Is anyone else having trouble with MT? I can get the default widget to show but any attempt to customize causes a crash. Works fine on rooted stock, but not on hybrid cm 10.

I don't know the answer, but stock is ics and CM10 is jellybean. Did you check the Play Store store to see if it is compatible with jellybean?

It is, I use it on my gnex with 4.2.2, and I reloaded from play, it should check that, right?

Actually "not should check". This depends how application is written. But if look how famous Minimalistic text is i guess that it looks.
I recommend on Hybrid first clean Minimalistic text cahce and data (on Settings-Applications->My Apps->Minimalistic text <- this step by step on stock launcher). Then remove application and look to sdcard/Android/data folder. If there you see something named with devmil.minimalistic then delete it. Now you may reboot and install it again. Hope problems is gone.
If not then problem is somewhere on Hybrid side i think which on i dont belive.

I've been having issues with the XDA app while using Froyo or Honeycomb from the SD card. The application frequently force closes.
Also if I try XDA through the web browser, I can't use the search function. I click search, the drop down dialog box appears, but as soon as I click on it to enter text, it goes away.
Seems I can't really use XDA from either app or browser on Nook with Froyo SD or Honeycomb SD (though both worked with a rooted Eclair).
This expected behavior? Any stability differences if I were to flash Froyo to the internal SD (using a class 6 SD card currently)?
NC XDA force closing
I am having the same issue and I Froyo and Homeycomb flashed it to the internal memory....
I am too... I even paid $.99 for the Premium edition to see if it would fix it.(and because I use this site enough to give back a little)
It always crashes for me whenever I sign in to my account
otherwise it seems fine.
Same here. As long as I don't sign in I'm good. If I sign in the app bombs out.
Ditto everybody
I sign in, open a hearted forum, FC.
CM7 nightly v14.
Using XDA Premium on Nookie Froyo 0.6.8, on the eMMC (Flashable thru CWM).
The FIRST time I opened it, there was a force close.
Since then, not one issue--signed in or out.
Same here. I ended up just getting Tapatalk (which is what XDA app is based on) and it works great with XDA as well as many other forums. No FCs at all.

Is that the paid program which costs about 23hkd? or did I miss something in my market?
I am running CM7 v13 and I get a force close after signing in and clicking on a thread. Droidforums app works great though both built off of tapatalk

Ok, purchased the Tapatalk app. All is well now.
Bought tapatalk. Everything is fine. it also provides a long list of pop forums to choose from. Furthermore, it turns out that 23 hkd is about 2.8usd which makes it a decent deal.

I don't mind shelling out another buck or two on Tapatalk, but I'd also love it if XDA Premium would work on the NC
Anyone have any suggestions on how to solve the FC?
I've run the Fix Permissions, uninstalled/reinstalled/rebooted etc. No love.
I'm running the emmc CM7 23 nightly with the Dalingrin 3/16 OC, ADW Launcher.
I'm having the same issue with the xda premium app. Works great until I log in and then FC as soon as I try to do anything. It worked fine running 2.1 but I recently upgraded to phiremod 5.1 and that is when the problem began.
I guess there's no solution for this? I'm also getting this error with a few other apps after flashing to 5.1 that were working before.
Still worth the update but frustrating for the few apps that will not work now.
5 dollar bounty for a fix.
Same issue, phiremod 5.1 and latest OC kernel as of 3.16, Soon as i try and open a thread or close the app if i signed on, i get a FC.
Premium app or not, this thread seems like alot of, ME TOO, or USE tapatalk..
i want to use the app i paid for, any dev's have any suggestions?
I will gladly send logcat if needed, i just want XDA app to work on my nook color!
Please... i put a 5 dollar bounty on a fix.

So, just use Tapatalk instead of XDA, or install Tapatalk then run XDA?
I can't seem to get gmail to run from cm10. Every time I attempt to launch it, it pulls up a screen that looks like its trying to run, and then just returns to the launcher. No error or anything, just simply won't run. I downloaded it from 1mobile app store.
Is this a known issue? Or am I doing something wrong?
BTW Google + does the same thing. Is there something I can do to run these apps on cm10? Or do I just have to check on the browser for email or Google+ updates?

