone might be able to shed some light on what happened to me.
So, my phone is a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000M on Bell Canada. Rooted, ADW, Clockword Recovery, *No* Lagfix (I removed it), GPS Update. Today I went to open an app and the phone froze and subsequently rebooted. Upon restart the boot animation displayed for a while and then went to a black screen. Phone did not respond to any input. Force restarting led to the same effect. Tried a battery pull, no dice. Wiped the cache partition, no dice. Booted into recovery then clockwork recovery. Restored to my last nandroid backup. Phone restarted, displayed boot animation for a long time then went to the black screen and accepted no input. Restored to my nandroid before that, no luck. Wiped dalvik cache, no luck. Connected the usb, booted into recovery, opened android commander, and pulled down a copy of everything on the internal sd card. Finally, while walking to the Bell Canada store to get a replacement, I did a factory reset... The phone booted.
So what has me extremely curious is what did a factory reset do, that restoring from a nandroid backup didn't? And what the hell happened to the phone that an app crash trigged a quasi soft brick. Let me know if anyone has any ideas.
Thanks!
I had the same thing happen to me all the time on the XXJPC TOM after having installed the TaskManager update (it was 1.4 back then) from Samsung Apps. Everything seemed fine until I rebooted. After the boot animation played, there was the "I'm crashing" vibration (vibrating once, then three times shorty after) at which point the phone went off. I had this happen four times in a row before I figured out (by accident) that it's the TaskManager update that did this to me. Only a factory reset could revive the phone. Did you, by any chance, install the TaskManager update, too, on a Froyo ROM?
Hope this helps a bit. It was rather frustrating to me.
I'm just running a rooted stock i9000 rom (android 2.1). No task manager update.
I did manage to recover. The process ended up being this:
Backup data on internal sd card while in recovery mode
Factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Boot
Install rom manger
Copy data back to internal sd card
Restore from most recent nandroid backup
The only thing I can think of is somehow I suffered a corruption of my data partition, so the factory reset fixed it by wiping the partition. Not sure if that's a possible explanation.

Hi I am new to the Android market. I bought a Captivate last May read as many posts on how to flash a new rom to my phone. I flashed Firefly 3.0 to it in June. Everything was fine until a week and a half ago. I'm not sure what caused this, there was an update to TB that I downloaded, but I also deceided to change my boot animation to the Dark Blue. I did this but then deceided I liked the stock theme better and changed it back after a day or so. When the battery was low I put the phone on to charge over night, when I turned the phone on it went in to a boot loop. I put the phone in to recovery and re installed the rom.zip. The phone started to work again but was acting strange, so when I got home I re rooted, flashed back to stock and re installed Firefly 3.0 TB restored the phone, but when I set my ringtone and notifications etc, they would not save after I turned off the phone. I reset all thge ringtones and notifications and they stayed this time but |I now cannot download any apps or update apps, I keep getting out of memory error, even though I have about 11gb of memory on the internal sd and about 6gb on the exteral card. I apologize if this has been covered but I could not find any posts with the exact same issues. I'm reluctant to flash the rom again out of fear that I will have even less memory. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Try, rebooting into recovery. Wipe cache and under advanced, wipe Dalvik cache. Reboot phone and wait while it rebuilds cache. Then go into applications. Find market and wipe data. When restoring from TiBu also make sure your not restoring SYSTEM data when you restore your apps.
Thanks for your help! I was able to download the swype beta again. I can't restore some of my old apps like ebay won't install, but new apps will, can't figure that one out. Thanks again for your help I really appreciate it!

Sudden wake up seems like a broken app issue. If you reflashed ROM and the issue persist, that problably means you didn't make "clean install" i.e. didn't wipe all system partition, factory reset, wipe cache/dalvik.
If you indeed made clean install but still have the problem, try fixing permissions at recovery. Also try installing app that tells you which app keeps waking device (GSam Battery Monitor or Better Battery Stats), and uninstall that app. I had similar issue, caused by CPU Control app - which crashed during one reboot. It was waking devide while trying to adjust governor/clocks.
If that don't help try to reflash ROM again (ensuring you make clean install) but don't install any apps. Try most minimalistic ROM you can find - without any stock apps.

thanks for ur reply divibyzero
actually like when i used cwm ICS builds it got disappeared by itself for unknown reasons!,and of course im glad of it
and yes,i had a clean install with every thing wiped and i have checked permissions and logcat myself, but there wasn't anything strange!
by the way those apps u suggested was really useful for me,and i've found many interesting thing inside the phone
I've tried searching around threads for similar problems but I couldn't find something quite exact like mine.
Well I'm running a Jellybeer rom now and before that I was running CM9 and then AOSP beerbong rom.. This problem I noticed when I was switching from the AOSP rom to the AOKP rom by the same developer. I followed all The instructions, did factory wipes etc. And then once on the jellybeer rom I just did the cache wipes as required for rom updates. I am also using titanium backup pro to back up and restore the "user apps with data". The problem is :
Every time I reboot my phone:
1)launcher is set to stock.
2) when I activate the nova launcher the widgets have to be restored.
3) lock screen widgets are gone.
4) SwiftKey 3 dictionary has to be updated or it doesn't recognise the old one.
5) randomly during the startup i get this random vertical black bar towards the right or left of the screen for a second or two and it seems to be like a glitch. I've got the soft keys / navigation bar enabled. Before when then rom had transparent soft keys, they would become opaque after this glitch appeared.
6) accessibility options like notifier pro and dash clock are also reset to "off " after reboot but once I enable one of them all of them come Back on as well.
I have tried clearing logs and caches with "sd maid" and I thought It was a bug in the rom, but after many updates, this is still there. No one seems to be having the same problem as me in the rom development thread.
There was this one time when my phone crashed and showed the roms booting screen and once the system was loading, it looked like how the phone is supposed to boot up with all my widgets, launcher, dictionary etc.
This is quite frustrating as every reboot I have to reconfigure my phone partially.

Thanks, for now it seems to be normal. Only I see that black bar on boot. That could be something to do with the rom, I will be moving this to the solved section for now.
If anyone is interested, I backed up my user apps using guide which is linked above and then I proceeded with the factory wipe and then I restored my apps and made sure the main apps that were restarting were kept on the internal memory.
Thanks once again for helping me solve my issues. It's what a relief to reboot without having the headache of setting everything again. Even SwiftKey is working fine. Even though I'm using the older version of it.

Hi,
why does my n7000 randomly reboots and there is this sd card removed error ( displayed quite frequently all the time when i turn the display back on) in the camera app, i cannot access previous images taken as it says " not enough space. delete unnecessary items...." and also the only app that hangs all the time.
and i am on stock jellybean, noticed all these problems only after upgrading to jellybean after a few weeks of up-gradation. . Never have i flashed any rom till now. Tried factory reset numerous times, wiped cache from recovery. These errors became too annoying that i just installed ' Root_SuperSU.0.95.Only-signed ' app and used ROM manager to reboot into recovery and wiped Dalvik cache. is there any possible way to stop with all this madness?
searched for a few days to find a fix. should i downgrade it to stock gingerbread and then upgrade it back to jellybean? oh, and i don't understand the procedure to downgrade/install custom ROM (used only a windows mobile asus p320 and that was too easy to format, just copy the ROM and poke the reset + volume, pretty easy) new to android(tried to read how to root/ install custom ROM's . my mind is too dense to get all that info)
Oh! and mine has the emmc bug though.
Help would be appreciated
thank you!
