Hi guys.
I've been looking for a ROM to replace Cyanogen...
Found this Echelon ROM (Brahma) and saw the feedback was good about it.
Battery improved, smooth use... anyway, I flashed CM 7 months ago on my P970 and it's working good for me but I think there is more power in my device, but seems that all this power isn't being shown by CM.
Advise me here, is a good change to go from CM to Echelon?
Thank you!

Make a nandroid and then try echelon. If you dont like it, you re back to CM in about 10 minutes i prefere it very much by CM, cause it has less bugs (0), is fast, stable and the battery for me is waaay better as in CM.
Hope it helps

Thank you too much!
Will flash Echelon ASAP!
Keep helping us
i'm on zeus v6 right now and i like it very much, next week going to try echelon brahma for sure.. en then make a dicision what rom i like the most.
zeus and echelon are the roms i like the most..
ik also tried cm a couple of weeks ago but that wasn't going very well.
I strongly recommend you to do this.
Echelon works fine, is an excellent rom for OB, altough it isn't finished yet.
Post your feedback here!
Echelon and Mavel versions are great, Cm is for me the best Rok for the OB, but hattery consumption is horrible, try Marvel instead Echelon and you wont regret.
Regards!
Agreed... CM has horrible battery drain, that's why I'm trying other ROMS.
I'm using Zeus v6 and I'm enjoying this ROM. Also tryed Echelon, but it is unfinished, besides is a nice ROM too.
Will try the Marvel ROM soon, wanna find the best ROM for me
I recommend you to try Echelon ROM (Brahma). Its the most stable custom rom I've tested by far. I am currently using it for over a week now and I haven't experienced any bugs or crushes compared to CM7.
I have a little problem though on setting up Live Wallpapers.
Do anyone of you know how to set Live Wallpapers in this rom?
Cheers,

Hi,
i installed the Echelon ROM on my Black too, and im very satisfied with this rom. Its the best ROM currently on market, and im following the Echelon Thread nearly every day to check if there are any Updates regarding this ROM.
But unfortunately today i didnt find the Thread anymore?!
It seems that the developer of this rom has deleted his Thread?
Does anybody know why? It would be very sad if he decided to stop this ROM

Brahma was a base ROM for V20o with minimal tweaks, but faster than stock. As what could have been next will never be seen, like a unicorn. For what can be/could have been added, what lacks..
*Try the iwconfig for TX Power
*GPS fix (or compare gps.conf to others)
*For some values, download Sysctl Config in Market (you will have a sysctl.conf file automatically added in system/etc)
*Didn't add Terminal, download one in market
*Didn't delete libGLES_android (for battery), up to you. There are tweaks in build.prop anyway.
*Has original libsqlite (Alpha and Brahma), working bluetooth out of the box
*In Alpha I added quickpic and deleted galery3d, alarm clock in exchange of another.
Why dont you continue it dude? Means I have to switch to Zeus again? I really loved your ROM, as you should know Sad to hear...
Or do I get anything wrong?

Up to you, it's the trend nowadays... If I find something interesting, it will be PM'd so you can update.
i was wondering, where is the echelon topic went? i couldn't find it anymore..
to bad, i think you did a fantastic job on a rom that had only two release versions..
the original thread was:

it seems to have been deleted or disabled ...
phew, good thing i have not flash other ROM on top of this Echelon. This is most preferable rom for me currently. Thanks Gabwerkz!

Thanks bro for the file and I am very satisfied with your rom. It's very stable and optimum for daily use. Thanks again.
Hi. I'm sorry but maybe same thread is already created somewhere but I can't find it. If there is, can anyone here provide link for the thread?
And if no, well, the title says it all. Can anyone here provide or suggest me the list of stable AOSP/AOKP ROM with ICS based for our Incredible S? Last time I've tried IceCold Sandwich 8.3 and encountered quite few bugs in term of camera since I'm more of a camera user. I'm looking forward to try Playground ICS but it seems that the thread has been left out for quite a month and I don't know whether the ROM is still available or not.
Thanks in advance.

