App storage problem after synergy rom install - Motorola Droid Bionic

Ok I just flashed the synergy rom on my bionic and I am a complete newb to this stuff. I was reinstalling my apps which I had on my phone previously and now it says there is insufficient storage space. Why dont I have the space? When I installed the rom I remember clicking something with 1gb but I could have chose 2gb or 3gb. What was that?

Safe strap allows you to choose the partition size 1,2 or 3 gb. When you chose a 1gb partition that was the amount of space you gave the rom to store apps. You need to reflash with a 2gb or 3gb partition so you have the space you need or you can get rid of that app you haven't used in 6 months

That app is not compatible. You need a much faster cpu and ram for it to work.
Why that particular error? Who knows? Ask Google. But it will not work on your G1 so just give it up.
It depends on the internal storage indicator, I have 1gb of apps2sd but if your internal storage is like 20mb it doesn't matter wether you have 2 or 20gb it has to do with the internal storage because your g1 doesn't care much for apps2sd indicator.
If I install too many apps and my apps2sd partition goes from 1gb to 527mb and my internal storage goes from 87.43mb to 32.45mb and I then try to install iron sight wich is like 20mb you would think it works but it will say no room available so install the big boy apps first and small penis apps second.

[Q] Extending internal storage space..

Hey guys and gals,
Recently flashed AlRoger's CM10.1 ROM, I love it. Great ROM, awesome.
However I have a problem and that is the space I have for apps. In the "Storage" section of settings; I have 3 areas. Internal Storage (around 250mb) Internal storage (around 13/14gb) and external storage around (14gb).
Problem is, the smaller internal space is what is used for apps; and as you can imagine, after installing just a few apps it was full. At the moment I have used the built in android Move to SD feature which moves some of the apps data to the other internal partition. But I want more REAL space.
I have tried using INT2EXT+ but when partitioning with MiniTool, a "Blank SD" notification comes up and I can't do nothing and am forced to reformat it. When I partition with TWRP it fails to mount the new SD-Ext it makes. So INT2EXT+ isn't working...
Is there any other way I can extend my internal storage (/data???) partition using preferably the larger internal storage?? If necessary I can use the external but of course, I would prefer to use the internal simply for ease of taking the External SD card out if I ever need to.
Sorry if this has been covered but I can't find nothing.
Thanks in advance,
Roo.
What ROM you previous have?
Something is not right with your partitions.
You should have around 1.87 for the first internal storage (system, cache, data)
And around 12.81 for internal SD
You must have come from an older cm10 in the period when there was an "old MTD" partition, pre April-2012, then without restocking you installed alroger's .
Restock to GB, then install cwm kernel, and reinstall ROM again.

I came from MIUI v4. And no I didn't restock.
Will restock and reflash CM10.1, thanks a lot for the help mate.
Will report back if it is successful.

Thank you so much mate, have managed to get it to work after restocking. Now have 1.9gb for apps!
Thanks again,

[Q] Internal Storage Missing 4GB

I am missing roughly 3 to 4GB of space on my internal storage. Long story short -- flashed cm11.0_golden.nova.20141127.ODIN_TWRP the first couple of tries it failed mainly due to me not knowing how to enter into recovery mode. After about 4 or 5 tries I figured it out and all was well. Then I notice a large chunk of my internal storage is missing. I enter recovery mode and format all internal storage. I gain a few hundred MB. I cannot see those missing GB of space at all. My best guess is that those first few unsuccessful attempts at flashing the rom are still there in the internal storage taking the space I am missing. Is there any way to repartition the internal storage? I have used all of the methods available to me with TWRP and have had no success in gaining that storage back. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Guessing you have S3 mini soo i have same "issue" it's actually the phone itself takes around 3-4 GB i have usable 4.64 gb and i have 8GB model.
So is this just the normal amount of space taken up by the system? And yes mine is an 8GB model also.
Yes guys it's normal if you have 4GB.
4GB for system and 4GB for user
When i look at how much storage total it lists 4.72GB. For available space it shows 4.27GB. Will the 4GB taken up by the system not be shown? I just figured that it would list close to 8GB total with X amount taken by system. Im pretty sure this is how it was before I flashed the phone.

