[Kernel] Devil - 4.2.x (only cm) - 4.3 test build on page 36 and 38

This kernel is based off cm kernel sources for jellybean 4.2.x
Features (this list might not be complete):
- linux 3.0.62
- selective live_oc (tweaked for maximum performance and stability)
- touchwake
- bln v9
- bld
- deep idle
- properly fixed minimum freq 100 mhz (or live_oc freq.) while gpu not active
- Zram
- ported zram for android (from samsung source of S3)
- Zcache
- Cleancache
- Frontswap
- lowmemorykiller update
- latest tweaks to row io scheduler
- interactive governor from linux 3.4
- "smoot_ui" for most of the governors (this pushes cpu speed to max, when touching the screen)
- three different profiles for most of the cpu governors (presets for tunables)
- vibration control for hardware keys

I tried to flash it with CWM but it returned error...
I'm under SlimBean ROM 4.2.1 with 2.9.9s Semaphore Kernel...
Isn't this kernel suitable for my phone???

SlimBean is not CM based, so this kernel is not compatible.

Dev it will be awesome if we can control kernel via app.. Don't you think? Kernels like faux trinity and others it will be awesome.. Really smooth kernel.

Nexus s works little differently. It's a pure Google phone. The slim bean for Nexus s is aosp based and not cm based. But it could be little different for your phone.

I thought devil kernel manager is working. Strange it isn't... I can't test myself, as you know, I don't own a nexus. Maybe I can modify make an app soon

For most options the app says when applying settings the directory in /sys/ can't be created or no such file or directory.
The settings don't get stored.
Still it is snappy with out adjusting.

just wondering if anyone is working on any overclocking kernels to make our devices super btemb was talking siyah but he seemed to witched sides lool

If you register at yank555 forum you can download yank kernel for aosp.

I'd love to see Perseus Kernel or Adam Kernel ported to AOSP

I9000 cm10.1 with speed kernel:?

Hello guys.
I am about to use cm10.1. I would like to make my phone faster but overclock is rebooting my phone too often, also it gets hot really easily. Is there anything 'speed kernel compatible with cm10 / up ?

Semaphore kernel is compatible and fast
however, you have to play with the governors and scheduler to change speed without overclocking (also in stock kernel)

Could u give me a link about a thread that includes the kernel and the way how to set it up? I haven't done kernel change for ages..
And amm.. I don't mind overclocking but if I have to, I need one that does not reboot every 3rd minute...

[Q] Kernel based on 3.4 or higher

Hallo,
I want to ask the devs if there ideas to build kernels based on higher kernel versions. My former phone (S plus) had a 3.4 kernel which had good influences on performance.

Kernels can only be built if the source is released .

But I guess the sources of the kernels are open since these are Linux kernels. Anyway the devs of the S plus also managed this. So it should be possible for the S3 too.

Yeah, you're right. Devs in Galaxy S Plus i9001 built the 3.4 Kernel, but it was not easy and took several months to build stable kernel.
First kernels were built on LKA sources and they switched to CAF.
They also built BIGMEM kernels - Standard kernel RAM was ~350MB and with BIGMEM kernel it could go to 370 (still all was working) and 390 MB (in this case 720p recording was broken).

I know that all. My former phone was a S plus.
They really made a great job. So could it be possible to use the sources of the developer team and port them to the S3.
The 3.4 kernel runs so well. Its really great

Which Kernel is the best for KitKat?

Hello. I tested many Roms and Kernels and i cant choose one. I'm using Cm11 but i think its kernel is slow. Semaphore? Mackay? CyanoCore? Meybe any other? Which Kernel you preffer?

I prefer Semaphore. Good kernel with many options, bigmem etc. CM 11 work fast on it.

I've used Mackay since... Well, a long time. The reason I prefer it over Semaphore is its capability to send MMS. I can't send them with Sema, though a good kernel it is otherwise.

Download the 0.607 mackay kernel version from here:

It is compatible with all roms based on cm :laugh:

I recommend u Mackay Kernel 0.607 works best on CM11