Do you have gapps installed? I noticed you said you got it from 1mobile. I am pretty sure you need gapps so you can get your Google credentials verified. Get gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip from goo.im.

That's what was missing. Thank you. Now it's working. I figured there had to be something that told cm10 how to log me in to my Google account, but I didn't know how that worked. Now I do!

Are you using a case with a magnet in it to put it to sleep and wake it? If so, try removing the case and see what happens.

I reverted back to stock and it started to happen. i then erased and deregistered within the nook UI and started fresh. it does not happen before i login with my gmail. at the choose language screen, i can sleep and wake with no issues. once i log in with my google login it starts to happen.
does this mean my user partition is crap? is there a way to reformat or partition everything?
thanks!

My wife just told me that her Nook HD+ is uninstalling apps on it's own. Have any of you heard of this happening before on Nook HD+? It stays on her Android phone but is removed from the tablet.
I haven't seen this happen but just asking because the wife is pissed at me for this happening on something I modded for her. LOL

So you are not really having to re-install the apps, just put the icons back on the home screen?
Why don't you try a third party launcher and see if the disappearing icons quit disappearing.

Various apps. Wife hasn't been able to remember the names but the types were flashcards app (like the 3x5 cards we used in school), scientific calculator, biology and a game.
Sorry, doing the best I can with a wife that has a poor memory of app names.

I was just wondering if they were apps she got at the Amazon app store. Sometimes those get flacky if they can't verify that the app store is installed and running.

You could try scanning the ALL tab under My Apps on the Play Store - that shows all the apps you've ever installed on any device registered against your Google account. That might jog her memory. If they're not listed there then maybe, as leapinlar suggested, they came from the Amazon app store and have fallen prey to the flakiness he's observed.
(Backup tools like Titanium Backup can be set to do regular app backups which could provide a useful recovery point in cases like this. Not so useful if the user can't remember what the apps were called, though...)

Maybe she downloaded apps from play store, then removed hers Google account, so all apps associated got Uninstalled.
If its using cm11 there was a bug where app icons would disappear from the launcher after app updates.
Apps uninstalling themselves though... Besides user error or bad judgement I can think of many possible scenarios where apps could be removed/disappear.
I wonder too if google's new app checker service improvement could remove them if it didn't like them. Perhaps even being triggered during an automatic update.
[Ah yes, there is what I was looking for: "Google Play scans apps that are uploaded for malware. If an app is later discovered to be malicious, Google can automatically remove it from the devices it’s been installed on." -> http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/cracked-android-apps-and-games-read-this-before-downloading/
And that is only one way it can happen.]
I just flashed the newest CM11 build yesterday on my HD+. Its running great and many thanks for the threads on getting it done as painlessly as possible. I do have a question and not sure if there is a workaround.
Google Play still sees the device as a stock HD+. That means it still thinks I am running Android 2.2 Nook OS so a lot apps are "not compatible with your device". I hoped that one perk of upgrading to 4.4 was that I could now get the latest and greatest apps and other features that only work on the higher OS levels.
Any way to fix this? What I dont understand is that I have an old HP Touchpad running Tenderloin and it shows up as "unknown maker" cm-tenderloin device. When I updated the HD+ I went through the process of logging into my accounts just like any other droid device.
Thanks for any help.
There is not much you can do. Even when other users manually edit the build.prop file to change it to another device, Play Store still does not show many more apps compatible. That is because Play Store looks at more properties that name. It looks at screen size, density and whether it has a camera, GPS, etc.
What you need to do is enable unknown sources and either use another store like Amazon.com or get the apk file from another device and install it manually.

Thanks for the tip. I will try the unknown source route.
I don't see why it's still recognizing yours as 2.2 though. Before installing the 4.4.4 KITKAT OS, Instagram and iHeartRadio were deemed incompatible with my device. However, once I installed the new OS, they installed and ran flawlessly even without features such as a camera. Then again I AM using the HD instead of the HD+ so maybe that has something to do with it?