Could it be the missing 4GB is the partition of the system? I am using stock ROM also can only access about 4GB for saving files and apps. Maybe the CM11 itself using 4GB for OS process and pre-installed/bloatware apps? Just my guest.
You can try to reach the missing space using 3rd party apps such as XDA File Manager. BUT, I wont dare to do anything to the 'hidden files', as I know it could damage your system. That's why they made it invisible to normal/average user (like me). Unless you know what and which files to be played with.

But, what's the actual space occupied by the system files? We could try to resize "system partition" to gain some gb on "data partition"?

I'm also interested in repartitioning it, I successfully made it for a Galaxy S2 and my Note N7000... I used a specific pit file flashed with Odin... is there any pit file for GT-I8190 8 Gb? Thanks in advance!

Im not sure about CM11, but with Slimrom is about 1.23GB. You can see this using Titanium Backup in the overview.

I can't live with 4GB, is there anyway to free up more space?

I can't live with 4GB, is there anyway to free up more space?
I even tried using the App2SD app, but those require me to reboot the phone to mount the SD card after rebooting, apps don't update properly as well, etc.... and it's just so much hassle.
There's so much crapware that HTC puts in too. Is there any solution or ROM out there that remove all the crapware AND "recovers" the space and make it available to the user? Right now, on a fresh hard reset I have about 1 GB free, which is really not enough since installing apps takes up almost all of that space.

You should have an option within the "settings ~ storage" somewhere to select that the phone should use the sd card as space, at least the stock rom does.. And we're never getting the space back and I have no idea what made HTC do what they did on all the partitions because that's why we have no space.. For instance the Radio.img firmware is on it's own partition mmcblk0p20 it's only using a total of 43.4MB and then it has 156MB free space just sitting there with nothing to use it and they have partitions for everything not just the radio and most of the partitions are a total of 199MB and at the least there's 150MB free on every single partition but like I've told others we are never going to get that space freed up and I have no idea what made HTC do something that stupid!!
AndroAsc,
I have the same device and the same ROM. (3.4.43 pattyboi kernel, I assume you are the same)
I use the free version of Link2SD with a ext4 partition of 4GB. I achieved the partition using the Aparted app because it's convenient and the card can stay in the device during format. Once Link2SD is installed, choose the format of your second partition (ext4) and reboot. Now go to Link2SD settings, check the box "autolink", and in autolink settings check all the boxes except "Link internal data." DO NOTHING ELSE! Do not "move apps to SD" or "Link internal data" because this will effect updates, cause disappearing apps, etc. However, if you set it up like this it will work.
I have a ton of apps and games on my device and have never had a low space warning. My storage space hovers around the 275-350MB free mark at all times.

MrMike.. I have seen you around the forums. I've been reading and learning from xda for a long time, (Since the HTC Thunderbolt days) but never signed up until now. Thanks for your contributions.

Thanks!
Every time I try to uninstall the programs listed under the Link2SD column, my phone restarts by itself and upon opening L2SD again, everything I removed is back in place.
What's going on here?
I know this was while ago now, but did you have trouble with Link2SD mounting at startup? I formatted as ext4, but regardless of which mount option I pick when the app loads, it says it can't mount at startup. I can't seem to get away from that message.

Storage space running out

Hi
Not sure if anyone is still looking at this forum but here goes.
Can anyone tell me why my GT-N7000 keeps reporting "Storage space running out" when there seems to be a fair bit of space left according to Windows Explorer?
Card
4.73 GB free of 29.7 GB
Phone
8.76 GB free of 10.9 GB
I tried deleting a few apps but this made no difference. Today I uninstalled an app and then tried to re-install it but the system told me there was insufficient space.
Trevor
Check the data storage space... The one that's about 1.97 GB. That's where the apps get stored.

Thanks for the reply.
Can you be a bit more specific about where I would look for the data storage space? Also, how do we know that the folder would be about that size?
Trevor
Settings storage.. If the space is running out then you will need to delete some apps or repartition.
