Google Son Of a ***** killed LTE - Nexus 4 General

Update 4.2.2 removes LTE capabilities from the Nexus 4.
It worked like a charm for me and all others.
So, don't update and let's see what fix we can find for this

Please read before posting.

Please Read Before You Post!

READ! READ! READ! SEARCH! SEARCH! SEARCH! There are at least 10 threads in this forum that didnt have to be started if people just read other threads.. or if they posted in related threads that already exist.. So what if you have to read through 20 or 30 pages worth of crap.. I know I do before I post something.. or at least search first and if I cant find anything then read a thread page by page.. you'd be surprised how much information you'll get out of it..
Read the dev threads, read the general threads.. you'll find that most of these issues have been discussed already.. so add to to existing threads.. we dont need 20 threads all saying "I'm in a CWR loop" Or "HELP AFTER THE UPDATE I CANT BOOT"
Just please take the time to read... not only are you doing yourself a favor but you are doing us more experienced guys who are trying to help a favor and saving us time.. I mean it's easier for a community to help if there is just ONE thread about an issue we have to read through as opposed to 10 or 20 threads all discussing related issues
Thanks!
EDIT: I COUNTED 10 THREADS ON THE FIRST PAGE ALONE THAT ARE PRETTY MUCH THE SAME ISSUE OR VERY SIMILAR ISSUES.. SERIOUSLY?!?!? IS THAT MANY REALLY NECESSARY?
Thanks for this. Its like beating a dead horse.

Just to put my bit over as we all know people do not use the search before posting and yes i agree there are to many posts of the same subject but mainly about people thinking they have bricked there device
So what i will do for a trial period is, I have stuck a thread called
I Bricked my Dell Streak 7, Please help
Now when a new post with someone having problems is posted i will leave the post for 2 days so people can help then after that it will get merged with the above thread
I have merged 6 posts with the above thread so far.
So lets see how this goes and any problems or ideas you have please feel free to PM me

HTC Hero root with unrevoked?

First of all, I am SORRY if these questions have been asked before, but I can't find them.
I have 1successfully rooted my EVO with unrevoked. Now my brother wants me to do his Sprint HTC Hero
Here are my questions.
I see that there is an download, but his radio is 2.42.02.10.29 and this is not listed. Is this an issue?
Is there a downside to having to use this unrevoked forever?
All that he wants is to do is get a bigger SD card so that he can move his apps off his phone and put more on his SD card. Is this possible? Even without rooting?
Thanks
This should be in q&a not in development.
Mods please place in correct thread. Also if you go to unrevoked's website I'm sure you will find more info there to address your concerns regarding the radio. Also try google searching it should have more than enough info to help you out as well. I've never used that method of rooting but I'm sure you will receive better responses if you post your questions in the proper thread.
#Root/Hack-Mod_Always*
I have tried google and I have gone to the Unrevoked website before I came here. I have not found the answers to my question, that is why I came here. If you had directed me to the proper thread (as you suggested) maybe my problem would be solved.
You are a senor member and I am new here. Remember we come here for help, not condescending responses.
Of course he can get a new sd card, but moving apps to sd requires root... As for the root, the method your talking about only works with the .29 radio, so to get s off you would need to downgrade the radio to .27 using RUU and then root, if you want.
Edit: you can then upgrade the radio after you s off unrevoke it. Theres a flashable .29.
Edit 2: there are much simpler root methods, I created a thread full of links, click my name and check it out.
Edit 3: damn laie, you gettin cold bro...
Puzzled how so??? Never used the mod so I can't give advice. So I suggested the next best thing. But I know your on xda as much if not more than I so I knew you would lend a hand. But until you did he might have found the answer to his question on the website or threw google. And he did post his question in the development thread not q&a I just asked the mods to move it to the right thread so he would receive better help. Don't think that's mean at all. By the way how did you like my name suggestion???
#Root/Hack-Mod_Always*
Well mostly I was just messing with you. I have done the same thing, told a mod to move the thread (by using the report feature) and then left a slightly more mean response lol. The only difference is the mod pmed me. He told me to just answer the question, report the thread, etc. No big deal, really I was just messing. Are you thickening your skin for the idiocy in the 3D forum? I am

Since this thread has gotten WAY off topic, I would like to THANK the people that have tried to help me and answer my questions, both publicly, (Il duce), and privately.
You guys rock. Thanks for the kind words and letting me know that not everyone on here is an *******.
I think people get a little too high and mighty on this site and forget it is a FORUM that people come to for HELP.
Recommendations such as being referred to google, and telling me what I am doing incorrectly without giving advice, like mean, rude people in general, well simply SUCK.
Thanks again to the good guys. We rule!
Dude if you post in the wrong forum some one here will tell you. You posted in the development froum. Your question clearly had nothing to do with development. Thats why its a q&a thread to post a question and to receive an answer. And if your modifying your phone google is your best friend. This is good advice. Had you had posted your question in q&a there would have been nothing to post about what you did wrong. And as far as being referred to google everything that duce or even myself would have told you would be on google. Its been many, many members who have had the same problems and most if not all have been solved. In my opinion in most cases google search is much quicker than reading threw thousands of post. In short glad you got it worked out.