We don't have that much AOSP ROMs IceCold, Playground, CM9-Woot and the 3 JB ROMs from Nik. None of them is really daily driver like. We have to wait for our heroes to get a AOKP kernel working so everything in the ICS and JB ROMs will work properly.
Also: Dude, AwesomeBeats doesn't work good with Sense ROMs. U should get DSP-Manager for ProX instead Just saw it in your sig...

Hi there. If you're looking for stable Sense + ICS based ROM, you should probably try Nik ProjectX V4.1. This ROM works great for me.
For recovery, I use CWM. Never had problem to install any ROM using this recovery.
For kernel, I use ICS Sense G11 v2.0.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1887379).
To include sig, you need to have post count at least 10 posts.

If you just want a stable ROM no matter what than i suggest ARHD It's just optimized stock ROM which makes it the most stable For recovery I would use 4EXT, it's the ebst imo. For kernel take l0st.prophet's XS-ICS kernel. You can edit your sig in your profile settings.

I see. Last time I used IceCold, the camera did not work great for me. For example, on screen focus for the camera did not work. Hence, I need to hold the capture button to focus the subject and I think that is not flexible.
ARHD is just a replica of stock rom

V6 SUpercharger is a script that makes your phone more smooth with better RAM management. DSP-Manager is the best equalizer on Android that I know.

I'd go with Codename. More tweaks and it got more updates so it's better than JB Evo imo.

I use paid, but the free app is totally okay. U can flash DSP in recovery and it's just an app so no difficulties with that. For the start I would recommend to stay away from V6 supercharger first. You can come back to that later

DSP is installed by default after you have flashed ProjectX.
For V6, just follow the thread that I just gave you in previous post.

Codename is still new.. Very early stage.. Got lot of minir bugs.. Panorama image not clear Video camera doesn't wrk, video playback doesnt work, Wifi is hit n miss to name a few.. lot of minor bugs.. not for daily use as of now.. I would wait for a stable release by Nik.
But some bugs got temp fixes.. everything is detailed in main thread

Yes i'm everyday waiting to see new nightly with interesting updates.
KU5900 ICS is made for my OB
fast (gaming same as stock roms)
stable ( no FC & restart since day 1 i installed it)
good battery backup (2 days modarate use)
apex launcher works with this... smooth and battery friendly launcher :good:
i also like zeus 6.4 & 7.1 but the earpiece becomes unusable after some time of use and tweaking..
i dont know what the issue is.. coming from v10b then root with gingerbreak 1.2 install clockworks and flash its recovery mode
then flash 6.4 or 7.0 then 7.1.. both roms experience earpiece abnormality which KU5900 doesnt experience.. i hope heuzzz sees this post
as i cannot post on the developers area yet..

Should be almost impossible I think! ICS leak has the audio bug too so that's normal, but CM7 shouldn't have it. Did you format system before installing CM7? Baseband shouldn't matter! I went back to CM7 because I had the bug so many times on CM10 and ICS leak. On CM7, I can use all basebands.
Could it be you updated your RIL manually in CM7? You shouldn't. CM7 works only well with v10 RIL's, like the one which came with CM7 (RIL 218). Im using RIL0725 v10d.

I can confirm that. I install a leak rom, but everyone trying to call me got a heavy static noise.
Easy... easy... there's the flashable zip ICS leak which uses a SU660 based kernel that supposedly has the audio bug fixed, but probably hasn't, and there's the ICS leak that you have to flash with NVflash that completely rearranges your partitions and whatnot... I would say the latter doesn't have the audio bug.

That is totally wrong. With CM7 you can use nearly any BB/Ril Combination that fits best to your Country/Provider.
Only CM10's Ril should not be changed. You will loose Reception immediately.

vlite ICS leak (non-nvflash) has audiobug, for it share one thing with CM10 (dependance on SU660 kernel sources).
FULL Install of ICS - nvflash - does not have any in-call audio bugs.

