There is a weird and annoying bug in XXLSC and XXLSZ's stock Music Player (and Google Play Music in XXLSZ).
In XXLSC, all my music was in /sdcard/Music, like it was in ICS (and it was fine there), but the stock Music Player said 'No songs'. Nothing I did (including restarting the app, restarting the phone, renaming the folder to 'music' and 'MUSIC') worked.
A similar problem occurs in XXLSZ. When I turn the phone on, the stock Music Player says 'No songs'. But when I open Google Play Music which is installed by default, 8 of my 12 songs are displayed. When I switch back to the stock Music Player, it also displays the 8 songs. It's really annoying that I can't get all my songs on the app.
What can I do to fix this in XXLSZ?
You can resolve installing Rocket Player, it find all media

This is odd. I have just for the first time copied my .mp3 music files from my PC to the SGS but for some odd reason it says this file type is not supported when I try to play them in the music player (I have the stock and Gingerbread ones). The only way I can play them is via YxPlayer which is a multi format video media player. I thought all MP3's were the same. Any ideas?
Edit: Fixed with a re-boot. Still odd why it did this though
I've had Perception 10.1 on my phone for quite a while now, and overall I like it (that's why its been on my phone for months and months now). But yesterday I got some voicemails that I downloaded from Gmail and they were saved as mp3 format files. The built in music player refuses to play them. It just gives me the message that the music player doesnt support that file format. I thought this was completely strange. So I put a couple of music mp3's on the sd card, and the built in music player wont play those either. Does anybody have a solution to this? What music player wouldnt play mp3's, thats crazy?? I know for a fact that the music player that was in an earlier version of Cog that I was running played music mp3's.
I'm thinking the best solution would be to get a different stock music player apk and then use adb to push it to the phone?
My problem is that my stock music player and Google Play music can't detect the music I added to the music folder. When I add the music it will appear for a day or so in both players, but when I reopen them all my music has disappeared. I can playuaic fine from the folder and in PowerAmp, but why is theusic dissapearing from the stock player. Any suggestions are appreciated
Since the default music app is using the wrong album art on some songs and doesn't have a widget, and I don't really like Google Play Music, I decided to use Musixmatch as my default music player.
The problem now is, that if I use the music gestures, Musixmatch won't recognize them and either nothing happens or another music app responds to it. Then I uninstalled the included music player and deactivated Google Play Music so the only player I had was Musixmatch. Now the phone only vibrates when using a gesture, but nothing happens.
Is there a way to fix this or is it an error of Musixmatch?
I guess it's the error of the Musixmatch. I'm using the music gestures with the Sony music app, without disabling any stock music app, and it works just fine.
Hi!
I wonder if anybody else has encountered this issue and could help me with the strange bug that has started to happen after the latest update (CLT-L29 9.1.0.328).
The stock Music Player starts automatically playing songs at random times and it's really beginning to be annoying. I never even use the stock player, since I stream all my music with Google Play Music which is assigned as the default player. The only MP3 I have on my phone is the song that I use as a wake up.
I was wondering if I could revoke stock player's file premission without messing up the Google's Clock app which I use as an alarm clock?
Thank for your help in advance!
Yes it's fine to do that.. you should go one further and remove it completely along with 100's of other crapware.
