Difficulty with people hearing me. - Motorola Droid 4

So I bought a Used D4 from someone a few months ago. It has been running great, but I have had one significant problem.
People cannot hear me very well at all. Frequently, what I am saying will not be clear, and very broken. I have absolutely no idea what is causing this, but it seems to happen especially when I have a "lower" signal. This isn't the only time, it happens with a full signal too. But when the signal is medicore, I am unable to even talk to people.
The thing is, I can hear others just fine. It never really breaks up. But when it comes to me talking, more often than not, people cannot understand/hear me.
I am running Eclipse (which I have run from the first day I got it), but wondering if maybe changing my rom or updating my radio might help. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Call Recording Sounds Choppy often, but not always

I am experiencing very erratic behavior with my call recording feature on my Touch Pro. I have tried many different roms, and even a few different radios. What happens is sometimes it records the other party very clearly for the entire call. Other times during the call the other party goes back and forth from sounding choppy to clear. For the life of me I cannot figure out what is going on. I've read others who use the GSM version of this phone who were plagued by this problem claim that it goes away with their new official rom upgrade, but of course, that won't work since I'm CDMA, on USCC. Another thing is I've not seen anyone report the recording being back and forth from choppy/stuttering/distorted to clear. So ... I wonder how many others have had this same experience I am having. I suspect this could be related to something very low level if since I tried different ROMs and that didn't solve it and others have reported this being fixed with an OFFICIAL ROM upgrade, which upgrades the radio, OS, ect., everything, then maybe there is no setting I can change to fix this? If anyone has any suggestions or direct solutions I would be very eager to try them. I know this is a very esoteric issue and probably won't get many responses however.
I have included a zip file of a recording I did which demonstrates the issue I've been experiencing. For anyone brave enough to really try to offer me a suggestion or solution, thank you!

Still no ideas? I've flashed MULTIPLE ROMS and nothing seems to fix this, yet others have seemed to fix this by ROM flashing.. what is the CAUSE of this issue????

Did froyo fix the crazy screen bug?

Is it me, or did froyo fix the "crazy screen" bug? I also noticed that my phone doesn't get as hot when it's been charging on my car dock.
I'm running FRF50 since it was released. The screen issue is long gone. I use to have it a couple of times a day. I sometimes get it but that's once a week.

This, and I'm on FRF85B
Gotta be the best part of froyo for me, crazy screen bug fix, flash player, Jit compiler.
Which crazy thing happening are you guys screaming about? Are you talking about when the touchscreen would begin to register touches in the wrong place until the screen is turned off and on again?
Yeah that's what they are talking about. But the bad news is this problem still exists. I've had it happen many times on froyo. It's not gone at all.

Funny thing is that I had those issues on an AT&T-banded phone and they have gone way downhill since Froyo.
I find the granularity/preciseness of the screen better, and more responsive when, for example, you are dragging left-to-right and you start dragging up-down. However, I only do this in the browser so it could be down to better browser performance and/or JIT?
Still have screen uncalibration issues but seem to be better in 85 than 72
Does indeed seem to be a thing of the past, and on a similar note, it's improved the capacitive button accuracy as well.
Good that they've done it, but now I keep hitting them in the wrong place.
I'm using FRF91. Crazy screen bug happens with me twice a day. I don't know what I do to go away, but after a few minutes it stops by itself.
Ok I have been noticed a new problem for the past few days where the screen did not response at all when I turned on the phone. I cannot slide the unlock bar to unlock it. I had to turn it off and on again for one or two times to make the screen response again. Anyone else having this same problem?
Crazy screen occurrence definitely reduced.. however, it still happens when phone heats up significantly.. say, on a dash board while navigating. It's most definitely heat-related... so it must be hardware =(
I'm running Geo's FRG83 and I get it quite a bit when using Skype. I've seen this problem from the beginning and haven't seen a reduction in this issue with later versions of Android. It is the only problem I have with Android/N1.

