I have problems with the headset mic when I have tried cm 10.1 roms. The other person can't hear me.
Same problem with bluetooth headsets, but here we also have other sound quality issues. Listen to music on Spotify is a big NO No.
Anyone else with the same problem? What headset work or does not work?

The default wired headset should be fine but the built in mic and Bluetooth mics are rubbish due to a few issues, in my experience Liquid Smooth is a bit better with the built in mic but the wired mic should be flawless on both.

hi
Its my first post here and i will try to explain my problem.
I have a note n7000 wich have an out of order sim support. Its not a problem for me because i use it as little tablet.
I tested some kernels and rom from xda and i actually use crash rom v10 with 240 dpi mod and speedmod kernel v13.
Since a couple of day i try to use s voice and others but it seems that no sound is recognize. It try soundhound and same problem.
Vocal memo included in the rom doesn t record any sound too.
So i thought my micro was out but it works perfectly in camera mode.....
Does any one have an idea ?
Have you tried microphone operation with a headset? Best to rule out where the problem lies.

Not a solution, just to verify if it's hardware or software.

With headset microphone all seems to work normaly.
Without headset skype and video are working well.
With the microphone headset, in soundmeter apk the initial sound level is about -8 -9db and it move normaly to 50 or 70 db when talking or whatelse.
Without the headset initial value is at -50db and doesn't move....
Using camera with headset get no sound in movie.
I don't understand anything.

The fact that it's working fine without headset on Skype suggests its not hardware related. What rom are you on?

I am on crash rom v10 lr1 lrt with speedmod 13 kernel
Have you posted in the crash rom thread? I would suggest its a rom issue.

Hi everyone,
I'm having a little problem with my Galaxy Ace lately. When I play music on it, it plays just fine through the speaker, no problem whatsoever. However, if I connect my headphones, the music is really weird/just not right. There is no bass and there's an echo.
Another thing: If I connect my computer's speakers (3.5mm audio jack as well), it plays the music just fine like through its own speaker.
Wat could be the problem here?
Aditional info:
Galaxy Ace rooted, no OC (stock 800mhz), CM10.1 20130513 from Maclaw.
I have no other problems whatsoever with the rom.
My friend has a nokia E series phone. When i tried plugging his headphones. I got the same problem. The sound gets muffled and only music can be heard. Try using a different earphone and see if that works.

Thanks for the tip, another pair of earphones seemed to work. Is there a reason why my Ace won't accept both Nokia earphones I tried?
Hello, I installed Omar Avelar's ROM, since I did this I can't hear music from other earphones rather than Motorola's stock ones. Any idea how to fix this?

I have a slightly different issue. I'm also using Omar's ROM. My headphones normally work fine but if I receive a call whilst the headphones are plugged in and unplug the headphones to take the call, when I plug the headphones back in the volume is very quiet in the right hand earpiece. The left hand one is normal. I use poweramp for music playback btw.
The problem just fixes itself eventually. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

To fix my issue I had to install SoundAbout

Hi all,
Today I've tried to use Skype video calling and it works perfectly regarding video, but my audio is incredibly quiet and going trough top speaker only, same as when I do regular phone call. So if I want to see someone during talk, I barely hear him. If I plug earphones, it is fantastic.
so, is there anyway to enable both speakers during Skype video call?
I'm running stock HTC One with all latest updates. Skype is also updated.
Thnx 4 help.

I'm having the same issue, not sure if it's a bug in the Skype but I always felt the app is has lots of bugs.
Any news about this? When can we expect speakerphone option?

Hey all,
I'm in need of help again, I've had a strange issue as of late (since updating to 4.4) when I'm playing music through my headphones if I turn the volume up too loud the audio stutters in the right headphone and then cuts out, I've tried with 4 pairs of in ear headphones (Stock Xperia Z headphones, stock I9300 headphones, soundmagic e10, and seinnheiser CX-400 II precisions) all with the same effect.
I'm currently running the latest nightly AOKP (4.4) and MEOW Kernel 2.02.04 and have tried a variety of kernel/ROM combo's all with the same outcome, could it possibly be a hardware issue or is this a general 4.4 issue as of late? Because I can't seem to find any posts specifically about my type of problem.
Thanks in advance!

Its a cm11 bug I believe. Nothing to do with your hardware.
Try installing viper , that should help until there's a fix >>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
