Can''t Get ADB Working - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all, got a Kindle FireHD, can't get ADB to install correctly.
I'm on Win8 Pro. I booted Win8 into Test Mode, installed the Kindle ADB, and then got the error below:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Can anyone please help me? I even installed it by clicking "Run as Admin", and still the same.
Edit: And the Kindle doesn't show up in My Computer. It did, until I messed with the ADB drivers, and now I can't access it's internal memory from My Computer.

And I get the below info when I go into device mgmt.

Haven't used Windows 8 yet but does it have a device manager?

Yes basically it has the full Windows 7 experience, but then you can switch to another menu which is the "Metro". But yes it shows in device manager as Kindle ADB.

Stupid question but did you try to run adb in the cmd line.. If not try and see if any devices are listed. Try stopping server, starting server, then type adb devices. If there is a device listed than your in business. It seems to me like its working since its listed in the device manager, although I do not have experience with windows 8 and I have heard that it has a lot of bugs with these drivers..:good:

GT to Win7-64... can't see each other

Alright, I have had my Tab for nearly a month, but never bothered trying to physically shuffle data from my pc or my seagate goflex satellite hdd.
If I plug the satellite into my tab, nothing happens. It can't see the drive. This means that the only way to get anything is through the wireless AP built into the harddrive. This is frustrating if I want to physically move files, not just stream.
If I plug my tab into my win7-64 laptop, again NOTHING happens. The drivers validated, windows says it understands that it is there, but I cannot mount the hdd on the tab, nor can I even see that it is there except for "drivers installed".
What the hell do I do?
Getting all sorts of pissed!
Do I need to root my tab first or something? Put a different OS-mod on it?
Install Kies....
There is no Kies for PC. t_t It's MAC only.
It's definitely not mac only.

Mac version is relatively new, it's been there for Windows for months before that. And, to be honest, Kies is Samsung own software to manage devices, even my mother's Corby installed that horrible thing.

Open samsung webpage. Download kies for window. Install it and you are good to go

Be sure before saying such ****!!
There it's a windows version of lite in usa. The full version is international but can be downloaded and installed on windows. Problem its not for x64. That it what I am on and when I try to connect it says put device in kies mode. Called support and that is what they told me.
Could be wrong but I gave up. Even setup into dev mode but still did not work.
I don't think you should need it for external drive as mine came right up . I was told needed it for root.
You absolutely don't need it for root, and couldn't use it for drive mapping. Win 7 has native drivers to communicate with tab.
Settongs, applications, development ---> check debugging.
Then connect to your pc.

[Q] Someone successfully explored files in nookhd+ cm10 with MTP mode on win8x64?

I'm using cm10.1.3 stable on my nook HD+.And I tried to connect my nook HD+ to PC(win8 x64) with MTP but falied.In device manager,there's a device 'MTP' with yellow triangle.I have tried to 'update the driver',and selected android phone 'the driver on PC',but moments after it told me can't find files.
And I tried to let it search the driver in 'usb_driver_r04-windows',but it said it can't find any files for MTP...
and I have tried to delete the unknown mtp device,and reinstall the driver,but met the same issues
I have tried to on/off the debugging,but the driver install still failed...
Anyone can tell me that how I can explore the file in my nook on PC successfully?(without cardreader)
Thx~
by the way,I have successfully explored files in my xperia phone with MTP mode before
I just solved the issue.:
Disable the Driver Signature Verification in win8,
and delete ALL the possible device that may be related to Nook HD+(I deleted a usb mass storage device,and an android ADB device) in Device manager,
and replug the usb ,
and in 'other devices'
there will appear a new 'BN Nook HD+' and a new 'MTP',
update driver for 'MTP'.
and choose the device driver from computer,
then select ‘portable device’,
from 'Standard MTP device',
select 'MTP driver'(not MTP usb driver),
Next~
All right now

Thanks, but for the ones that can't find "portable devices" like me and have Windows N or KN versions installed (I have Windows 8.1 N x64bits) it results that you must install a Windows .msu update:
Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 7/8/8.1/10
In my case i had to install latest (2014) Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 8.1:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2929699
Hope this helps others that can't get MTP to work at all.

ISETool.exe and all IsolatedStorage Explorer Tools suddently stopped working -> "Smar
am currently on the edge of madness with regards to the IsolatedStorage Explorer Tools. I've been using http://isostorespy.codeplex.com/ for month now without any problems but today it just suddently stopped working. After a bit of research i found that the command line version "ISETool.exe" also crashes without any explanation (see Screenshot)

I am using Windows 8.1 Pro x64. Does anyone know what the **** is going on with this and how i can fix it?
Did you upgrade your phone to WP8.1 or is it still on an 8.0 version? Have you tried reinstalling (or installing a newer copy of) the WP SDK?
Also, I can't translate the exception message, so I really don't know what the problem is aside from the self-explanatory nature of a "DeviceNotFoundException". Can you see the device with other tools (XapDeploy, WPPT, etc.) and for that matter does it show up in Explorer?

Hey,
thank you for your reply. I am running WP8.0 and haven't upgraded yet. Repairing my Visual Studio 12 SDK didn't help, i am currently trying to install the 2013 version.
> Can you see the device with other tools (XapDeploy, WPPT, etc.) and for that matter does it show up in Explorer?
Yes it shows in the explorer and i can use it to run/debug my applications, Only getting access to iso storage doesn't help
I'm getting similar errors too. After a while I just started using Windows Phone Power Tools, it can do the same and it works for me..
Very odd. WPPT uses the same APIs as ISETool and (presumably, though I haven't checked) isostorespy. Hope it works for you, in the mean time I am not sure what the solution is.

Lg L90 D415 Restart my Pc

Hello guys, i got a Lg L90 d415 and every time y connect it to my pc, windows shows the blue error screen and restart.
What can be the cause of this? the phone? because i had win 7 and change it for win xp and got the same problem.
thanks in advance for any help you could give me
You have to uninstall every driver you have regarding the phone. It happened to me too when I installed the LG Suite on the D405n.
Just let it function on the drivers that it installs when you connect it 'the first time', I haven't got a problem ever since.

nexus 6 marshmallow root using mac osX - error message! - device is currupt -

nexus 6 marshmallow root using mac osX - error message! - device is currupt -
wanting better optimization for my Nexus 6 with marshmallow build MRA58R, i started the process of unlocking BL and going for root access following this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/general/how-to-nexus-6-one-beginners-guide-t2948481
right in the beginning already im stuck. i unlocked bootloader fine, had toggled on in the device, checked through terminal. everything fine. started root process and as soon as i ran CF-Auto-Root it started its thing and rather pretty quickly a new screen came up reading in red letters "Device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and may not work properly." for maybe one second before shutting off. i can briefly get it to power up, only to get that same screen. a couple times i did have it back in bootloader mode through ADB from the terminal. but nothing since. the few times i did get bootloader up i tried a recovery process from the site referred by the error screen itself here: https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/6185381?p=verified_boot&rd=1
but when i ran fastboot oem unlock it now says it cannot find device and tells me to go into device and change OEM setting in developer tools. kind of tough when it wont boot up. i sure would love a solution to this one, id appreciate any help..
added: on the device in bootloader mode it reads USB connected but on the laptop will not recognize any connected devices?

I am no expert, but it seems like you are having the exact same problem that this person had. It seems that the guide will not work on 6.0, but luckily, he seems to have found a solution.