I've had the N1 since day one and never had this bug. But I don't use Skype...

[Q] Samsung Galaxy i9000 freezes on standby

I have had my phone for about 2 weeks now, and this has been an issue since about day 1. I will set my phone aside while doing other things. When I want to use it I pick it up and press the power button to activate the screen. It seems that about 20% of the time the phone is non-responsive. I can't even receive calls/texts/email while it is in this state. I end up pressing the power button for 10 seconds or pulling the battery to get it to reboot. Everything seems to work fine.
I have heard that this could be a result of a reception issue, and that an update would be released in September to solve this issue. Is this information correct? Has the update already been released? I believe I am running the most current version, 2.1 update 1
Is there a software fix? Do I have a defective unit that needs to be sent in for repair? Is there a setting I need to look at? Any assistance would be appreciated.
you are describing the typical scenario of too many background services and apps running taking up too much resources thus making the phone non reponsive
install Auto Run Killer http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8123924&postcount=40
then tick all the apps to disable reboot your phone
then you can choose which apps you really want to let lose for it to run in the background
It's also entirely possible it's faulty though
I don't think it is a matter of apps running because there are no active apps running when I am not using my phone.
I guess I am looking for an answer that tells me that this is an known issue with this model and I wiould be better off with a different product, or if I will be safe to get it replaced/repaired.
Ideally I would love to hear it is only a matter of a software patch or something similar.

there is no point helping some one that have their mind already set on their own ideas already
Well that was a pretty useless post. The only idea my mind is set on is to get my hands on a dependabel phone, preferably the one I have. You suggested too many apps running, fine, but unless they run automatically on reboot and/or the 'active applications' window that runs by default is inacurate, there aren't too many resources being used and nothing running.
you'll be surprised what runs under the hood
you can run this and find out

another good thing to disable is the Media Scan

Don't be so quick to assume your suggestion was correct either, AllGamer:

Thus far nothing in that thread has suggested taxing the system too far. In fact, hardly installing anything at all from a fresh factory reset still has this problem and no one yet has really worked out why aside Samsung saying the hardware is damaged. I was on the phone to them today, same thing said.
i read that before and the signal theory doesn't hold truth
if that is the case, every time i go to the toilet, or to the stairs in my office building (way deep in the building) you have Zero reception at all, yet I've never experience the freeze on black screen issue.
same goes with walmart, it's true, most walmart warehouse like buildings have extremely poor cell phone reception inside.
assuming that signal is the cause issue is true, then installing this app will prevent that

Mobile Signal Widget
I'll highly recommend this app for anyone experiencing the issue and are under the impression the signal issue is the cause of the frozen black screen

I see no truth in the signal claim I've said why in the other thread. But this is the point, it is an issue a few of us are having from all over the place but as of yet there is absolutely no distinguishable pattern. As I say, a completely fresh phone with official firmware and no installs also has the problems. It's a very frustrating situation because no one can conclusively point to software or hardware yet. Samsung keep saying the same thing, send it in, send it in..
it's true the only way to diagnose those will require to be hands on, and run tests to pin point exactly what is causing that.
Eclair doesn't have the option to auto upgrade, so that's definitely not it
Lag is likely, but what, or which stock apps can cause so much lag?
signal even when the phone is having a hard time switching and scanning for a new signal it shouln't keep the phone unresponsive for such a long period of time unless it's lagging
my Old Treo did that, anytime it lost signal and regained signal there was a minor pause, or a looooooong pause if the phone was lagging
if this is the same case with the SGS we just need to figure out which App is running in the background that is dragging the entire system down.
it could be the internal SD which might have become defective, thus locking up the phone, similar to those people that can't get past the boot screen
i can't think of any other plausible causes at the moment.
Well, I can tell you: having experienced the problem a number of times, it is almost certainly not the lag scenario you have described - this is a proper lock-up. My guess (since it does appear to have some correlation to cell switching, or other signal-related issue) is a bug in the baseband drivers, or something similar, resulting in a panic. I might see if there's any way to get a dump out of this thing to prove it, but at the moment it's just a guess, so I'm not going to tell you that's the definitely the reason, or that you're stupid if you don't agree, even though I'm more qualified to do so, since I've actually experienced the problem.

