Hi, sorry if this is a noob question, but whenever someone sends me a picture message, why do i receive it as a video, even when its not a video. Also the picture and video size is very small when viewing it... any help is appreciated..thank you.

What ROM are you running? Stock or custom ROM. Also what carrier

I'm running MeDroid - v6.1 - 7.2. My carrier is Mobilicity.

Not too familiar with that ROM or carrier but look to see if you have any kind of settings to change User's Agent. Look in the stock messaging app.

I do have an option to change user agent...which one shouls I use?

Find a device that you know is an official phone for your carrier. Nokia N95 work for most.

Ics contacts

Once again. Did not present it properly. Why all ics roms have smudgy pics unlike in Miui which have beautiful contact pics ?
And all ics has same dialer but if I take a number down while on phone and write a digit wrong for instance then how do i delete and correct and then save to contacts ? This way Smybian was nice. Like LED notification was in all Nokias ages ago while I have to hunt for an app like Noled !

PA 2.57.4 - contact problems

Hi,
Im currently using PA 2.57.4 by Utacka. A very great and stunning rom. However, i cant find the contact chooser for sms messaging, its very uncomfortable go type everyone's first few numbdrs to get the suggestion. And also gou cant copy the contact phone number if you open kt as a pop up.
Can you pleasr guide me how to solve these problems? Thanks!

did you try posting your query in the rom thread ? maybe others using the rom facing same problem ?

Well to be honest i dont have enough permission to post there.. I dont want to spam for posts, so i havent reached 10 posts yet. I think many guys are facing this issue but just ecause i use this function like everyday so its a little irritating...

Just returned to PA 2.57.4 Utacka's ROM after going back to stock to await upgrade. Not sure I understand the problem ? If I want to send a message I choose the message icon from the dock. On the page that opens I choose the message with a + in the lower left corner, which opens a keypad, any letter I type brings up a list with that letter from my contacts list. Choosing from that list starts a message to be sent. I can also get to the type a message screen straight from my contacts list by selecting the message + icon next to the contact name. Is this what is missing for you?

[Q] Missing Functionality in CM

My N7000 was becoming unusably slow so on a recommendation elsewhere, I installed CM. I was quite surprised at how basic some of the apps are & now have some specific issues.
I have lost the ability to scale text size in both messaging & email apps. Text size can be altered globally but making it big enough to read without glasses in text messages makes it unusable in general use. I've found an alternative messaging app but not email.
Colours in the calendar app are all rendered so dark as to be indistinguishable from each other. I can't find any options to change this like there was in the stock ROM.
So my question is can I somehow install the Samsung versions of these apps or do I have to trawl the Play store looking for alternatives? Or better still, is there a ROM that retains these features?
Hopefully this won't fall foul of the Best ROM rule!

Just installed it & in the process discovered that it supports pinch zooming. Never occurred to me to try the default mail app & that does too! But for some reason the messaging app doesn't but I've installed Big Text SMS that both gives me large text & TTS.

That's because cyanogen mod is based on AOSP and most apps do not have any value add or customizations to allow for what you need.

Still searching for a solution to the calendar colour issues. Changing the colour of a calendar on the device workd for milliseconds before it reverts to the very dark, indistinguishable colours. I really don't want to have to duplicate every app on the phone with one that works.
I'm also getting really annoying Mobile Broadcast messages every few minutes telling me which cell I'm connected to & can't find anywhere to switch them off. The N7000 section of Cyanogen's own forum seems to be a ghost town so no point posting there.

Custom Text notification soundbytes for Contacts

Hi... I am pretty sure this is a general Samsung Galaxy line question, but I own the FE so I hope it's OK that I post my question here. A couple of years back Samsung removed the ability to pick a custom text notification soundbyte for numbers in your Contacts (the setting was in CONTACTS, just under the ability to pick a custom ringtone for CONTACTS. It upset a lot of folks (certainly I'm one of them), and I know there are several posts out there on other sites to this effect. Is there is anything that can be done? I didn't see any question/answers on this topic in XDA so far, but I'm hoping (praying) that someone here knows of or has a fix to remedy this? Samsung eventually did eventually put in a way to put a custom soundbyte to "Conversations" in the "Messages" text app but it's not the same thing. If a person has a one on one conversation with a contact, then this option for Samsung works fine. But if that same person becomes part of a group text, then the custom soundbyte does not work/apply since that contact is now in a different conversation. (It DID work the old way before Samsung dropped it). I'm told there "was" an app that solved this problem ("there's an app for everything"), but I can't find it and it may have been discontinued. Anyone know of a way to do this again? An app or Mod? Please? Calling Samsung on this issue is an exercise in futility, since the reps that answer don't always much more that the scripts they are provided. Thank you all in advance