...... the force is strong with this one
This is the forum where I posted:
HTC Hero - CDMA Hero CDMA - Q&A HTC- Hero root with unrevoked?
Just for my own edification...
Please tell me where this refers to a DEVELOPMENT forum (whatever that means) and why the Q&A section on the title of this forum is not a place where I can ask a question?
The first thing I did was apologized if I was doing this wrong.
I tried to start all over again and I still ended up at this forum.
How would I know it was not the right one?
what on earth are you talking about

Dude, I came her for help...what on earth are YOU talking about..how does this nonsense about listening and you resisting help anyone at all? Why are you commenting on my thread and not helping?
Please..if you are going to say something..say something that helps me and anyone else with the same problem.
mike, you originally posted in develpment. It was moved to Q&A leaving no traces in development. so when you looked after the fact you were already moved....make sense?

[Q] Non-rooted Update for AT&T Cappy?

I posted this in the General forum & it was promptly closed & I was asked to search in this forum for an answer. Well, that didn't go so well as all I came up with was numerous posts of how to root my phone, which is exactly what I don't want to do. So, hopefully this will not be closed out as well.
I must admit that I tired of chasing AT&T & Samsung as to when the Gingerbread update would be available awhile back.
Then I saw an ad on TV that I'm pretty sure was for AT&T but another Android-based phone & they were hyping that the phone was equipped w/Android OS 4.0 so that it now rivaled the 'iCrap' phone.
Would someone please set me straight on which legit OS's have or are soon to be released () for the Cappy, or any new Samsung phone at that!
Thanks!
As far as Gingerbread for the Captivate well, Rogers released it for their i896 not to long ago, and so all we can do is hope for at&t to release it for us soon.
That's really all we know as far as the Captivate is concerned. This has been discussed over and over and that is why your previous thread was closed by the Forum Moderator.
As far as ICS...
Here ya go... http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...ream-sandwich-for-galaxy-s-and-tab-after-all/
As far as other Samsung phones, it would probably be better to find info on that through Google as opposed to here in the Captivate Forums.
I just googled it and found an entire page of articles in the past month or so with exactly what you're looking for. So so so much easier than making a post.

Thanks much for the link, which was quite heavily redacted )). Your point is well taken about just doing a Google search than posting here. Besides, I don't need someone telling me to go searching through the forum posts as my question has been asked many times before. I used to have a friend connected w/XDA that I could PM for scoops & ask questions like I posted here & he was always happy to help. Unfortunately, he's gone missing!

Giving thanks to all the devs on XDA!

There are a lot of these out there but I want to just say thanks to all the Devs on xda. I have been a member here for a longtime and the answer is always here regardless of make or model.
I recently got in the AT&T Samsung Note and in roughly 10 minutes I was able to root the device and install Google Now all by doing a few simple searches. XDA is the reason I left my iPhone 3G and I have never looked back.
Thanks Again!

Maybe XDA should start to implement a new feature for new members - they have to read a selection of tributes to XDA written by the existing members. This post should be one of them - maybe it would actually make the newbies realise that it is possible to search and not just demand to be spoon-fed the answers.
No matter how many threads you make people read, they still still post stupid threads. I mean honestly one could argue that the OP's thread is just as pointless as threads asking questions that could be found by searching.
And honestly searching is not that easy. I tried looking for a boot animation in the Note forums and it took me like 5 minutes just to find that forum in the search window while scrolling thru every device and praying I didn't skip it.
If I were going to make new members read a specific post, it would be this one:

I do agree this thread is fairly pointless, which is why I wanted to start it way out of the way in the very general category that it is in. And the search tool in the forum is a bit quirky but if you combine that with the use of Google you can pretty much find what you are looking for (xda usually comes up first on any cell phone related google search I do).
But the point here was just to say thanks.

I feel you bro, no worries.
And you're right, persistent search usually yields results.
I want to thank all the devs as well, especially, rasroygbiv, for his post on the " Melchizedek aosp ics", very stable, and nice. I am running it on a htc inspire.
Thanks to all ya'll.... for made my phone awsome...

Instead of opening a new thread or posting in a thread in a forum the dev is not likely to ever see, please feel free to press the thanks button for the dev several times instead of posting "Thanks for a great ROM" here or in their thread.
Rate the dev's thread with 5 stars using the rate dropdown button at the top of every page of the thread.
If you feel that is not sufficient, most devs have a donate button with Paypal. I promise you that they will remember you and appreciate you far more for donating even a couple of dollars versus some post, however gushingly approving, on their ROM thread.

[ROOT] Sprint Galaxy S4 L720TVPUBNC6 WiFi Calling Update!

Info only, but I searched, and didn't come up with anything. I took it upon myself to run the CF AutoRoot for the L720TVPUBNAF for the Tri-Band Sprint SPH-L720T.
I can report it works. If I missed a thread, I apologize! Hopefully this catches some Google hits for the masses.
But wanted to share the knowledge in an easy to find place. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your experience. I know some will say it is already posted and it is, but it is hard to find due to you having the T version.
Its been confirmed about 2 or 3 times. Thanks for sharing though.