Android is designed to not need auto task killers. It is purely a myth that they are needed whatsoever. This is linux we're talking about here, not windows.... It's possible he has a single app installed causing the issue, but the ideal fix would be to figure it out one app at a time and get rid of the faulty app.

[Q] A2DP and Mobile Data problem with official ICS ROM

Hey guys! This is my first post on XDA, though I've been using it for quite a while.
I'm not exactly looking for answers/solutions, but rather sharing my problem and see if someone else is having them too.
I have a Latin American version of the I91000 (TTT). I recently upgraded to ICS using the official firmware from Samfirmware (UHLPE). At first everything looked great. The performance improvement was noticeable from the first bootup. Not only was it faster, but the intro video was far smoother and looked nicer. The general UI changes are very nice, and I did notice an improvement in battery life.
However, I've been experiencing a couple of glaring issues that really mared the experience enough to make me want to go back to Gingerbread, which I will probably do.
These are the problems:
1. The mobile data connection is very unstable. Sometimes it just doesn't load anything, and sometimes I lose the signal altogether. The 3G/H/H+ icon disappears and all. I never had this problem in GB during the 6 months I've had this phone.
2. The Bluetooth audio connection also has problems. It's now more unstable and susceptible to interference, and the lag is also much more noticeable now. It was about .5 seconds before, but now it's more than a full second.
But that's not the worst issue. The media remote control functions just stopped working altogether, namely, the |<< , >>| , >/|| buttons on my headset. I have a Nokia BH505 Bluetooth headset, and I didn't have any of these problems before either.
So that's it. I would like to know if someone else is experiencing one or both of these issues. I'll also check the Samfirmware forums to look for replies on the matter. Thank you for your feedback.

Question Device rebooting during calls [Exynos)

It has been a very long while since this is happening. I don't even remember if this was happening at the very beginning, in February when I bought it but it has been at least 4 months since I remember. I don't do much calls over the SIM network but I talk a lot over Messenger, Teams and Whatsapp. It is happening randomly but quite often. I can hear the other person's voice dropping like it simply dissappears suddenly. First I hear a few milisecond crack and then it dissappears for a second or two during Messenger. When I am doing Whatsapp calls it does the same and sometimes even drops the call and shows that I got Mic problems (Whatsapp shows that ). And when I am in a Teams call the phone might even reboot during talking. It is not hardware because when I was on Android 11 before the Update, it had similar problems but instead of rebooting the phone it simply freezes and makes a glitchy noise continuously until I reboot the phone. If I dont rboot it, The microphone simply won't work. When I am on a call via the Bluetooth Buds I don't have this issue. Both microphones work fine. The bottom one and the top ones.
It feels like it is the baseband....or whatever it is called... I don't want yet to put a cutom ROM as I lose the warranty. It is an Exynos version with 512 Gb space and I am looking for a solution first, and if I find out that a different ROM will fix this, I am OK but if I find out that it is hardware I would rather post it back to Samsung and get a replacement.
Many people like me here?
Found a small workaround. I installed an early version of the ROM via Odin and everything is working fine so far. So I assume it is Software/Hardware not just Hardware. I installed version G998XXU3AUE1 because you can't downgrade from Android 2 to an more earlier version than this. It has to do something with "3" after XXU which I think is the version of the baseband. We need Samsung to fix this so we can use the Phone with the latest ROMs... I did not test other versions asd this one works fine and the battery is even better than on newers ones. I actually missed the battery life from old verions to be hojnest, since the updates it could be noticible that it drains faster.
Another theory is that after installing Samsung weareble and starting using the buds that spoils the audio codecs ...I still didint connect it since flashed this ROM so after completing the testing with all calling apps I will put the Wearble again and see if it works.
