[Q] SNES D-pad not working - TouchPad Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm trying to connect a SNES controller through USB from a hub to my TP. When connected, the TP sees the controller and I can map all the buttons except for the D-pad. Has anyone else tried this? I tried this on the latest cm9 nightly and a previous build of SCHIZOID.

Perhaps the D-Pad input is being presented as a joystick or POV hat instead of buttons. Plug your SNES adaptor into a PC and see if you can map it on there.

Thanks for the reply. I should probably clarify on a few things that I've tried.
My set up is this: TP -> USB OTG cable -> USB Y Cable -> hub -> SNES controller (I'll try to post a picture when I get home)
The above setup will work on my phone (note II). All the buttons would map correctly, even the DPAD UP, DPAD DOWN, DPAD RIGHT, and DPAD LEFT.
The USB OTG cable + SNES controller will work on my phone since it's self powered.

I can not connect gamepad with touchpad build of SCHIZOID.but mouse and keyboard are okay.
I try to find and i know kernel isn't included joydev.ko.then I download joydev.ko of Galaxy S2,copy into touchpad
I use terminal to run:
su
insmod joydev.ko.
result is "Exec format error"
Can anyone tell me how to connect gamepad with touchpad?
Thanks.

usb keybord AND mouse

hi everyone. I woukd love to be able to plug a usb mouse and
keyboard into my ameo at the same time. I am wondering how the ameo willdeal with 2 usb devices. I shall find a hub and try
Yes. It should do. Afterall it could be a keyboard with an integrated trackball etc. So they hub should sort it out. They are cheap anyway.
you can use a usb mouse and a BT keyboard
Used a HUB
I plugged both USB keyboard and mouse into USB hub - plugged Hub into Advantage and it worked perfectly.
So
Now I need to find extra small and cheap USB keyboard and mouse
Need them super small....and a small 2 - 1 USB hub......
How to see mouse pointer?

Sorry how did you solve the problem with mouse pointer?
I did this in another post.

I uploaded a file on page "2" I think. Install this and you will have the function you need.
Remember the search button is your friend
I just did a search on AMEO forums for "Mouse" and this link came up.

Get one of those soft foldable keyboard.....that's how i do it and it only cost me $3.5 USD.......
I'm not sure what country you're in, but in the UK, ASDA (the supermarket) is selling micro hubs for about £8. Its about 1"x1" and has 4 ports. Not sure if it supports additional power (external adapter or batteries) but I think it looks well for this task.
How ?
Just curious: how can I connect an hub to Athena ? Withou passing a PC ?
Please answer.
Thanks in advance
You need the 4-1 cable available from all good HTC suppliers. You would then run the USB connector that comes with the hub to go from the hub to the 4 in 1 cable.
i.e.
USBKB-------H
```````````U`` ---------- 4 in 1 cable ------- AMEO.
USBMSE----- ``B
Excuse the `'s the forums doesnt like multiple spaces - it removes them.
Thanks
Even more curious: can you be more specific (with a file attach), please ?
And if I manage to connect an hub, can I use a card reader, an external disk , etc. ?
Thanks
Use Bluemouse for the by mouse. The Modaco one is for the USB MOUSE
if you upgrade to WM6 it has built-in drivers for the mouse pointer. Much more straightforward.
Try the Keysonic Nano - only about 20 cm long! You can get one for about 20quid with postage from Amazon.
I use a USB mouse and keyboard with a small 4-port HUB which I got from Poundland last week and they pick up and work fine, however you can also use multiple BT devices too, or any combination.
[Q] Joystick
By now I would think most of you have seen the ingenious homemade snes mod video(if not check it out on youtube(snes dell streak) ).I was wondering if I used a female/female usb adapter,if I could use my standard usb joystick in its stead???
Thanks
The Home dock supports USB input, you can plug a keyboard, mouse, not sure about joystick, but for SNES gaming I use the Wii mote with an attached classic controller, works wonders.
don't know if your theory about female/female adapter works, I'm guessing you're plugging it to your regular USB cable. I believe the cable is just for charging/syncing, you will need a usb Host which is in the home dock :s
Wii mote seems like an ideal option. But that is up to you.
Can't get USB gamepad to work
I just got Samsung's OEM 30 pin to usb adapter in the mail (yay!) to use with my USB controller for emulators. Sadly, I can't figure out how to get it to work. I have the Logitech F310 controller, and when I plug it in, my Tab does say "USB device connected." However, emulators aren't recognizing any button presses.
Also, the "mode" button on the controller doesn't light up when I push it. I'm wondering if either it's not supplying 5V of power to the controller or if I need some sort of app/driver for it. The adapter does work with my flash drive, though.
From my experience most emulators require a physical button press, even when I use my sixaxis controller I have to give each button a keyboard value (like R1 is actually like pressing 0 on keyboard) that's the only way the emulator knows you are pushing a button.... maybe there is a program to map your controller buttons to key values, back in the day I remember using a program in windows called joytokey that allowed me to use my usb computer joypad in dosbox, maybe you can dig around and see if there is an android equivalent for usb controllers... if not you can always use a wiimote or sixaxis, as long as you have a custom rom installed like CM7 (which I am running), they wont pair on stock rom because the bluetooth stack doesn't support them.
SGT+CM7=:-D
PS2 Keyboard and Mouse with Nook HD+?
Not sure if this would be the right forum, but I'll try anyway.
I've rooted my Nook HD+ and now I'm running CyanogenMod 10.2.1. and managed to connect some USB devices(a mouse for instance), which work fine. However, I want to use a keyboard and since, at the moment, I don't have a USB one, I tried connecting a PS2 keyboard, using a USB to PS2 converter. The lights on the keyboard turn on, but the keyboard itself isn't working. I tried a PS2 Mouse as well. Again, it lights up, meaning that it is receiving power from the tablet, but you can't actually use it! So, what exactly is the problem here? When I did have the chance to use a USB mouse and keyboard, they worked fine. It's not an Android thing either. Apparently you can connect a PS2 keyboard and mouse to a Nexus 7, running Android 4.2 and they'll work just fine. I don't think it's because of the Nook's hardware, considering that the devices do turn on, when you plug them in. The USB to PS2 converter also isn't the problem, because the keyboard and mouse work fine, when I plug them into the PC. I suppose CyanogenMod doesn't have drivers for PS2 devices? If that's the case, is there any way I could find and install some? If an older version of Android could handle them, I don't see why this OS shouldn't.
Thanks.
Question Screen broken, Displaylink Trouble
Hi,
I am trying to rescue my friends S21. He needs it's content (pics, contacts etc). The screen is totally crashed (he left it on cars roof) I have a Dell Displaylink adapter hooked up to it with USB C. HDMI to my TV shows the lock screen and I have tried to connect wired USB Keyboard, wired Mouse and also a wireless Logitech unified to the Displaylinks USB output.. but I get no reaction and can't access the phone. I have the pin code etc, but right now there is no way I can enter anything. Any ideas what I can try? If I could just have enabled USB debugging I could have used my PC and that program that I can't remember the name of that control both screen and keyboars via USB c.
Kind regards
Tommy