Hey man... don't hand out misinformation... only V10 based RILs work on CM7 (believe me, I've tried). I had a v20 BB with a v10 RIL (in fact I just kept the RIL that came with CM7) and it was working great... so I actually agree with our other mate said... just don't touch the RIL and experiment with BB first (if you are on CM).

I believe so. Only "true" ICS leak doesn't have it, because the others use the kernel from SU660.
I dont have problem with that... I am now on [CM7][UNOFFICIAL][NOV10] temasek's UNOFFICIAL BUILD 135.4 - FINAL RELEASE and it is working like a charm...

Sorry. I forgot to mention that this only applies if you're on a SU660 BB. On P990 BB you're right. I'm on BB420 and tried different Ril's without Problems. Ril 218, 512, 1020, 725, 420 ... without Issues.

1.) the flashable zip indeed does have the audio bug. Unfortunately I read a couple reports of the issue being present in the NVFlash version as well - which would really suck hard.
2.) if you're on CM7 I suggest to DO touch the RIL. See my stickyed thread (link in my sig) for further details.

It's true, CM7 only can handle Froyo based RIL's. There are a lot, I agree, but they're all v10 based (because v10 is froyo for our phone). So don't say it's not true, you simply can't use v20 RIL's with all functions working.

A ROM without bugs?! Hah! It's right next to the pot-of-gold at the end of the rainbow (just to the left of the unicorn).
Marvel 11 is highly configurable, with a few (minor) quirks. I'm thinking that v12 is coming soon, at least that's what the tea leaves are reading. There were a couple of scripting issues, mainly with boot animations (you don't necessarily get the one you ask for).
I played with IZS, but I really appreciate the AROMA installer that Marvel uses.

Hahaha...
A different recommendation in almost every reply... Will throw my two cents in.
Currently running Mackay ROM v2.7.6 (JB 4.2.2). Works great in general but has a few of the common snags as all the JB 4.X.X roms. Camera issues, bluetooth is mute and any apps installed tot he SD card get uninstalled on every reboot (solution is to install to internal memory) are the only main things. I'm looking for something a little more stable and need bluetooth to operate properly for work when I'm driving.
I'm about to try Marvel ROM v11 (ICS 4.0.4) today. Will post up later and share my thoughts.

You should go for IZS, but Marvel is also a great ROM
Zeus 7.06
I also would recommend zeus 7.06.Best battery, fastest, most stable ROM (for me anyway). :good:
Also, flashing the latest Diana kernel is easy:just flash it from CWM with "install zip from SD" option.
Good luck!
I'm happy with the jellybam 6.7.0 rom.. Only bug i can find is that the dolphin browser wont start.. Everything else works fine..
Just installed Marvel v11 and WOW!!! It's awesome!
The level of customization is almost overwhelming, (but that's ok because I like lots of options...lol). It runs fast, smooth, stable, looks great and only a few minor issues thus far, but I believe these issues have solutions (I just have to sift through all the posts to find the answers...).
Im really enjoying SlimBean, its thin, the camera works on a great quality, no chipmuk voice, the video recorder works fine and all on jelly bean. After test ICS and JellyBean, i will never back to ICS. Dont know why, but seems lightier than other versions of android. :cyclops:

You're saying the camera in Slim ROM works well? Is video recording smooth and not jumpy (low frame rate or high)?
Also, do you know if bluetooth works properly (not mute)?

on specs of slimbean shows that the video recorder is on 720p, but i dont know if it is. And i dont tested the bluetooth, i already back to stable cm10 because i have an issue with battery drain on slimbean, almost got 7 hours, maybe is a problem with my baseband version, but is a great rom. Well, i found a apk of stock camera of ICS and works well...
Ive installed 10 min ago this:
cm10-stable + gapps
zero gravity kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2082740
and cm10-lge-camera that i found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2091599
with cm10 stable i can get 1 day and 7 hours of battery, with another roms, less then 8 hours because i not use 3g, wifi sometimes.

SlimRoms is the JB which has a better battery consumption. If you are looking for fluency and long battery life the supressed V7 is fantastic.
